The spirits in this show was so intense. Till this day, I still remember Wan-Shi Tong and Koh the Face Stealer.
Finally someone said it. Both spirits are horrifying, I'm not sure if they didn't haunt my dreams
Really puts the portrayal of spirits in Legend of Korra to shame. My biggest grievance with that show has always been how it’s portrayal of spirits takes away their nuance and strangeness 😕
@@unseenasymptote4976 I think the whole show really focused on detraction and deconstruction. Whereas avatar worked on building up the epic and mysterious, like fearsome and terrifying spirits, lightning bending, metal bending, etc. - Korra really focused on deconstruction, making lightning bending into literally a 9-5 blue collar job, metal bending is something that just cops do, and spirits were just a gray faceless blob monsters or just.. blue rabbits that flew around with no real purpose..
@@BelfryHex And y’know, I actually think the lightning and metal bending things are fun/cool. But the spirits I think needed to stay mysterious because they’re just boring otherwise

@@diverman467 I hate when people say this. What makes it his knowledge? He didn't write the library. His seekers go out and collect the knowledge from mortals. It's our knowledge. And his insistence that "well there's no way of figuring out who's the aggressor and the aggrieved in your war, you're mortals and probably deserve it" isn't wise or enlightened, it's a refusal to think.
He's not an intellectual, he's a clepto who would put a tomato in a fruit salad.
And how the owl delievers its lines is really good and menacing
@@FabbrizioPlays Wan Shi Tong is an extreme example of an enlightened centrist. He brings up some very good points, but he’s not automatically more ethical just because he refuses to take a side in human conflicts, and his actions are hypocritical. That’s why he’s so interesting.

Points for remembering braille is a thing! I'm typing this on my braille keyboard, and LOVE braille! Also, when it comes to the blind jokes, it's always cool to laugh when WE'RE the ones making the joke, or if we laugh along with someone else's joke. And of course, if WE'RE making fun of OTHERS do something related to our blindness, that's ALWAYS fun.
Toph is one of the biggest contributors to my sense of humor. show came out when I was ten, and she was my first real role-model. I LOVE Toph! She's some of the best disabled rep EVER. She's MAIN characters, and she's an ACTUAL character. She does fall a little into the Super Crio trope but I think her weaknesses both in her earthbending and her personal struggles outweigh that aspect of her character.
Great reaction, as always! I agree it’s Sokka’s fault too for opening his mouth, but remember he is only 15 or 16 years old. I know I didn’t have much of a filter when I was that age. Poor Appa, but poor Toph and Aang, I feel for them both so bad at the end. The ride from here on out is legit insane, have fun!

Appa is Aangs last connection to his people, culture, friends and family. Yes he now has Sokka, Katara and now Toph, but he is bonded to Appa. One half of him has been stolen from him.

And again another banger episode. An incredible win for the team as we know when the eclipse is happening. We finally have a day where we can stop the fire nation. And then to have Toph having to choose between saving Aang, Sokka and Katara or saving Appa. Its heartbreaking.
Y'all need to understand what Toph did here. She was literally holding up the building from being sucked into the spirit world. I'd like to imagine some sort of vortex sucking up the building, and there she is at the tip, just holding it.

They thought Toph would find the Library, they thought the knowledge seekers were returning a scroll and then snitching on Sokka, they thought Sokka’s knot wouldn’t be good enough, they thought the “darkest day” was Sozin’s Comet, and those are just the standouts to me so far in this episode. People get tons of stuff wrong, but they get some predictable stuff right and all of a sudden some viewers think they’re just faking a first reaction.

I mean they even predicted zuko going to find a storm off somewhere when there was no indication of a storm anywhere in the episode just so he could try the move iroh taught him. They've predicted a lot of shit that wasn't obvious literally in every episode
@@Gu3ssWhatsN3XT If there’s a huge long lost spirit library in a desert in the Earth Kingdom that can’t even be seen from the sky, being buried is *_literally the most likely explanation._* As for last episode, Zuko wants to try redirecting lightning but Iroh won’t shoot it at him, then he hears thunder and looks over to see a storm on the horizon, *_and then_* they guess what he’s going to do. These hints could not be much more obvious without being patronizing. As respectfully as possible, just because these things aren’t obvious to literally everyone, does not mean they aren’t obvious to almost everyone else. Remember that they’re watching a show made for kids as adults.

Was it a useful knot though? Or just an unusual knot? Besides, all the others contributed writings. Maybe if Sokka’s contribution was how to do the knot or what it was good for it would be different.

the gaang really robbed this spirit, knocked him out, and then dipped.
at the start of the episode, the library was between the spirit world and the mortal world: allowing wan shi tong and his knowledge-seeker fox to collecting information and knowledge while discouraging human visitor. but at the end of the series, the owl spirit pulled the building wholly back into the spirit realm via sinking it into the ground. this is why if someone dig the spot down, they won't find it.
Even after all we saw her do in The Blind Bandit episode, episodes like this show us once again how much of a beast Toph is!
