True. It's just a misconception that only Indian students come to Canada for PR or stay after their studies. Even students from other countries do the same. My classmate was from Taiwan and after completing studies in December 2023, she went to Manitoba for her easy PNP process since it is very difficult to get PR in Ontario. Stop targeting a specific community. Most international students are economic immigrants because we cannot move back to our country. We have invested 50,000$ on our education. We also pay our rent, grocery, and have other bills too. We also need to earn money for our families.

If doctors, nurses or scientists were protesting we can understand. but the people protesting are working in service industries. No need for so many people. Service jobs are temporary jobs for high school students and for college students. Nowhere it is mentioned that PR is 100% confirmed i dont know where they get this idea that studying in mickey mouse college in brampton will give PR.

      Hey bro,
It is not about PR anymore, it is more about the fact that, when we studied in colleges like George brown for two years spent 30 lakhs almost and took most of the money as loans, and then to get a license in r professions we had to study another year or more, and then when the time comes even to make money to repay r loans, we are getting kicked out...
you've got your PR or you may be a citizen, but please remember we have worked and given 2 years of our lives working as labors and then another year doing articulating...

In actuality, Punjabis have waaaay more clout in anglophone Canada than India now. There are more Punjabi ministers both at the federal and provincial level and many are hands in glove with immigration "consultants" aka fake scamsters. Case in point Ruby sahota, an MP from Brampton. More and more Canadian cities are looking like Brampton and Surrey these days. Missasauga and windsor are almost more than 50% desi already. Even Calgary and Edmonton is turning that way
Which is why everything that we see happening in Kaneda these days is so blatant and so is the entitlement. Expect things to get way worse there before it gets better

6:03 When I was applying for PR in 2015, I knew it was very difficult to pass their minimum requirement. PR process has clearly indicated that it is granted to wanted professions that such as doctors, welders, pipe fitters, nurses, equipment operators etc. Poor judgment when applying for admission to small colleges ( Puppy Mills) including your WRITTEN evidence that you will go back to home country is not Canadian Govt.fault. You must fight against scam agencies who scammed you. Also car thefts have become soo high in Canada these days that thefts have connections to international students involved in the crime. Canada has, for decades, been in the top 10 of safest and least racist countries on planet Earth. Plus prosperous. Now there is a new negative spin that most Canadians do NOT deserve to a high degree. People must look at both sides.
Since 2020, international students have been flocking to a educational system that many Canadians now feel was used by many of them as a loophole-to-immigration. Students utilizing schooling as a back-door (not front-door) ticket to living in Canada. Swarming a 50+ year tradition/system that was not not NOT designed to be about EVERY international student INSISTING on receiving Permanent Residency. Plus it was not designed to be primarily about students demanding lengthy work permits (& spouse permits etc.). Canadians have clued in that Canada's post secondary education system has (in 5 years time) turned into what many are now jokingly calling EDUGRATION. An extreme not approved by everyday Canadians.
What about Ghost Consulting that Canada told India to halt? Canadians want foreign $ greedy agents to stop marketing & lying to their own people about access to PR or citizenship … or accommodation/jobs … in places like Canada being relatively easy. At best there is a 20% chance of PR (better odds if their career is in HIGH demand).
And what about all the YT videos that primarily Indian nationals have posted (for half a decade now including today) all advertising Canadian PR like they're selling a product? Advertising Canadian visas & permits & schools & jobs etc. etc.. Videos not only posted hourly but also 99% not in English or French. With very very rare input from Canadian-born citizens.
Plus Canada didn't have numerous PRIVATE 'diploma mills' until 40% of international students were from India. Coincidence? Mills that Canada is shutting down. AND the bulk of them are near Brampton Ontario and Surrey B.C.. Coincidence? Canada is now compelling ALL schools to report to Immigration whether a student is attending school and complying with permit requirements or not. Were Canadian public colleges & universities greedy too (while honest)? Sure. But the Canadian government stepped in and slowed them down too (like a trustworthy government should).
Are most international students truly scholars who came to Canada with enough $ to support themselves while STUDYING? Or economic migrants, who borrowed $ to buy their way closer to the head of the immigration line? To say all the students or their consultants back home have not been at times 'gaming' Canada's education programs to gain western PR or $ is ridiculous. Students have contributed to Canada's housing CRISIS and lack of entry jobs because 96% conspire-to-outstay a temporary permit.
Canada wants to help people, but not when it contributes to home unaffordability and a recession. If 36,000,000 Canadians travelled to India, since 2020, with the goal of being able to stay there permanently, that would raise India's population by 2.65%. Recent asylum seekers crossing into Canada… and international students... have raised Canada's population higher than 2.65%. More needing healthcare too (affecting waiting times etc.).
What about the IELTS spouses? Anchor babies? Fraud? False asylum claims? What about Canadian food banks & other charity services being recklessly advertised on YT in Indian languages? What about Canadian housing being scooped up en-mass as investment vehicles by/for internationals? Home rental/boarding signs stating "vegetarians only can apply". Indian nationals buying local businesses then putting Indians only in key positions (while also drastically changing work practices that include working more hours for less money). Plus BC & Ontario are outlawing the Caste System.
Then throw in the Sikh vs Hindu violence/extortions across Canada. Diasporas stirring up tribal hatreds (in Canada) … even though it all stems from their ancestral home. How can peace be found anywhere with this in play? Plus the Canadian government recently launched investigations in regards to foreign interference in Canadian elections, stemming from Asia continent. Canada also had to end flagpoling at the border.
In recent years, Canadians everyday are having to worry about their automobile being stolen by auto theft rings. For just one example of what Canadians see regarding this new concern, research; "arrests in connection with $9.24M Toronto-area auto theft ring". In addition research; "Gold stolen in Canada's biggest ever heist ended up in India". Plus credit card fraud schemes and major scams involving foreign call centres.
Canadians are so so so not used to all this. So many, who have embraced multi-culturalism and immigration for decades are now worried/fearful. All are praying it doesn't turn into anger. Canadians want multi-culturism to succeed and for all people (including immigrants) to be okay. Everyone I know is VERY happy with IRCC's recent changes (reductions & multifaceted investigations etc.). Including multi-generational long-term Asian Canadians MOST upset (by all of this).
Canadians are aware that some wonderful students/humans are going through hell. And know Canada is partially to blame which is awful. But Canada decides what needs to be done in Canada to prevent further pains. Do you see Canadians protesting in other countries (that is not their own) making demands for themselves? No. Do Canadians now see primarily Indians protesting in Canada making demands? Yes. Protesting because they don't have the credentials to stay in Canada. And because rules designed to protect CANADA are not meeting their desires/demands. And why isn't there large crowds of African or Caribbean or Filipino etc., students protesting & waving their flags? They're in Canada too.
Did international students and their families pay into Canadian taxes ALL their lives like domestic students have (earning cheaper tuition fees)? No.
Did Canada force internationals to move to Canada as a STUDENT? No.

