I don't care about doing ollies anymore. My knees and ankles are getting tired of it. There are thousands of tricks that don't need one and keep it challenging.
Im starting to get decent at street basics, but I want to get into freestyle. It sure will improve my overall balance and skill with the board. But I mainly want to have more stuff to practise when the park is overcrowded with annoying scooter kids.
I agree that in freestyle you have so many tricks, so ollies are just one of the many tricks categories. BUT also, i feel that expecially in the last decade, ollies in freestyle are also underrated.Following many freestyle newbies on instagram, I feel that Many directly ignore ollies, like if its just a "street" thing. Too bad, because even if its only a trick category, it opens the way to so many variations and possibilities. Ollie grabs, airwalks, ollie fingerflips and flips in general, ollie shovits, and the combinations with caspers, railstands and pogos are just beautiful to watch when done properly! ♥️ Personally i do few ollies because of my old knees, but if i was younger, i would focus a lot on ollies on my freestyle routine😊
great to see Ricky out there (again)......! Ahh, I miss hanging out with you guys in LB; at least we got to meet in Germany! The weather...... was not perfect......but hey....
Ollie always taking time to practicing on ollie and separation off the board of executing the right adjustment to rotating on the opposite side from the board!
Freestyle is not just about what you do with your board, but what you do with your whole body. It is a dance. If you don't look at the board, but only at the body, then every Ollie variation is basically is just a jump. And jumping around does not amount to dancing. But I absolutely love it when someone does a good Ollie trick in their freestyle routine - even a very high flatland Ollie gets me excited.
I just always assumed Mike could skate street, but just chose freestyle. Like with that level of board control of course most of y'all can ollie lol. Great video though :)
imagine being the father of freestyle skating Rodney Mullen accidentally invented Kickflip while casually practicing Ollies. And it's true. Why are we so invested in Ollies now? Do more boneless!😃
Double finger flips are next to impossible for some reason, I can f****** laser flip I can Street skate like a motherfuker but you know what everything that you are doing I feel like it's an homage to Rodney. I hope I get the chance to skate with you one day
Wat u don’t like Rodney mullens olie?? U like and do all wat he was doing in the early 80s. Please don’t limit freestyle!! The envelope can be pushed so far ,,, no u don’t have to make it look like street sk8ing!
grasshoppers: "pffft, we invented the ollie." 🦗
