Yeah, others have pointed that out. But it only takes a few seconds (around 6) for the heart to pump blood throughout the entire body, so I'm not exactly sure the location of the bite should matter. That's always been a sticking point with me whenever stuff like that happens. Like on The Walking Dead when they cut off that guy's leg ... it made no sense that he didnt' get infected anyway because by the time it they finally got his leg removed, the infection would have been throughout his entire body already. 5:29 Some of the reactions by people to the young woman stumbling through the train and falling down, is something common in most Asian cultures. Especially Japanese and Korean. People aren't loud and ignore others, even if someone were to be on a train yelling and making a scene, it's a cultural thing to not give that person attention. The reason he covered his mouth was to protect the woman from getting bit, in the heat of the moment you don't know what you'll do. The infections progress is dependent on where your bit. In the neck , you turn fast, if you noticed the people bit on the hand takes longer. The strong guy who protected his wife ,bit in the hand, and the father of the little girl, also bit on the hand.
I think the reason some of them didn't turn quickly is because if u notice those on the train we're bitten on the neck area and the virus propably reaches and attack the brain much quicker.. And as for those slow turners they were bitten mostly on the arm or leg area which probably takes a little while longer to reach the brain?
Yeah, several people have mentioned that. But it only takes a few secondss (about 6) for the heart to pump blood throughout the entire body (spreading the infection completely), so the location of the wound shouldn't really matter as far as that goes. Everyone should be fully turned within just a few seconds, no matter where they were bit. But some people took several minutes, while others took less than ten.
The father put his hand over the mouth so the zombie wouldn't bite the pregnant lady or his daughter. If he had his arm around the neck of the zombie, it could still lunged and bite. So, he covered the Zombie's mouth by instinct to protect the lady and his daughter.
31:23 there actually wasn’t any plot issues because he was bit in the hand, therefore it would take longer for him to fully turn. for example people who got bitten in the neck turned almost straight away but at the beginning there was a woman who got bitten in the leg and she took longer to fully turn because it was just the leg.

I think different people’s bodies must have different levels of susceptibility to the infection. There’s several people who just take much longer to turn, just like some people have higher pain thresholds or don’t get knocked down hard by the flu when they get it. If every zombie bite turned every human at exactly the same rate, it would have to pretty much be magical zombie rules. Variation is a pretty well integrated aspect of biology.
@@xanthedanger8293 Good reasoning. There's no difference once an infection or virus or whatever it is enters the bloodstream, but maybe it's the immune system that determines how fast they turn. Also, we have to take into account how much time is actually passing in the movie. It may seem like minutes to turn when it's really seconds, etc.
He could have just hooked his hand or arm under the guy's neck like he was doing earlier, right before he got bit. I realize that for purposes of the plot he had to get bitten, but the way it was written still comes across as sloppy.
The reason it seemed like no one noticed the infected girl while she was in the aisle is most likely a kind of "commentary" on Korean/asian society & culture. There's a emphasis on the comfort of the collective/community/group rather than the individual. In all honesty, they most likely did see her but chose to ignore it rather than inconvenience anyone by bringing attention to it. If they were going to do anything, they would have privetly told a worker. It wasn't until they could no longer ignore or pretend to ignore it that they showed a response/reaction.
Exactly. A lot of people who react to that scene don't seem to come to that thought when they first see it. When things happen in real life, very rarely will anyone react or intervene and for many reasons - not wanting to get involved, waiting to see if someone else will do something, don't care, or just in shock and not sure what to do.
The high school baseball player is also in "Parasite" which won the Oscar for best picture. The one who played his girlfriend was actually 24 years old and a member of a famous k-pop girl group, the Wonder Girls.
It makes me laugh how many people watch this film and their suspension of disbelief can't get past the passengers ignoring the first infected girl when they all know damn well the second someone with mental issues or is drunk or anything that would be considered outside of the norm acts up on public transport, everybody actively *tries their hardest* to just ignore them.
Except she doesn't look drunk or mentally ill. She looks physically ill. It seems very clear that something (non-mental) is wrong with her. Others have explained that her being ignored is a (South Korean) cultural thing. Which kind of makes sense. But I believe at least one other person familiar with the area refuted that claim. So I dunno. Either way, I found that part particularly odd.
@@CynsCorner there's an even worse stigma around mental illness in South Korea than most other places, that is only recently starting to get turned around. But if you see someone acting weird or making odd noises (not groaning, making comments about feeling ill), it's really no different to someone rambling about the pod people and you're not going to notice the difference when you're actively trying to not look at them. I don't know if you use public transport often enough to notice, but next time an instance like that occurs, pay attention to everyone else and you'll see what I mean.
Trains in Korea once you’ve paid you’re in- They’re not taking tickets per se- One simply boards. Nothing crazy suspicious about a young woman running to possible avoid missing the soon to be departing train. It’s purposefully framed to focus on “passenger zero”
The fact that that awful guy almost got out of that when other people that died did so much for others like saving them by dying instead. Like the homeless man and the guy who got bit and held them off for a while on the train. Such amazing guys and then we also had that muppet. I’m actually so happy with the ending like we always see main characters survive but this time he didn’t and I think that really speaks a lot, this is definitely my favourite zombie movie ever. And yes that girls acting is amazing for how young she is.
I think how fast people turn depends on where they were bitten. For example, the woman who was bitten on her neck by the first zombie in the train turned faster as she was bitten on the neck. The others were mostly shown bitten on their hands or legs. The infection would reach the brain faster from the neck than from the legs or hands.
In-gil (the old woman) let herself die because she wasn't able to move fast enough. Notice how they barely got the door closed in time right after she was bitten. She sacrificed herself so the others would make it.

