Mr freeze is probably my favourite fight in the entire Arkham series, he’s also my favourite batman villain He makes you actually think and use your array of gadgets, this is what I love, everything else is basically me just doing the same thing over and over to slowly beat the room
I have a special dedicated save on NG+ for the sole purpose of fighting this boss whenever the mood takes me. I beat him and exit before the game can autosave
My first experience with a stealth boss was David from The Last of Us. I really like it despite how simple it really is. You're basically fighting someone with Joel's skill set as Ellie, and your only takedown option is to stab him from behind. And once he fully goes into stealth and you can't spot him by listening it really amps up the tension
Great video! One thing you didn’t mention which I think is a pretty good touch by the developers is if you fight him on NG+ he disables your ability to see him in detective mode and you don’t get any UI element explaining what he’s doing. It makes the fight WAY more tense when you have to rely on your normal vision and hearing to figure out what he is doing
@@brucechmiel7964 - only if time goes by and you don’t do any takedowns. If you know what you’re doing you won’t get the information from Oracle. I got it the first time and for years never got it again and thought they patched it out. No, you just don’t get it unless you let x amount of time go by.
I would love for you to talk about any of the bosses from hades, namely Hades himself because it is a genius example of how to prepare your players for a boss. As all of the attacks have versions from enemies that teach you how to fight it.
TBH a bit more obscure one i would like to see is the boss "Eluna" from the tactical storydriven game called "Wildermyth". She apears as the final boss of the story "Eluna and the Moth" and has a verry nifty way of defeating her that makes her verry hard to deal with but oh so satisfying to win against...
@@idlemindedmage6925 Ill give you a hint. Bring ALOT of damage, ALOT... She has a really bitchy trick up her sleeve and you need a crap ton of damage, DOT preferred, but also some area damage cuz she spawns alot of minnions.
Just found you through the STS video, both this one and that are very well done, please continue making these. If I may suggest a few, Mithrix from Risk of Rain 2, Pure Vessel from Hollow Knight, and Hades from Hades are some of my favorites.
Really high quality videos you did so far. Looking at the current pacing of your channel (3 videos in a month and then nothing for 3 months) I hope you haven't given up on this project. Judging from quite some comments made very recently it seems yt finally decided to give your channel a well deserved little push.
Amazing job man! You cover details well, always show relevant footage, and cover a good amount in only 10 minutes. Your channel is doing amazingly well for only three videos. I'm also glad you took MatPat's advice and created a set of videos to release at once on channel creation. Very smart idea to follow through with. I encourage you to keep going and don't let the momentum die! Stay in touch :)
I feel like you could do wonders with an in-depth look at the 'duel boss' - or, perhaps more accurately worded, the 'I'm you, but better' boss. I mean, specifically, those bosses whose movesets are strongly analogous to your own, with minimal gimmicks past whatever few unique points their chatacter might dictate. For whatever reason, all the examples I can think of are from spectacle fighters: Jetstream Sam from MGR:R, Credo Angelo from DMC4, or Prince Vorkken from The Wonderful 101.
Mr. Freeze has long been my favorite Batman villain so I was beyond thrilled back when Arkham City came out with how they did his boss fight. And all these years later, it holds up. It's easiily the best boss fight in the game. I wish Rocksteady had continued to innovate with the boss battles in Arkham Knight.
Big recommendation for me is ZeroRanger’s true final boss. The one and only time I will ever advocate for save file deletion, purely for how fantastic and thematic it is with such sky-high stakes. A close second is Streets Of Rogue’s Mayor if you’re willing to stretch the definition a little due to the myriad of strategies you can employ to beat him. Sekiro’s Sword Saint Isshin and FTL’s Rebel Flagship also come to mind.
Love the content! We definitely need a video about Chef Saltbaker from Cuphead! The real final boss of the game Edit: just got to the end of the video where you say you will be looking at King Dice. Man I really want you to look at so many Cuphead bosses
Lore and gamewise, Freeze is easily one of my favorite bosses from the arkham series. Looking past the suit and cold exterior (no pun intended) Victor Fries is easily one of Batman's most human adversaries. And then there's the fact that no matter how many times he tries to slip into obscurity, people refuse to let him.
I would suggest a video breaking down Majora from The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask, extremely tough fight with some workarounds (fierce deity) and by far the hardest Zelda fight imo.
Great video! one boss i thought might be cool to look at is borderlands 2’s final boss, or more accurately the games final boss sequence; handsome jack and the warrior. these bosses were always notable for me becauseof how hamdsome jack’s defeat was handled, as he is the most interesting character in the whole series. while the fights themselves arent anything too notable (being only about 15% more than just a classic borderlands2 bullet sponge boss) i still think it would be worth taking a look at. (if only for jack lol)
I just got recomended your channel through the Slay the Spire vid and after watching it and this video as well I hope that you will come back from whatever was the reason that you stopped uploading because I love listening to you analyzing bosses in games
Mr Freeze is a very smart villain, he can prevent you from using the same move over and over again. He completely froze the former GCPD lab, which is probably as cold as the Arctic. Mr Freeze obviously needs to live in a very cold environment to survive, but how does Batman withstand Sub-Zero Temperatures? Nevermind, because he’s Batman, duh! (It’s always because he’s Batman)
Freeze is a hard as hell boss on your first ever play through But when you've beaten the game dozens of times like I have you can get through his fight easily 5 minutes tops even on the highest difficulty
The only criticism of this boss i have is you cant truly appreciate this boss unless you play on a high difficulty. Easy and normal his health is lower so you dont have to use many options. But on hard you legit have to think since on each takedown your options are limited. He also jams the suit analysis Oracle provides so you cant see what takedowns are still available. He also gains increased damage and walking speed if Nora's sculptures are touched. AND you can screw yourself severely if you do certain takedowns too early in the fight.
When i was playing first time in Arkham City, this fight was cool... but right now, after a lot of time playing this game, this is the easiest boss fight in entire series XD

