ps.. it's is a blessing tonsee that there are people out in the great beyond who are still buying and reading Steven Erikson's Malazan series. This is a good sign, given the series is over 2 decades old, more-or-less eh? We'll never see this kind of writing again though (I hope we do but I think Messrs Erikson has set the bar very high for anyone attempting to match his style. Anyway, if you haven't yet, read Glen Cook, (I wouldn't read Stephen Donaldson, maybe the first in that chronicle.. but that should suffice. Long live Malazan, raise a glass to the Bridgeburners, Slainte 🤘
Yeah, long live the Bridgeburners. Agree that it will be difficult for anyone to reach this high standard of writing. Someday though, it will happen :) I suppose. Thanks for your comment, take care.
@@thenostalgicdragonalso, might I say, you have been asking Steven great questions in these interviews and have been adding poignant insight, Shrikant! Thanks for your work here on your channel.
@@thenostalgicdragon Thanks a good rest indeed, and yeah I have watched the previous two :) I had subbed after the 1st one so as not to miss the next ones :)
Just finished watching. I would absolutely LOVE to see Esslemont on here as well! I've never actually seen him yet, there might be interviews but I haven't looked to be fair. I look forward to seeing that! I actually have some questions. Will there be any side stories regarding the Moranth? I guess I could imagine it would be tricky because they don't speak in an understandable language officially :P Also they appear to be kept mysterious intentionally which I would also understand because it does work :D I'm trying to think of more questions to ask, I've read the series several times and my last read was including ALL the side stories ( I have every single book ) But it's been 1-2 years since I freshly read them, I'm pretty sure if I was deep into the books right now I'd be able to come up with dozens of questions. Another question would be to know if we have any more books from Esslemont to look forward to and if so how many. His writing became so much better later on, especially the book that tells us who Traveler is.. oh my god is it amazing, that book was a rollercoaster of emotions. While googling to figure out the title of that book I suddenly realize there's The Forge of the High Mage that released last year and I completely missed it! I'm so excited because that means I have something new to read :D Instantly ordered it haha Would you be open to asking some viewer questions? and if so I would compile them in a new comment if/when it comes to me.
Hi, thanks for all your input. Definitely I am open to have take in viewer questions. I really like the idea. And you have many good questions. It is nice to read that you have read so much Malazan. Seems we can have a lot to discuss as well. Just write down more questions if you have them. Have a nice day!
@@thenostalgicdragon Awesome! Oh yeah I've spent many many many years living in their world. I absolutely love huge worlds that I can inhabit. Reading what should now be 30 books in the series take longer every time haha. I've started "reading" Gardens of the moon again recently, but I'm doing an audio book now for the first time and listening to it a bit more casually while following the Ten Very Big Books podcast (big recommendation) Check that out on TH-cam if you don't know it yet. I only learned about that recently myself and it's pretty cool. Steven knows it as well as he's been on their podcast too. I will see if more questions arise, I've never really had the opportunity to ask Steven or Ian anything before. Thank you for the opportunity.
Erikson should focus on releasing the next books in the Witness Trilogy. We won't see a new erikson novel until the Sarah Maas rage is over. And it's just getting started so don't count on anything yet folks... not anytime soon anyway.
Great video! Steven Erikson is the best!
Cannot wait for the writing book. Great interview!
Thanks for watching!

Thanks for watching. Sounds like a great idea!
