Much appreciated Nathan. Developing speed with control and consistency is crucial for every level and for beginners leads to being able to rally. All good here thanks and the same goes for you. We are finally getting some sun after a long wet winter in the UK so it's great getting back on the outdoor courts 🌞
@@PatrickSmithTennis Thank you, rain and snow ❄️ in the forecast today and tomorrow here in the Northwest U.S. but hopefully warmer weather in a few days. A very important lesson that you gave about Pro players hitting much higher above the net than it looks on the TV! 🎾👍 Excellent! 🙏
@nathanmiller605 I agree Nathan, tennis should be an outdoor sport if possible. However, as a coach, I feel very fortunate to have indoor courts as with the winter we have had so many sessions would have been cancelled! I get soft playing indoors and can't imagine being at an outdoor only venue like when I was a junior but we just used to get on with it 😂
Kind of obvious now, but one thing I was not very clear about is that involving your whole body in the kinetic chain doesn’t mean your hitting as hard as you can. The problem I seem to have is that when I think about hitting at 7/10 I stop moving my body or doing my unit turn. Even worse, when I do think about hitting hard, I already forgot about a good unit turn, just because I was not practicing it a 7/10.
Thanks for the comment @mauricioventanas I think a lot of players have that connection between speed and technique mechanics if it's not explained to them. When trying to learn something as fast and complicated as a tennis stroke the best way is to first do it slow otherwise like you said unless it is already ingrained in your subconscious your old muscle memory will take over. Good luck 💪!
Thanks for your suggestion @babyblu5590 that's noted will do. I had also noticed the interference on the mic as it was a particularly windy day. Apologies I hope it did not detract too much from the information in the video.
So much great information in this video Coach Patrick! hope this finds you well, appreciate 🙋♂️ 🙏

@@nathanmiller6051 So we are not the only ones haha. I hope you have indoor courts then Nathan!
@@PatrickSmithTennis I've played indoors before over the years, haha I don't really like it, I am a outdoors tennis guy! 💯🎾👍

Try to get fur for your mic to break the excessive wind noise.
