Hello. I was thinking of collecting a lot of the f1 models but there are so many I want and that it’s going to cost a lot. I would like to ask why you collect them? And what you gain from it?
Hi, there really is no gain to buying or owning the models apart from my own enjoyment. 😊 Of course some become incredibly valuable later in life when they are no longer available such as the 2016 Haas cars but for the most part, what you pay for them is what you will get back if you were to sell them. I guess the only benefit to them is that if you ever needed some money quickly and you have a large enough collection you can always sell them and use them as a form of investment but like I say I don't do it for that. My enjoyment is Formula 1 and I love collecting these models to quickly be able to look back at the sports history, such as teams, drivers and development of cars over the years. I admit it has got out of hand a little bit now but it's something I enjoy so why not. 😊
How different are the Minichamps cases compared to Spark ? I have the cars like you, one on top of the other and I don't know if the Minichamps will fit on the collection with my sparks or It will be hard to pile them up.
Spark are flat bottomed cases and slightly bigger than Minichamps ones. It can be done where you can stack them but only if Spark are on the bottom. Hope that helps. 😊👍
Wow ! What a great collection. I am from India and it is so difficult to get even a basic Burrago. Could you please suggest websites (aprt from EBay) who do international shipping? Best wishes for future collection
Thanks! 😊 No there's not a lot of difference between the two models detail wise I do find the Spark slightly more detailed with the aerials but near as makes no difference. The only thing I would say gives Spark the edge is that they have their own unique boxes/cases for each Team which look really cool. 😊👍
@courtneybertrand7858 Any specific year or are you just wanting a complete list? 😊 In recent years (since 2017) Minichamps have made every race car, except Ferrari who are produced by LookSmart. 2010 to 2016 Minichamps produced each race car for everyone except Ferrari which were Hot Wheels until 2015 and then 2015 onwards produced by LookSmart. The 3 new teams of 2010, Virgin, Lotus, HRT, Caterham, Manor and all their other various names, they were produced by Spark. 2013 Williams were Spark only too, weirdly.
Yes I do have 2015 - 2019 Ferrari cars I forgot to mention. They are made by a company called Looksmart, very nice models but very expensive at around £100 per model for 1:43 scale. They are behind all the other models and not on display, again due to lack of room.
@@ilhanharith7684 I agree, they are very good quality but I question the price of them at times. Bburago are a solid option though and their quality has improved over last couple of years.
I just randomly got a notification😂, you are the guy from OversteerNetwork yes? Can I asked what happened to that channel, I used to love it🤔 Btw very impressive collection, I would love to do something like this in the future
Yes I am the guy from Oversteer, awesome that you stumbled across my channel, I'm more stupid on here than I ever was on there. 😂 It was a number of things really, I got really busy with work and I didn't have a regular shift pattern so uploads would have been erratic to say the least and we were also hit with a tonne of false copyright strikes, no sooner had we cleared one, another one came our way & became very frustrating for Mickey the owner of the channel to keep battling them. I still talk with Mickey and he is working to bring the channel back properly in the next couple of weeks & when I can I'll be on there to do the odd video but no more Cruel Wall sadly. Thanks, I'm glad you like my collection, started in 2006 so been at it a while now. 😊👍
@@amnaah653 Thanks buddy, it won't be too much longer before the channel is back up and running. 😊👍 The Cruel Wall only had 2 seasons 2017 on my channel & 2018 over on Oversteer. Sometimes it's always best to end things on a high than let them fade away into obscurity.
Thank you very much. 😊👍 Another update video will be coming soon once I have the 2020 cars in my collection too. 😊 Also thank you for the sub, I massively appreciate it. 👌
I would personally rate Spark as being slightly better on quality and having team colours on the box is cool too but they don't make the whole grid so if you are wanting the entire grid with exception of Ferrari of course then I would recommend Minichamps for continuity within your collection. If it's just a certain driver or Team you prefer and Spark make them then it has to be Spark every time. 😊👍
@@TheMoaningYorkshireman thanks mate for your reply, really informative! i was on the fence between minichamps and spark, but now i know which to go for, appreciate it!
From the past 20 years of F1 all I am missing is the 2002 Jaguar & the 2002 BAR. For some odd reason they were never manufactured. Otherwise I have 1 of every type & make of F1 from that period.
Yes that's what I'm missing too, never made by any manufacturer. So bizarre. Since this video I am now complete 1998 - 2019 and just waiting for my 2020 grid to arrive, they have been ordered. 😊👍
@@TheMoaningYorkshireman I am continuing to add older F1's to my collection(I have sort of converted my loft space too) but am a bit sad not to continue after 2019 & seeing all of the 2020 models now being released. For me I've got to draw a line. I also have over 450 BBR, MR, etc high end 1/43 Ferrari's going back to 1947. I've halted them from the 2019 model year, all but 1 current BBR F1 per year
@@GBURGE55 Very nice, the BBR Models look incredibly detailed but can be expensive at times. Yes I absolutely agree that you have to draw a line somewhere, I will have to stop at some point but I am not going before 1998 apart from the odd one. There will come a point where I can't go any further forward either due to space but at the moment the space I've made I've got enough to go to 2022 so that's future problems! 😂
Depends on what yeah you want to collect. If you want to go early such as 98, 99 you'd be looking around £15 - £20 off eBay. The latest models from 2014 onwards you're looking around £55 - £75 so gets quite expensive.
😂 😂 😂 Thanks buddy, yeah been collecting almost 14yrs now so it's certainly not happened overnight. Think there's almost 600 now in 1:43 & 1:18 but I have officially lost count! 😂 😂 😂