    1) the need of the hour is skilled labor in high demand industries like healthcare, tech, skilled trades, construction etc. why arent people upskilling themselves to make them eligible and deserving of permanent residency instead of trying to protest for it?
    2) biggest thing to remember is that getting a PR is a PRIVILEGE and not an ENTITLEMENT. People are not entitled to receive a PR just because they set their foot in this country or paid taxes or anything. Paying taxes is expected if one works a job.
When people come here as students/ temporary foreign workers, they are expected to be so and return to their home country after their studies / work is complete. But if they want PR, they need to work and become eligible for any of the PR streams instead of protesting.
And asking others who are in this country why they didn't return after their studies is a dumb question. Because others EARNED their status as a PR rather than by protesting
    3) What people actually need to do is take responsibility that they didn't conduct sufficient research into the immigration policies when they came in as a student. If their interest was to become a PR in the long term, there was nothing stopping them to study the required programs / getting the required licenses and certifications / upskilling themselves / moving to high demand jobs / learning french etc. All this could have been done within the 5 years that they were here (2 years as student+ 3 years on work permit in a lot of cases)
If they need to blame anyone, they would need to blame their immigration agents who made false promises saying that PR is promised after completing a random program in Canada. And they would again have themselves to blame for believing everything the agents said, not conducting their own research and adapting to the labor market needs & current immigration trends

Listen I am living here long time. In most of the high paying sectors mostly white people are employed and they won't hire colored people and you may see 1 or 2 but not more. Even if you learn trades you will still won't get in to construction because construction jobs pay very well even to the person who doesn't know any skills or trades. The government here lobbied by big corporations and businesses to bring cheap labours for them and for the jobs which Canadians won't do due to very less pay which government did. Now government got in to trouble due to backlash from the public for affordability and now the government is taking measures to fix it. But the measures are not for people who are crushed financially due to inflation and more people here but due to election is coming. Government doesn't care what will happen to public but care to elect them again. And that is why you see when skilled and educated people come in Canada they don't get jobs in their fields because the businesses won't let them get in and say " you don't have Canadian experience " so you won't job and you won't get experience. But in this there is hand of government too because of strict regulations for foreign credentials to be allowed for working here. In this country one province can't trade with other provinces due to protectionism of their businesses. Do you think the white population who are here since 3 or 4 hundreds here would allow people come from other countries and take their jobs.? No. It is a plan government will invite people to come here and bring their money to inject in Canadian economy and work in odd jobs and jobs which mostly white Canadians won't do. So if you have good job and money back home then you would be the biggest stupid to come or go to any foreign countries. Think it like this if in Punjab India people start coming from other state of India then people in Punjab would let them take their position no.

I don't support the claim that students should be considered for a PR because they paid fair share of taxes while they worked during their studies in Canada. Students choose to work to earn towards supporting their stay and tuition. The Government allows such Part-time employment for the student's welfare. The sole reason a student works is to support his/her self and not for the benefit of Canada and its citizens. And the tax one pays is to enjoy the benefits and resources in Canada, like roads, water, public transport, public safety, etc. and should not be considered a reason to grant a PR.
