Well done, at that scale to have the flaps and slats extended is awesome. Love the VF-84 markings. I am an old US Navy TOMCAT maintainer so anything F-14 catches my attention. New Subscriber!!
@@EdsAttentionToDetail ah thank you, I really appreciate your comments! Especially from a veteran! Growing up in the UK in the 80’s , it was all F-14’s and F-4’s for me, loved them. Especially the US liveries! I’ve got a 1/48 and 1/32 Tomcat kits still to do! Thanks for subscribing!
@@hardysscalemodels 80s kid here in Canada obsessed w F-14s too - great build! I'm almost finished my 1/72 VF-84 (or VF-111 as it comes with both) decaled 1/72 Tomcat. Been out of modeling since around 1993 or so, I just picked up my 1st airbrush and built a practice 1/144 VF-114 jet a month or so ago as practice before graduating to 1/72. Just wish I'd kept my 1/48 Revell VF-142 jet from when I was a kid. I saved a lot of Tomcat stuff but only have the vertical stab for it now sadly. At any rate, videos like yours are an immense help for someone new at this stuff, so thanks!
LOVE Hasegawa kits...currently building a 1/72 F-16D (kit number 00445) but doung it in a white, black and gray "urban " camo.....not to be confused with "winter" camo which is normally either white and gray or white and green
@@andrewtang3108 thank you! I guess it’s like any hobby, you can spend a lot, or spend a lot less. Buying second hand kits online can save you money, as can just buying the essentials you need. For instance a knife, sanding sticks, nippers and brushes. But the kit I have has built up over time, I only buy new kit when I need to upgrade/replace. Hope this helps.
Awesome
Thank you!

@@EdsAttentionToDetail subbed you back too 👍🏻
@@hardysscalemodels, looking forward to see you work your magic. Do you know what markings you will be using for them?
@@EdsAttentionToDetail not sure about the 1/48, but thinking of the Sundowners if I can get aftermarket decals for the 1/32 kit.

@@jaws848 yeah they’re lovely kits!
Share some photos when you’re done?

Nice build I’m trying to get into the hobby, what type of resources did you need and how much did it cost?

@ thanks hope I can get into the hobby soon, if you have any specific suggestions for paints for this build please let me know
@@andrewtang3108 I tend to use Tamiya acrylics. Easy to find, decent quality and not expensive.
Just got my hands on a similar kit, was wondering if you have a list of paints you used
@ hi. Mainly Tamiya acrylics, but the main grey colour I used was Mr Hobby Aqueous H51, Light Gull Grey.
Great build dude!! Thanks for the shout out glad i could help
You’re very welcome mate!