Thanks mate. 😊 To be honest out of Minichamps & Hotwheels, Minichamps are the best between those two but overall I would go with Spark. Spark are the best brand for design of the boxes and also the detailing of the models. Spark though unfortunately tend to deal with the cars that are lower down the end of the field and don't do a complete grid. The Ferrari's are now done by a new company called Looksmart from 2015 onwards and they are nice models but very expensive for what they are.
Hi there mate, hope you are doing fine, I have saved some money to buy a new formula 1 model. 2001 McLaren M.hakkinen(Minichamps), 2016 Renault winter test car(Spark), 2009 Williams N.Rosberg show car(Minichamps), 2008 Toro Rosso S.Vettel(IXO). So, which is the best model I can buy in one of these?
Hi buddy, I'd be tempted to go for either the Vettel or Hakkinen models out of those to be honest if it was me. 😊👍 Don't worry I haven't forgot about the Mercedes video, I've been having car troubles this week which has taken up most of my time but thankfully it's fixed now. 👌I should have it up by Monday. 😊👍
@@mithrandhananjayan5709 Thank you buddy. 😊 Just a quick note, for all 2009 F1 cars, always get the race car versions where possible and avoid the Showcars as every car is identical regardless of the team. They are literally just the same cast with a different livery on them.
@@TheMoaningYorkshireman Yeah even I thought of the same thing, but I found this Williams show car for 30$, and you said that the 2009 cars were a bit rare, that is why I'm keen on buying it.... so all the cars on that list are the same price...... so, which one do you think is good for around 30$?
@@mithrandhananjayan5709 So for 2009 the rarest are the Brawn GP's & Force India's but all of the grid are quite hard to get a hold of. The Showcars can be rare in some cases such as a Leclerc 2018 Alfa Romeo but for the most part they are often available for a reasonable price. 👍
Hi I'm just starting in the hobby I've watched many hours of reviews on youtube and like all beginners asked questions because I simply knew nothing but after a time there were 3 things that I had made a decision on which was 1 The only scale I want is 1/43 . 2 of all the model cars I've seen on eBay and youtube my favourite is the F1 3 my favourite brand is SPARK I've just discovered by chance today a seller who specialises in F1 and I've been going through there stock and making a list of the cars I like and hope to buy. I've just watched your video showing your F1 collection and your obviously very passionate about in what you do so my question is what would you advise in regards to displaying such models it's my intentions to keep the few F1s that I buy in their protective cases and in a display case this can either be situated in my living room which like most homes has central heating or it can be in a small spare bedroom where the heating can remain switched off your help and advice will be most welcome and appreciated I have liked and subscribed to your channel regards Paul
Hiya Paul, thank you for subscribing etc. massively appreciated on all fronts. 😊👍 My main advice to you for displaying models would be to not rush into getting display cabinets or bespoke shelving straight away. Gradually build up your collection one at a time and sit them on a shelf you already have away from sunlight and the models will be fine. Once your collection grows to a point where you may need to buy something specifically for your models I would always recommend using a spare room to do this in because if your collection gets out of hand you don't have to resituate your collection again (I made this mistake!) In regards to displaying your models, you can use anything really from glass cabinets to general storage shelving like mine. I would always recommend making the size of the shelf double the size that you actually need, again this is so you still have room if you ever run out to put older models behind, they won't be on display but at least they are safe. One thing I would recommend is when you do start making a room or area bespoke to your F1 Collection, purchase a cheap dehumidifier to put in the room to soak up any moisture. As you may have seen in this video some of my outter casings have started to yellow and this is due to the room being naturally damp, I didn't realise this until it was too late but it will no doubt save others collections from my mistake. The dehumidifiers aren't expensive, from my local shops such as B&M, Home Bargains and Wilko are £10 for the unit itself and it comes with a tablet that absorbs moisture, these last around 3-4 weeks but depend on the amount of damp in the room of course and refill tablets for a pack of 2 are £5 each time. A small price to pay to save the collection. As always of course make sure your models are away from direct sunlight as this is a killer to both the case and the model. Sunlight that may be on the models just for 1hr in a morning etc. is nothing too major but they will fade as time progresses so if this is unavoidable then try to rearrange your collection every 3-6 months so it's not the same model being affected. It sounds counterintuitive but the best way to keep your collection in tip top condition for longer. The key thing is don't try to jump into it, build the collection slowly or at your own pace and purchase the models you really want first to avoid potential future disappointment, this includes new releases. Spark are lovely models and the outer packaging on them is really nice, there is a lot of reputable sellers on eBay and once we're back to normal see if you have a local Toy & Train Collectors Fair, there may be some stalls that specifically sell F1 Models, you never know. I hope this helps you and any further questions please get back in touch. 😊👍
@@TheMoaningYorkshireman Thank you very much for giving me so much sound advice as this means a lot it's by asking such people as yourself that can save so many mistakes from beginners such as myself the seller I found on eBay just by chance are based at Silverstone and F1 is their speciality I noticed you mentioned the humidifier in the video and this is something I shall be looking into I've drawn up a bit of a list and will send it to you tomorrow as I would like your opinion we have quite a few toy fairs in Lancashire, unfortunately, I live in a town were the Indian virus is getting out of control and we are top of the list, but fingers crossed we will get it under control and I will be off looking around the toy fairs will be in touch tomorrow take care and stay safe Regards Paul