Dissolve cuts for chunk editing a wildly fast paced movie is so disturbing I couldn't finish. After every dissolve edit my pavlov brain expected a passage of time (like maybe the next day) and a slow paced dialogue scene. Who dissolve edits from an aggressive, fast, violent zombie pile up....diiiisssooollvve (fade out, faaaade in) to another aggressive violent human against zombie fight. It was jarring both objectively and for my pavlov stuff. Anyways, you're not the only one. Simple cuts are your best bet for a fast paced action horror movie. Dissolve are for dramas. I mean, I'm just sayin.
Yeah, sorry about that. This was in my very early days of filming movie/tv reaction videos. I have since reverted to no transitions between cuts/edits when I'm reacting to something. Though I don't react to much anymore; I'm mostly focused on movie/show reviews.

I mean the dissolves were jarring but I must admit I did see after I wrote it that the video was like 3 yrs old and thought to myself 'huh, my thoughts probably no longer apply'. But like an asshole I didn't delete. Anyways have a good next Tuesday!
You weren't being an asshole; no need to apologize! I appreciate the feedback. I do still use dissolve in my movie reviews because fast cuts look terrible in those, imo. But I completely agree about dissolve being an issue in reactions like this, since there are SO many MORE edits than even in a movie review.
@@CynsCorner Yeah, that was what I meant by my totally made up term 'chunk editing'. Reaction videos have, you know, 'chunks' edited out. It's never like a scene to next scene transition and I was thinking that that was the reason the dissolve was jarring which is counter-intuitive since dissolves are meant for, like, a gentle smooth transition. Anyways good luck with your channel.

When it comes to how fast they turn and when people criticize the writing, i think people lose all sense and logic when watching movies like this. In most diseases we know people react different being infected. Same with this. You can see how it varies in the film from the girl in the beginning of the film, the husband to the pregnant woman, and ofcourse the main character. It all takes a bit time, compared to most others. In the film they ofcourse often delay the turn on bigger characters but all in all, its only natural if you think of diseases we all know about today. And i guess it would also depend on where they are bitten. Legs and hands probably delays the process as the virus need more time to reach the brain, compared to if they are bitten in the neck as you see many is who turns quick.

I love your commentary in this. Im looking forward for more reactions!
He put his hand over his mouth so he wouldn't bite the pregnant lady. That's why I would of done.
I also cried at the end of the movie...yes its a wonderful movie😭
Trains in Korea once you’ve paid you’re in-
They’re not taking tickets per se-
One simply boards.
Nothing crazy suspicious about a young woman running to possible avoid missing the soon to be departing train.
It’s purposefully framed to focus on “passenger zero”
Cyn's Corner is featured in "32 More Reactions To 'Train To Busan' Passengers vs. Zombies" at th-cam.com/video/jOJWD3Q-Z4E/w-d-xo.html
haha - wow! That was surprising and hilarious to see. 😆
They turn faster when they get bit on the neck as opposed to the hand
I think how fast people turn depends on where they were bitten. For example, the woman who was bitten on her neck by the first zombie in the train turned faster as she was bitten on the neck. The others were mostly shown bitten on their hands or legs. The infection would reach the brain faster from the neck than from the legs or hands.
Love this movie and the douchebag was awesome! Preemptive thumbs up!
haha - why, thank you!
@@CynsCorner He's really good at portraying an assholé
In-gil (the old woman) let herself die because she wasn't able to move fast enough. Notice how they barely got the door closed in time right after she was bitten. She sacrificed herself so the others would make it.
I was eager to watch your reaction to this movie, but your reaction audio was so much lower than the movie level that I had to constantly dial up your audio, then dial it down again for the movie segment, and back and forth. I could not finish more than a few minutes of your reaction, sadly. Just some feedback that may help you improve your future videos (even if I'm watching many months after you first uploaded this one). Cheers.
This was filmed many, many months ago, when I was still fighting with audio setting in my software. Later in the video it might get better, but I can't remember exactly where.
A thought: One of the main reasons why I follow your channel is because your voice has wisdom, and you are honest. Sweet and funny. And you live a life like us. Not some 100 million plus sub TH-cam page which is desperate and fake for clicks and money. That's kind of hard to find sometimes right now. Most is click bate anger political views or cancel culture. We can listen to you and just....chill. So maybe throw in some videos of you just talking about whatever is on your mind. Or whatever. Keep up the good work.
I typed this before playing the whole video...... omg this is creepy!
I'm not a horror person... so watching sometimes is a bit of a risk for me. I have to get my cat Ariadne on my lap and protect me from spooky stuff.
Cried 100th time watching the last scene.
It's a heartbreaker for sure.
I hate Zombie movies, but this discovered-on-TH-cam film had me riveted from the "Zombie Deer" to the final song. Zombiephiles have said that they aren't "Reel Zombies," which adds to the appeal. Seoul has been rolling out great movies for a while now, from "Memories of Murder," "The Host," and "Tae Guk Gi." This over-the-top movie takes you on a roller coaster ride of emotions that make strong men/women cry.