I know that this is an old video and I know that this is an old videogame but really what the hell there’s no checkpoints at the boss fight with freeze what kind of joke is that
I'll be honest, despite the massive praise this fight gets, i think it's mediocre For a first run, it's neat and interesting But when I'm on New Game+, it's just incredibly boring, tedious and annoying since I have to find 10 incredibly specific ways to partially damage a constantly moving enemy that can 3 shot me from across the map.
Wish you made more man, this is amazing!
Mr freeze is probably my favourite fight in the entire Arkham series, he’s also my favourite batman villain
He makes you actually think and use your array of gadgets, this is what I love, everything else is basically me just doing the same thing over and over to slowly beat the room
Stealth wise: Mr freeze
Combat wise: Deathstroke

Can you remind me which is the UI element?
Oracle will contact you sometime during the fight and send you a list of all the moves you can possibly do to take him down

sad you gave up
Freeze is definitely a highlight of the series and an incredible boss fight, but I still feel The End from MGS3 is the best stealth boss.
True, but my favorite part about The End is that you can wait a week and he dies of old age lmao
I always skipped that fight
How do you not have over 100k subs! This video is so well made. I was sure I was watching a big TH-camr! Incredible video!!
Not enough content for a new channel. You can't start with a video a month, the algorythms won't push you.
You right
it is incorrect though. A basic opinion
I know that these videos are over a year old but i ahve really enjoyed them! I hope that you make more in the future, i enjoy ypur analysis.

I just watched your slay the spire video and was so impressed! Id really love to see more if you ever come back to this format
As an aspiring indie game dev, a channel like yours is an absolute godsend!
This channel is so good, I love it! I hope you can come back
Bro, surprised you haven't blown up yet. Subbed.

Please come back! Bosses are one of my favorite parts of games, and a channel dedicated to talking about their design is awesome
I completely expect something like Slave Knight Gael or Nameless King or Ludwig the Holy Blade to end up on this series.
More suggestions - Gna from GOW Ragnarök or Sigrún from GOW 2018, and the final battle vs Leshy or the end of act 3 from Inscryption

I only learned recently that you can glide kick him, which will cause him to release vapors that freeze your cape so you can't glide around anymore.
2.69k, With this quality? damn, can't wait to join ya for the ride
Mr. Freeze is a cool boss 🥶

Three videos and I'm already getting your Channel recommended. Keep up the great work!
Amazing video! Its insanely impressive how high the production value is for a channel with under 200 subs
Great vid my guy
Thank you so much! First comment on the channel!
@@finestfights7602 making that also a new sub man! Good content
Nice video, subbed.
I don’t know if you’re still making videos but The Lich from Enter The Gungeon is one of my favorite fights of all time.

This is such a good channel, seems like just a matter of time before it blows up
Had to sub with how well this video is made
The 2nd greatest afte "the end" from mgs3
The soundtrack that plays during the fight, though. 🔥🔥🔥
Good video. It's been many years since I played game but I remember you can also lure Freeze by destroying Nora ice statue
Excellent vid.
All of your videos are really interesting to watch, please keep making them!
Is that Cuphead King Dice video still coming?
Really cool series so far! Really great structure and discussion, I'm saving these as game design refs.
I would suggest a video breaking down Majora from The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask, extremely tough fight with some workarounds (fierce deity) and by far the hardest Zelda fight imo.

First time I did ng+ I struggled with tying to remember all the possible take downs. Which lead to me getting hit at times and some trial and errors
You should God of War Ragnorok the Thor Boss battle
Game Maker's Toolkit would be proud
Crazy part is freeze can actually prevent batman from using his Cape and I could not glide lol

Eh. Glad you enjoyed it. But the best stealth boss is The End from mgs 3
another channel that proves you don't make it big on youtube by making good content. Fr tho great job
sounds kinda rude but ok