I am busy tomorrow so may be late evening tomorrow when I do reply but rest assured I will. 😊 You're going to the right way about things asking for advice is always key, it's something I do myself when discovering something new, at the time I started collecting these models however I never realised how out of control it would become so just kind learnt along the way. 😂 That's such a shame, we currently have 30 cases of a new 'Sheffield' varient here too. I think we all just need to remain vigilant and cautious but I have every faith in what we are doing as country and particularly the NHS and vaccination roll out to get through this. The Indian varient does seem more transmissible but thankfully from what we are being told hospitalisation and death is still incredibly low so we are doing something right. 🙏❤️ Stay safe.

@@TheMoaningYorkshireman Yeah i understand Josh lets hope they come back this year but to be honest i cannot see it, its May now thats a lot of races to cram in and as its a global sport i cannot see it happening.
@@f1gamesplaystation787 The UK have said football can start again from 1st June if this 'period' of lockdown we are in now is successful, which let's face it won't be! Not only that but it's only the UK that has even mentioned any kind of sporting events to take place soon. Everyone else is still doing lockdown properly. I honestly believe they need to scrap it for this year and just tell teams to use their 2020 cars in 2021. That way if this lockdown ends up going well in to winter this year then it won't effect the 2021 season having no cars built.
@@TheMoaningYorkshireman Yeah true Josh and the money they have lost now they can recoup a bit by not building new cars which must be one of the most expensive things for any team.
@@f1gamesplaystation787 Exactly, if they start the season late for whatever reason then it'll just have knock on effect into 2021 with development and everything. Better off just calling this season a write off and start again in 2021. An F1 car cost millions to build plus all the spares packages, engine & gearbox deals. Just defer everything for 1yr to allow the little teams to regroup and go again!
Not from me directly, none of my models are for sale. Took a long time to get this far. My best suggestions would be eBay, always a bargain to be had on there or a company called CK Models, based in Germany with worldwide shipping.
Well I order the new grids in one go so most of the time I order them and they all turn up at the same time. The 2020 is arriving to me in the next few weeks and it will cost me over £1500 but because I have the rest of the years I don't spend anymore money for the rest of the year. They're based in Germany and Post worldwide, a fantastic company and when the 2020 cars come out, they tend to reduce the prices of the 2019 cars. 😊👍 There's currently a 10% sale on at the moment on everything and I recommend if you're based in the UK to pay in Euros via PayPal as it works out cheaper by a few quid. 👌 Here's the link. ck-modelcars.de/en/l/t-gesamt/k-formel1/a-18/p-1/

