About Nottingham itself
Nottingham is a city and unitary authority area in Nottinghamshire, England. Part of the East Midlands region, it is 128 miles (206 km) north of London and 45 miles (72 km) north-east of Birmingham.
Nottingham has links to the legend of Robin Hood and to the lace-making, bicycle (notably Raleigh bikes) and tobacco industries. It was granted its city charter in 1897, as part of Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee celebrations. Nottingham is a tourist destination; in 2018, the city received the second highest number of overnight visitors in the Midlands and the highest number in the East Midlands.
In 2017, Nottingham had an estimated population of 329,200. The population of the city proper, compared to its regional counterparts, has been attributed to its historical and tightly-drawn city boundaries. The wider conurbation, which includes many of the city's suburbs, has a population of 768,638.
Nottingham's public transport system won awards prior to 2015, including the largest publicly owned bus network in England. The city is also served by Nottingham railway station and the modern Nottingham Express Transit tram system.
It is also a major sporting centre and, in October 2015, was named 'Home of English Sport'. The National Ice Centre, Holme Pierrepont National Watersports Centre and Trent Bridge international cricket ground are all based in or around the city, which is also the home of two professional football teams; the former world's oldest professional league club Notts County and Nottingham Forest, famously two-time winners of the UEFA European Cup under Brian Clough and Peter Taylor in 1979 and 1980. The city also has professional rugby, ice hockey and cricket teams, and the Aegon Nottingham Open, an international tennis tournament on the ATP and WTA tours. This accolade came just over a year after Nottingham was named as the UK's first City of Football.
On 11 December 2015, Nottingham was named a "City of Literature" by UNESCO, joining Dublin, Edinburgh, Melbourne and Prague as one of only a handful in the world. The title reflects Nottingham's literary heritage, with Lord Byron, D. H. Lawrence and Alan Sillitoe having links to the city, as well as a contemporary literary community, a publishing industry and a poetry scene.
The city is served by three universities: the University of Nottingham, Nottingham Trent University and the University of Law; hosting the highest concentration of higher education providers in the East Midlands.
In 2010, the city was named as one of the "Top 10 Cities to Visit in 2010" by DK Travel. In 2013 it was estimated the city received 247,000 overseas visitors. Nottingham was ranked number one for the ‘Best Value City Break’ in August 2017 by TripAdvisor.
The Robin Hood Pageant takes place in Nottingham each year and has been rebranded Robin Hood Live for 2020. The city is home to the Nottingham Robin Hood Society, founded in 1972 by Jim Lees and Steve and Ewa Theresa West.
Each February Nottingham celebrates Light Night, with dozens of free creative events illuminating the city. The city has also hosted the Nottingham Cave Festival, Nottingham Puppet Festival, The Nottingham Festival of Science and Curiosity, plus a series of outdoor film and theatre performances at historical locations throughout the summer.

What did you record the video with and what is the name of the stabilization you have use, also this video was interesting!
I used DJI osmo action with zhiyun gimbal
Very strange but interesting to see your own city where I have lived now for many years. Really enjoyed watching, great upload, thanks.

Yep
i just moved to a new country, its nice to see my home ❤️
Yeah, I spent a year live there. Many street corners look quite familiar.
Thanks for bringing me back. Love Notts
Yeah looks the same old nottingham , just different shops !
Nottingham lad born and bred, spent the last 20 years living in South Carolina, can't tell you what this meant to me. At 30.09 minutes on the video, please lookup at the old clock. 50 years ago my brother and I would run up to that location and watch the two men beating the anvil (two small figures sticking out above shop door). I am assuming they are not in operation anymore. Brought tears to my eyes, thank you. Dean Copley.
Thank you so much for watching and sharing. I hope you will be able to visit Nottingham one day. Take care 🙂
Brought tears to my eyes too! I used to live in Sherwood, now I live in Hawaii.
Thank you for sharing your story with us..
Same here, except I have been living in AZ.
This is my city I spend and have spent a lot of time building it helping people set up businesses and pushing it forwards as well as helping those in need, I am proud of this city for the most part 👍

I live in nottingham. what have you done to build this city exactly?
@@kenwkls6392 I have built gyms tattoo studio,s restaurants climbing walls and done many other things in Nottingham, if your from Nottingham then you will know me, i am the one who wears body armour all the time and bike gear as I walk my streets so if you see me come say hello I don't bite 👍
Thank you , we will look back on this in 20 plus years and see the changes , what shops are still there, look at new developments and peoples fashion sense..This is sort of a time capsule, again thank you for putting this together.

