Very good observation I’d like to add a wise fellow once recounted the notion that anyone is a genius but if you take a fish out of water I know that’s not 100 correct but you may have heard of the expression I’m just enjoying the music atm so don’t want to come off to search for the correct quote! 🤣😂 💃
Matt Johnson (the keyboardist) has his own channel where he gives tutorials, review synths, and and answers general fan questions. It’s a dope channel.
It's like the rain supercharged him. what a bloody fantastic performance - and that band is bloody amazing. I hope they tour again - I'd stand in the rain for a performance like this!
Es gibt diese Tage, wo alles zusammen passt und ein unwiederbringliches, einzigartiges Werk entsteht, glücklich diejenigen, die damals dabei sein konnten und das erleben durften.
This man is one of kind and one that I would stand in the rain for. Even decades later he sounds exactly the same. record or live you'd never know the difference.
Love the way they NEVER play a song the same way twice. Every performance is improvised and FRESH! Not to mention those killer moves! Jay, you the man! You and your groovy tones should be a LOT more widely celebrated! From Davey, bass fella in Ireland. ;)
@@nordimejia5790 why? That’s the beauty of live, real bands - the music is living, and morphing always. If you want the same thing all the time just buy a great stereo and play the studio cut all the time. Phish is one of the biggest grossing bands of all time and they do the same - no song is ever the same twice.
Hardly any footage of the guitarist or Nick Fyffe on bass, just their hands occasionally. What's wrong with the people behind the cameras ? There's no music without the musicians.
Everything is perfect about this performance, you don't get this attitude every day, I mean, Jay, the band, the back-up - it's a world class, period. BUT -what I would like to do is to praise the lead of the post-prod and all the guys involved in this, it's nothing short of a supreme video-edditing, just an outstanding work. Thank you, guys, it's a top-notch job, a pure professionalism and dedication
That BASS though!?! The entire band are excellent at their "parts" as it takes them ALL being at their best to co-create the whole of their sound BUT Jason is at the front leading at every step. SO GOOD!!!!
when they talk about people 'born for it' jay kay is one. that man is smooth. those slides and audience interactions. smooth af. the adlibs and stuff too omg.
I never knew who this guy was until April 17th 2018 when he performed at the BGC in San Francisco. I was working my first day with my event staffing employer at that show and after being fortunate enough to hear *and feel* every kick of the bass drum, every note and transition between notes coming from that bass guitar, i went home that night thinking "I know i was just a kid when this band broke up but how did I not know who he was until tonight?" This guy, this band, is just as good in 2018 as they were back whenever this Verona venue happened.
I swear, when I first heard this on Napoleon Dynamite, I sincerely thought it was a disco 🕺 classic that came out between 1976 and 1979 that somehow escaped my attention (I was born in the Summer of '67). I couldn't place who sang it! Was it Melba Moore? Rose Royce? Gloria Gaynor? Vicki Sue Robinson? I was embarrassed at how much more recent it was, but that's just a testament to what an excellent job Jamiroquai did at capturing the sound of my 'tween years! The guitar, the keyboards, the violins, the bass, the drums....everything is so in-the-pocket and spot-on that I still get Pop Rocks flashbacks whenever I hear it!!!😵😵💫🥴
He was always a genius, also lucky to have the luxury of becoming a musician no matter if he would make money out of it. A perfect stars alignment. Unfortunately, he spent many of his years losing and finding himself…
If i had a time machine i'd choose Verona to be in 2002 on this day ! "Sorry about the rain, it's not me, it's god" - Jay Kay. But i think rain makes this performance perfect !
But my dream came true when in 2019 at concert in yerevan HE passed by me in the concert hall and smiled and kind of winked his eye so that I could just exclaim "wow". The happiest moment ☺️🎉💫
At 5:34 of this video is when the 'harmony' really makes itself clear to me. "Canned Heat" is a good song but when that harmony kicks in...it just rises to another level.
Alguém ouvindo esta obra prima em 2022???Que banda fantástica este dvd live in Verona é perfeito do começo ao fim.Uma aula de comportamento e domínio de palco, público e adversidades nota 10.
Indeed. I miss Nick Fyfe in their lineup. And i miss Stu even more. Paul is a great bass player, but in my book he pales in comparison to Nick and Stu. I wasn't in Verona, but i was lucky enough to get a chance to see this lineup live as well. Unforgetable!

My favorite live ever. Love this genious artist and everyone around him. Like this incredible drummer who give me goosebomb and push me to drum too lol. Much love and peacefullness to all of u from France. At. 7.30 this track take an another dimension 🌞
i feel like all of jamiroquai bassists are pretty underrated. these guys are beasts.
only the real ones know ;)

why do people say underrated, whos underratred them?

Nick Fyffe the bassist, a Monster!
Todos son buenos musicos!!!❤
Jay is obviously a genius, but the band doesnt get enough credit, a highly skilled group of musicians!
linux maximus it’s not the hihat it’s the drum some dudes are born with that groove and he has it just makes you wanna dance
YES !!!

This sound si Sony....fine ...i Love it
The bass made up for the rain in Verona!
he got style, very groovy !
Derrick McKenzie (Drums) and Nick Fyffe (Bass) are just a nasty rhythm section! Monsters!!
Drummer killing it too
I was thinking how much I would love to see a Danny Carrey style focused performance of this from Derrick McKenzie. WOW!!!! He is a freight train!

Just discovered this music today. Absolutely amazing. I'm in tears of joy.
You have decades of amazing music to listen to my friend!
The backing singers are incredible

‘She’?
This was recorded 2/3 years after this aong was released lol...

I kinda hate that
Well said Davey, from a fellow Irishman! This performance was fire 🇮🇪💪
There are at least 3 original bass lines for this sing that I know of......and I am Jon Snow.

i‘m jealous
Everyone's talking about the bass, but the back-up singers are killing it from 5:04 to 6:33.
Yea the backing vocals in this performance are really nice
I've got them starting at 5:33 of the video.
I'm absolutely mesmerized by the music and their vocal harmony.
Jamiroquai would have been extremely popular in the 70's (maybe more).
Lovin’ the drum and BASS in this mix...the tone of that bass is phenomenal! What a band.
Listening tonight from Buenos Aires 🎉
That BASS though!?!
The entire band are excellent at their "parts" as it takes them ALL being at their best to co-create the whole of their sound BUT Jason is at the front leading at every step. SO GOOD!!!!

The entire concert was lit. It's online
Nick Fyffe on that bass! Beautiful.
No phones, no photos, no selfies, just an happy people dancing with a gorgeus bass line... Miss This Times...
