Shadow has temporary bouts of invincibility even in Base and is the undisputed master of Chaos Control. He's also close enough in speed for that to be a bear worthless advantage, has far superior martial skill, higher durability, is easily stronger and can remove his inhibitor rings to become far more powerful. Sonic really only has speed and adaptability on his side.

@Super saiyan well shadow can use chaos control with just one emerald and did overtake sonic (with light shoes on) before the final boss in hero and dark story in sa2. He also has a lot more chaos powers than sonic and has super spikes. And his shoes hover which means less friction, more action
Shadow > Sonic, with more strength power and stamina. Only thing sonic has an edge in is speed. Love the animation tho

Shadow would win though. He’s faster and has black arms in his DNA. Also notice how he has super spikes? The reason he died in sa2 is because he entered the chaos control beam and lost one of his inhibitor rings whereas sonic just did the job.
I know that, but sonic will still win easily, cause he has all the forms and all the best power ups and sonic is still also the best and he's the best character in smash of all time, but no disrespect on shadow, shadow is badass and I still love him, i wish he was in smash too.

Sonic and Shadow are very close, but Sonic has shown faster speeds, and higher power and durability.
Now this makes MORE sense. People can debate on who has higher speed, and power/durability, but they're debating pennies on the dollar.
Actually Sonic can only win through power ups. By default Shadow would win due to his superior strength and power. Also Shadow has the chaos force. Sonic needs an emerald to use chaos energy.