@@ExploreTheWorld you mean like watching American football, all talking heads, very little action!
yeh ;-)
Really excellent tour. I lived in Nottingham 30 years ago so it was great to see it still looking really good. Definitely a thriving city centre. Thank you for your excellent work.
Thank you for watching and your feedback 😊 I hope you will enjoy other cities at our channel 😀
Thank you for a great walk down memory lane. I was raised in the Nottingham area (Wollaton) in the 1960s and 70s. Went to Clarendon College for the drama course. Great memories of the city, clubbing and pubbing. Lived in the USA for the past 40+ years but I still dream of walking the streets of Nottingham. Somewhere in the back of my mind is seeing the fountains in Market Square full of bubbles from dish washing soap being poured into it!
Glad you enjoyed it
Great to see my city of birth ,haven't been back since i left home after leaving school at 16, i turned up the volume just to hear the nottingham accent , thank you for the tour !❤
Glad you enjoyed it ;-)
Nottingham's a Goldilocks city. Not too big, not too small, it's just right 👍
Indeed it is!
A place I've never been but now would rather like to after seeing your footage. Smooth and nicely shot as always. A pleasure to watch. All the best to you and keep them coming!
Thank you for watching and your feedback. You should visit Nottingham. Stay safe 😀
Nottingham is a fantastic city to live in pre covid there was always somthing going off. I've lived in the city for 5 years now and love it. For a city as small as it it is it packs a massive punch. The night life is amazing the variety of places to eat, friendly local people and lots of diversity and lots of intersting history and buildings thanks for sharing your walk 🙂
It really is! Thanks for watching and such a good feedback. I'm glad you liked this video. Stay tuned and safe of course ;-)
I really enjoy these walks. Its nice to see other places, especially as we cannot travel to other places at the moment. Thank you from Leeds.

I did my master degree at University of Nottingham and I have to say that my time in Nott is extremely wonderful, it feels just right for me, enough peaceful, enough dynamic. It might be long until I can visit Nottingham again but I definitely will. Miss this place a lot!
Thanks for sharing!
Its the people I miss.
Grew up in notts but been living in Australia for the past 7 years. Great to see how things are evolving back home. Been unable to get back for the last 2 years so this video is great! Do really miss the place.
I dream to move to Australia one day.
I knew a Peter Smith in Notts (West Bridgford)Could you be the same oneI wonder?
Byard lane 1970’s. I remember a lovely little boutique and Paul Smith in the back room on his sewing machine. Those were the days!
Such a beautiful city and nice walk around the alleys !! Awesome walking tour 😊👍

Well you did us proud there ! Superb camera work and highlighted our beautiful architecture perfectly . Nicely paced too. I"ve always thought Nottm City Council have not made the most of our local hero ( Robin ) tourism wise and your lovely film emphasises this . Well done on an excellence piece of work 😊👏👏👏
Thanks a lot! I so happy to read your feedback. You made me proud of my work ;-) Stay safe and tuned my friend.
I am enjoying this walking tour. Thumbs up!
Thank you very much!
I spent 5 months in Nott 15 years ago when I took a course at NTU. I always went around in the town and the outskirts. However, many places in this vdo I hadn't been to. This reminds me of my good time there. Thanks.

Not sure if you should bother.
Amazing one, so detailed and accurate... beautiful city♥️Thank you for sharing, as usual🙌🙏
Thank you so much 😀
@cody Jarrett never thought... what's happening there exactly?🤔
@cody Jarrett I wouldn't say its turned into a dangerous city, no more than visiting another city in the UK.
@Jacob Brettle I wouldn't say it's more dangerous than Man city or Birmingham or even London
It’s not a beautiful city. Step 2 minutes outside of the city centre and you’ll realise it’s rife with poverty, drug addiction and mental health problems
Great sharing excellent keep it up and keep sharing ❤️😊👍👏
Thank you, I will 😊👍

Hi, the end was a bit jumpy, would have like to have gone up to the Castle after the second visit to the square, but, all in all a delightful reminder of my old home town! Thanks!
Thanks for watching and your feedback!
The castle has been closed for a couple if years for some major renovation works. It finally reopened around when lockdown was lifted, can't comment on what it's like yet, every time I suggest going for a look, even just in the 'free' bit my other half comes up with some excuse.. will have to do it on my own one evening - I walk past every night on my way home from work.
Thank you. I miss home so much. 🥰
