    This Chapter is 👌 🌲 It is also useful and helpful for all those who are watching your programmes regularly. SUGGESTIONS : (1) I was here & I am here = I have been here since this 🌄 OR I have been here for two hours (2) "FOR" = Period of time (3) "SINCE" = Point in time

    Madam, Why can not we say 'boiled water' as 'கொதித்த நீர்' in active meaning instead of saying 'கொதிக்க வைக்கப்பட்ட நீர்' in passive meaning ? Please explain madam.

      Please explain madam.

    • @EnglishwithVennila
      @EnglishwithVennila  ปีที่แล้ว

      'கொதித்த' is the result of the action done to the water. So, it's passive in meaning.

    burning wood - எரிகின்ற மரம் (பலகை)
    burnt wood - எரிந்த மரம்(பலகை)
    என இரண்டுமே adjectives in active voice என எளிதாகப் புரிந்து கொள்ளப்படலாம்.
    ஆனால் burnt wood - எரிக்கப்பட்ட மரம்(பலகை) என passive voiceல் எப்படி/எப்போது அர்த்தமாகும், especially when there is no auxiliary verb before it ?
    Hope, I made my question clear and understandable.

    • @EnglishwithVennila
      @EnglishwithVennila  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sir, when we say that past participles are passive in meaning, they can be verbs, participles or adjectives. In the phrase, 'burnt wood', 'burnt' is an adjective and it is passive even when it means 'எரிந்த' because it is the result of something done to it. It's the resultant state.
      I hope it's clear.
