I loved your video. I have been a CNA for 3 1/2 years and working only in nursing homes. Just got hired at the hospital for 12 hour nightshift in med/surg so am trying to make sure i go in atleast knowing somewhat of what I will have to do.
Hi, great video! Can you share what shift change report looks like? Do you go room to room with the next PCT and give a rundown of all the vital information about the patients, what is that process and how long does it usually take?
Hello,I’m sorry for very late reply. Our Shift change report we go room to room and introduce our self to the patient and let the patient know whose gonna take over. During report we need to know the patient diagnoses, how patient ambulating if the patient is bed bound or independent, thier diet, if the patients has a drain ( foley catheter,hemovac,jp drain etc ) also if the patient is conscious or unconscious and if the patient is for glucose test. It’s just a quick report like every room take about 2-5 mins. But there’s a time we go to room while doing shift change patient ask for favor so it ‘s depend. 😊
