      You are absolutely correct. I have adopted a system of clearing ALL my watched videos. Then choosing a random non political subject. What do their algorithms do ? Send me more boring divisive political videos. This, despite the fact that I pay for their 'Premium' service. I used to watch TH-cam for an hour or so (when it was varied & interesting) in the evening and then read a book for an hour or so, before going to bed. Why have TH-cam allowed it to deteriorate ? Do they not want to keep their customers ?

      @@bobrussell3602 Yes, and youtube wants you to make comments and interact in the comments, but as long as you are going through comments (with video over or paused), there are No ads. I also use the ad center to block almost every ad as they start.

      @@davebrown9725 Thanks for your reply. I use ad blocker on everything & it works. It's free, but every now & again they send me an email telling me how many ads they've blocked for me & asking for a voluntary contribution. I must admit my conscience is troubling me, so next time I will make a payment. Why do you think TH-cam has gone downhill ? I keep clearing & then choosing non political subjects : oceanography, archaeology & so forth, but it sends me these at first, but soon reverts to divisive party politics. Any ideas why it's gone downhill & what we can do about it ?

I can't even come up with a ludicrous idea as to why they would cut a stunning tree down. But we will soon find out. I hope these two get a bit time behind bars if found guilty, prison won't be a nice place for these, i hope they send them down here to walton, liverpool, we'll look after them.

    • @TheEulerID
      @TheEulerID 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      Be careful about assuming guilt at this phase. It is sub-judice at this stage, and if a judge felt that public comments could bias a jury, then it can cause a trial to be abandoned and those who publish such comments can be held to be in contempt of court.
      It is fair comment after a verdict, not before.

    • @bobburton3982
      @bobburton3982 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TheEulerID It's, not a, question that effects subjudice rules. I'm not accusing anyone of anything, I'm just asking if they have given a reason. Obviously if they upheld their right to silence then the answer is, clearly no. Which is acceptable and within their rights.
      I only ask because I did hear they'd talked about it so purely curiosity. I deliberately didn't assume guilt for that reason. Maybe I could've phrased it better rereading it.
      I get theft from people, violence against others, drugs - even murder. Shit happens. But a tree? I'm just at a, loss as to ANY reason someone would destroy something for no reason. It's like all vandalism - I don't get it. And this from an ex con. Bizarre.

      "‘Contempt of court’ happens when someone risks unfairly influencing a court case. It may stop somebody from getting a fair trial and can affect a trial’s outcome.
      Contempt of court includes:
      publicly commenting on a court case, for example on social media or online news articles"
      Edited down a bit. Sub judice runs wider than just that though.
      A very recent example of somebody who has been prosecuted for it in recent times is Tommy Robinson who has just been imprisoned for 18 months for the offence.
      Basically, in UK law, you are not meant to publish anything which might bias a jury trial. Appearing to assume guilt could be one.
      Cases have been abandoned because of this in the past. These days jurists are specifically told they must not look up anything to do with the case on the Internet precisely because of social media.