Oh wow, I'm sure there is but I wouldn't know it personally. Perhaps there maybe a forum or perhaps a Facebook Group dedicated to Schumacher which could help?
That's really surprising. Maybe the best option is to find the individual lists from Minichamps, Hotwheels and anyone else who potentially made them and then put the list together. Bit of a long way around but could be the only way to do it.

@@TheMoaningYorkshireman Your very welcome.
Very impressive collection. Much money been spent there. Have a lot of your wealth in assets. Got nearly 3 times as many as me.
Yes collecting since 2006 and not stopping any time soon, especially now I've made space! 😂

@@TheMoaningYorkshireman Alright! Thanks!
Wow ! What a great collection. I am from India and it is so difficult to get even a basic Burrago. Could you please suggest websites (aprt from EBay) who do international shipping? Best wishes for future collection
Best one I can suggest is CK Models based in Germany, they ship worldwide. 😊👍
@@TheMoaningYorkshireman Thanks !
Amazing collection mate, is there much difference compared to the minichamps and spark?
Thanks! 😊 No there's not a lot of difference between the two models detail wise I do find the Spark slightly more detailed with the aerials but near as makes no difference. The only thing I would say gives Spark the edge is that they have their own unique boxes/cases for each Team which look really cool. 😊👍
And i thought my collection was large! Fantastic!
Thank you. 😊❤️
Do you have a list of every car I would like to find a list for collection purposes
I'm really sorry I don't.
Ok, thank you for the reply. I'm mainly want to know the rare cars so I know what I need to be looking for
@courtneybertrand7858 Any specific year or are you just wanting a complete list? 😊 In recent years (since 2017) Minichamps have made every race car, except Ferrari who are produced by LookSmart.
2010 to 2016 Minichamps produced each race car for everyone except Ferrari which were Hot Wheels until 2015 and then 2015 onwards produced by LookSmart. The 3 new teams of 2010, Virgin, Lotus, HRT, Caterham, Manor and all their other various names, they were produced by Spark. 2013 Williams were Spark only too, weirdly.
Wow!!!!! Just wow!!
Thanks! 😊👌
do you have the ferrari cars too? for your complete grid sets. asking since ferrari is not made by minichamps
Yes I do have 2015 - 2019 Ferrari cars I forgot to mention. They are made by a company called Looksmart, very nice models but very expensive at around £100 per model for 1:43 scale. They are behind all the other models and not on display, again due to lack of room.
@@TheMoaningYorkshireman great! ive only managed to afford burago ones, always wanted the looksmarts but they are too expensive
@@ilhanharith7684 I agree, they are very good quality but I question the price of them at times. Bburago are a solid option though and their quality has improved over last couple of years.
I just randomly got a notification😂, you are the guy from OversteerNetwork yes?
Can I asked what happened to that channel, I used to love it🤔
Btw very impressive collection, I would love to do something like this in the future
Yes I am the guy from Oversteer, awesome that you stumbled across my channel, I'm more stupid on here than I ever was on there. 😂
It was a number of things really, I got really busy with work and I didn't have a regular shift pattern so uploads would have been erratic to say the least and we were also hit with a tonne of false copyright strikes, no sooner had we cleared one, another one came our way & became very frustrating for Mickey the owner of the channel to keep battling them. I still talk with Mickey and he is working to bring the channel back properly in the next couple of weeks & when I can I'll be on there to do the odd video but no more Cruel Wall sadly.