even if this doesnt become a thing... im rlly glad u r starting it with this movie... amazing...keep up the good work
Thank you! I do want to make this sort of thing part of my channel. It's a bit more time consuming to edit but still a lot of fun. :-D
@@CynsCorner Yes, I was exited when I saw u did this. btw you can do some "highligh" edit or just trailer reaction for youtube and then post the whole reaction on dailymotion or streamable and just post a link to it in pinned comment. Few youtubers do that. They are some limitations.
Dailymotion: Duration: 60 minute maximum per video • File size: 2 GB maximum per file
So you will have to cut it in parts.
Streamable: Free plan store the video for 90 days and its 5$ a month to store the video forever.

"Parasite" next please....... :)
In a Zombie apocalypse. You dont take a chance with your family. It was intentional to get that douche off the train. I would have done the same to save my family even if it meant I got bit. Its pretty easy for us to sit in a comfortable chair judging them. But this is one of the best if not the best zombie movie. And its crazy how they have a diverse group of characters that dont revolve around something as superficial as skin. Each character' vastly different in a very homogenous society.
closer to the brain the bite, quicker to infect
That's what several people have mentioned. But all it takes is one heartbeat to spread the infection to the rest of the body. So I'm not sure ...
Zombie movies are my favorite horror film, wish there were more of them. This was good
korean cinema has delivered far greater than hollywood the past 20 years.
a must see action movie "The man from nowhere"
an amazing crime/thriller "memories of murder"
if you have the stomach for gruesome movies check out
I saw the devil
The Chaser
Oldboy
Thanks for those recommendations. I have seen I Saw the Devil (great film) and Oldboy. I don't think I've watched the others though, but I'll see if I can find them somewhere. Thanks again!
@@CynsCorner I second this. Memories of murder is slow and brilliant movie.

"The man from nowhere" is MUCH better version of "Man of fire" with Denzel if you watched it before. Trailer is really bad for such a good movie. It's not just any action movie. HF

I think he put his hand in front of the douches hand is cus he almost bit the pregnant lady
Great to see you reacting to some movies too. Especially when its a good one like this. One piece of advice, dont bother watching the sequal. It's a piece of crap compared to this one.
Yeah, I kind of got that impression after watching the trailer and then seeing some reviews for it. I don't plan to watch it.
The second movie is not as good as this. It's more hollywoodian action
We were sooooo disappointed!! The second one definitely doesn’t live up to the first.
@@cflournoy1529 Thankfully we can say they are only placed in the same universe, and it's not a sequel
@@nicolasrodriguesdossantos1881 you know I didn’t even think about it like that. That is very true.
@@CynsCorner So sorry. I've been on youtube since 2006 and have left a few comments no and then and I think perhaps 7 people have ever responded so I've gotten used to just ramble on about unimportant stuff. But BAM! here you are with a polite response.
Hey! Thanks for that.
Thank you!
People in korea and most asian countries mind their own business. Its only in america do people act really nosy and try and tell other adults and complete strangers what behavior is acceptable or not. So if someone is acting a bit strange on a subway in korea or japan, just know its none of your business.
Yeah, some other people have pointed that out and now that scene makes much more sense.
@しろカイル Thank you for clarifying that!
@@CynsCorner In that regard, Korea and Japan are different. People are quiet in Japan but not in Korea.
I say why he got bit Heat of the Moment protecting the pregnant woman and his daughter didn't think of the consequences he just did it without realizing adrenaline running all kinds of endorphins running in your body trying to make decisions quick. Realize what you're going to do phenomenon movie best comedy movie ever in a long time baseball couple so sad so so sad same for the pregnant lady in her husband super sad epic moment getting bitten in the hand bitten in the legs takes a little bit longer to turn getting bitten right next to the neck the poison or whatever it is the infection goes so much faster to turn you into a zombie

Jimmy Carr The Nasty Show
When it comes to how fast they turn and when people criticize the writing, i think people lose all sense and logic when watching movies like this.
