    I highly recommend you record yourself when you’re teaching your “class”. Not only will you benefit from teaching the material, but you can also hear the recording later to get a refresher and receive the knowledge.
    I found this to be extremely useful because I’d understand the information right after the lecture and record myself teaching it, then when exam time comes, I have my own teacher that thinks the same way I do. I hope y’all use this tip because it changed my studying to the better.

    Writing your own summary and explaining it out loud was really the trick for me for my final Biology exam! I studied in super short time, but managed to remember everything pretty well by re-writing topicwise over and over again until I could say it all by heart.

    I would suggest adding a system like Anki into your studying. It's program spaced repetition helps you to go over the things you don't know well more frequently, whilst going over the things you do know well less frequently. That way you are utilising your study time on your weaknesses. Much love x

    Being almost done with medical school, I back this up. Although everyone needs to figure out what works and doesn't. That's why medical school can be extremely intense. Not only do you have volume, you have to be able to process what that volume of data is in such a short period of time. Examinations test students in 3rd or 4th order multiple choice questions. Therefore it is absolutely critical do as many practice problems as possible in addition to passive reading/writing. The addition of thousands of practice problems put me at the top of my class in my opinion.

      love the insight from someone farther along in the process! Good luck with the rest of training!

    One way that I do , is the first time I write my notes on the lecture slides, and them the second time I organize everything on A4 paper using my own words and sometimes drawing charts and tables and comparing ideas, and then I memorize and revise before the exam. It takes time of course I don't do this for all the classes only for the hard ones for the easy ones I just stick to the slides I don't rewrite them. Good luck everyone. Oh and another thing always revise w/ friends and ask each other questions it's really helpful.

    Try to study from ipad it saves a lot of time and you can record the whole lecture(voice)
    Also you can write all your notes and change them as you like but in papers you have to rewrite everything which cost a lot of time

    hi love! I love your videos so much and I would really appreciate if you made a video along the lines of how to know if medicine is the right way to go for you, for awhile I thought it seems so hard and although I am a bright straight A student I've been told multiple times that you have to be a genius. When you said that no matter how bright you are med school has taught you that working hard is the most important thing, I really took something from that and would love a whole video dedicated to advice along those lines. Thank you so so much!

    It's cool when you can record your lecture, we are not allowed to film or take photos in the lecture room and I find it so stressful when taking notes because the professor often says something good and important to know which is not written on the slides and which you can't go back to.. and I only have time to write down half of it if even that

    Thank you for this! This is really helpful. I used to do handwritten notes as well, but I stopped, because it took too much time. I should really revisit this technique again. I rarely write on the lecture slides, because I prefer keeping them on my iPad than printing them out. I only write things down when I feel like it's really, really important. I also write down the things I want to get back to later. I usually just stick to reading the slides and lecturing myself. For topics I want to review or I can't quite grasp, I try to watch short lecture video lectures from the Lecturio app or other lecture videos on TH-cam.

  • @RecyAnna
    @RecyAnna 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I used to do a combo of who you did. so i would have the power points and write on them and draw out or write out any important concepts and then i would teach the objects in my room so to speak fr. the paper and keep doing it until i could go without the paper. However (I am in nursing school, not medical school) the time to do all this is not always there for me so half of this i dont get to do. Which is sad because this way totally works, because you are seeing it, hearing it, working it it, and the repetition of it all. I'm going to try to go back to this for the next exam tho and 2 more things id throw in would be small study groups (even if it's 2 days before the exam...different minds think of diff. concepts) and test questions (idk about med. school test questions but for nursing school...which orange is more orange is reality...so prep questions help to get you thinking for both class exams and NCLEX)

    I've tried both those ways too!! And I realized that the hand written notes are waaaay better..
    But one thing I realized is that they can get really messy when you want to go back to some info after a while so I decided to make my own electronic notes and charts and save them all in a drive which was the best thing that I ever did!!! Now it's sooo easy for me to go back to those notes wherever I am and I could use my phone or laptop or any computer to get to those which saved me sooo much time

      capgains I’m not in Ned school cause I’m only 15 but I had the same problem and I just kept repeating it until I was able to remember. So instead of doing it once a day do it twice a day or three times a day . If you do it three times a day try to two times back to back and then the third time wait like an hour . So it helps with your memorizing it ! Hopefully that made sense:)

    How do you organize your planner? Like what do you write in there that helps you study?

    I can't pretend to talk to a 'class that doesn't exist' because I would get bored quickly. I retain information well by explaining and talking about the concepts out loud with a friend or two. Not many people in my class want to study together but there's this one great classmate who will put up with me xD.