Thank you very much. 😊👍 Another update video will be coming soon once I have the 2020 cars in my collection too. 😊 Also thank you for the sub, I massively appreciate it. 👌
which brand would u recommend? minichamps or spark? thanks
No problem at all, happy collecting. 😊👍
Very impressive collection, how expensive are the cars usually?
Depends on what yeah you want to collect. If you want to go early such as 98, 99 you'd be looking around £15 - £20 off eBay. The latest models from 2014 onwards you're looking around £55 - £75 so gets quite expensive.
@@TheMoaningYorkshireman Wow that’s amazing, one last question, can they come out of its stand and case?

hi, that is impressive collection. how is quality of hot wheels Ferrari compered to minichamps?
@@TheMoaningYorkshireman Mate no problem you can take your time on the Mercedes video. :) :)

I've just watched your video showing your F1 collection and your obviously very passionate about in what you do so my question is what would you advise in regards to displaying such models it's my intentions to keep the few F1s that I buy in their protective cases and in a display case this can either be situated in my living room which like most homes has central heating or it can be in a small spare bedroom where the heating can remain switched off your help and advice will be most welcome and appreciated I have liked and subscribed to your channel
regards Paul
Hiya Paul, thank you for subscribing etc. massively appreciated on all fronts. 😊👍
My main advice to you for displaying models would be to not rush into getting display cabinets or bespoke shelving straight away.
@@TheMoaningYorkshireman Thank you very much for giving me so much sound advice as this means a lot it's by asking such people as yourself that can save so many mistakes from beginners such as myself the seller I found on eBay just by chance are based at Silverstone and F1 is their speciality I noticed you mentioned the humidifier in the video and this is something I shall be looking into I've drawn up a bit of a list and will send it to you tomorrow as I would like your opinion we have quite a few toy fairs in Lancashire, unfortunately, I live in a town were the Indian virus is getting out of control and we are top of the list, but fingers crossed we will get it under control and I will be off looking around the toy fairs will be in touch tomorrow take care and stay safe

That's such a shame, we currently have 30 cases of a new 'Sheffield' varient here too.
But will there be any 2020 cars to add to your collection if no car turns a wheel this season can they include them?
They are realising Launch/Test cars, basically the ones that turned up to Barcelona testing but I won't be buying those. I'll only get the cars once they are from a season or a specific race. 😊👍
So... do you expect the scarlet cars to increase or decrease in value following Vettel's news?
They can only increase I'm sure. 👍
Would I be able to purchase any?
Not from me directly, none of my models are for sale. Took a long time to get this far. My best suggestions would be eBay, always a bargain to be had on there or a company called CK Models, based in Germany with worldwide shipping.
How many money do you spend in one month for this formula 1s?
Well I order the new grids in one go so most of the time I order them and they all turn up at the same time. The 2020 is arriving to me in the next few weeks and it will cost me over £1500 but because I have the rest of the years I don't spend anymore money for the rest of the year. When I started my collection I used to go for the cheapest models and I would spend approximately £50-£60 a month back in the day but this was before I had a proper job or any reliable income. 😊👍
