not gonna change your mind but!! while a.g. and caroline's cover of chandelier is largely just a joke, the choice to put chandelier on extreme vocals (and the way they did it) was suuuper intentional, because chandelier itself *is* extreme vocals personified even without post-production manipulation. lyrically and in its performance, sia is truly hanging on for dear life, pushing her vocals to their absolute limits, and then she could never perform it in the original key live either without absolutely wrecking her voice, which is what i think the various key changes were reference to. caroline cracks in her chorus so much because she's belting notes that she would ordinarily definitely do in mix or head voice, which again fits the themes of pushing the voice to its limits (she never belted a note that high again until the bridge of i believe!). while its not a very pleasant listen, as producers performers and pop music scholars it makes sooo much sense that a.g. and caroline would be totally fascinated with it. amazing video btw, love ur editing style.

I think you are kinda impatient. some of these tracks, where you said "oh no, they took too long to get started", i didn't even notice they were 4 or 5min long before you said it, and i listened to this album a lot. maybe you should try listening to it in other contexts. for example sometimes when i listen to it i'm cooking food. and the absolutely best time i ever had was when I had to take a bus because all the train tracks were messed up. it was a really hot day and that bus driver was quite passionate. he went around all the corners super fast, even not just considering that he drove a bus. and i listened to all of these tracks and gave them the time they needed to shine

soft landing is one of my favs specifically because it takes a long time to get going with a euphoric beginning section transitioning into a more abrasive ending, sorta like an inverted version of illuminated biker gang. i also liked the basic trap beats on oracle and alright because they represent the sort of amateurish DIY feel that is present in a lot of pc music. i feel like the entire ethos of 7g is based around a. g. cook simplifying his approach to songwriting and production, breaking it down to its bare essentials and rebuilding it from the ground up, which very much falls in line with the label's DIY internet aesthetics that i find to be very inspiring.
I love chandelier so much. I think it's very intentional---it's not AG attempting a cool cover and failing, it's him creating an awful song that ends up being one of the most memorable songs off the album. It's just so fun and unserious, I can't listen to it without laughing

ive sat thru it in full a few times - my fav album is 3 hours and hey! apple is great >:( edit: it technically did have a lead single, alright was released like a day prior to the album
not to be taken the wrong way but: chopped and screwed is not the term you want to use here (or in the gfoty video), as it belongs to Texas hip hop folklore and really not much else - i guess "pitched" would convey part of the meaning you intended!
Great video but who told you that THAT red looks good with these backgrounds it is barely readable with this choppy scanline filter on supersaw its so nasty and for what do better AND then you also have mismatched effects on the ranking itself???????????? the NUMBERS simply do not match the TITLE
@@paper_boyfriend you can still see the value (darkness) in comparsion to the background even if you are fully colorblind!!! Not sure what you mean by no filter, that text certainly has something on it, unless it's just a quirky font which you seem to have a knack for

the fact that some people hate a song on 7g but others love it, says a lot about the freshness of the album… it feels like a new musical direction
