Jimmy would have been right there flying with them and talking airplanes all day long. I was able to see him flying Cloud Dancer at Oshkosh many years ago, but never had the chance to meet him.
Glad you liked the video, but I'm not the one you think I am. Of all the times I've been to SNF and now live in the Tampa area, I've never actually been to the FL Air Museum. Someday... I did help kids build wing ribs in Miami several times with my EAA Chapter. I hope some of them continued their aviation adventures.
Well done, enjoyable video. Love the random, relaxing approach. Normally I hate music in aircraft vids but your approach added a light hearted upbeat feel and was perfect for still shots. When the planes were running, you let the engine sounds provide the music! What a beautiful, relaxing location and format for a gathering of aircraft. Loved the random mix of aircraft and views of them. Nice captions. Perfect!
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it! I'd say this is Mission Accomplished! I took so many glamour shots to share on social that I didn't get in videos, that I thought this would be a relaxing way to keep them all together. The relaxing music adds to the photos, but nothing can improve the sounds of the vintage engines. The Merlins and radials just need to be heard. Thanks for stopping by!
Thanks, Craig! I agree completely! It is great that so many people are fortunate enough to be able to own, restore and/or maintain these vintage aircraft to keep them flying for all to experience and enjoy. It is so much better being able to see a warbird take off and hear it's massive engine, than just seeing one in a museum. The P-40's are rare and that Avenger is even rarer.
I first heard about LAR back in the late '70's. My first time to visit was in 2021 when our close friends bought a hangar with house attached. There are new houses currently being built and lots still available. It is a beautiful community!
They did have a great performance. I'm glad to see that even after the marketing stopped, they still keep the plane in the Red Baron markings in honor of its recent past.
Fun times in my teen years. Oshkosh is an awesome fly-in to experience. We camped twice under the wing and many other times we drove up and camped in Camp Scholler, at the airport.
Awesome video! Nicely edited and the sight and sounds are fantastic! Mr Jeff I think you would enjoy the show Masters of the air on apple tv.. Thanks for sharing!
Outstanding! It sure looks smooth. I haven't flown in there, yet, but I haven't hear any complaints on the condition of the field, taxiway or display areas.
Awesome doesn’t begin to describe how well this video was done! Thanks for uploading! I was watching the P-51 turn and noticed its tail wheel moves with the rudder. This is probably a stupid question, but does a retractable tail wheel quit moving with the rudder when it is retracted? Or does it turn freely and is not connected to the rudder?
Correct. I should have said the Rolls Royce Designed Merlin engine has such an amazing sound. Packard Motor Co produced the Merlin engine in the States, under license from Rolls Royce. Ford also helped the war effort by also producing the Merlin engine in England.
Aerobatic pilots are well trained professionals who have years of flying experience, but accidents can happen. Flying does have it's risks, but it is riskier driving to the airport than actually flying.
I am a pilot and would disagree with your assessment. There is nothing safe about being on the outside of a flying plane. And vehicle accidents are significantly less fatal than aircraft. @@wingnutsworkshop
Every aerobatic pilot and wingwalker know the risks that they take. It is their free will to choose. I'd love to get some aerobatic training, but only strapped into the seat. I agree that vehicle accidents are much less fatal, but auto accidents are also much more frequent.
@@danielleclare2938 I didn't see anyone pointing a gun at her head. For crying out loud, OF COURSE there's nothing safe about being on the outside of a flying aircraft but I believe that's the exact point.
Amazing show, thanks for sharing
Great event and I wish my old friend Jimmy could have been there; he would have loved it👍

Great video-nice job!

We love the video! You really did a nice job! We can't wait to see your videos from Sun and Fun coming soon.
Thank you so much! I will do my best for SNF!
Congrats Dirk awesome! You were a huge inspiration to a young boy who volunteered at the museum @ Sun-N-Fun. You helped me build my first wing rib!

amazing airshow video
Thanks! It was a great day to watch those vintage warbirds. I can't wait for Sun-N-Fun to see even more planes of all types.

Great video of awesome aircraft. Thanks to all who keep history alive & flying. P.S. Love the P-40s & the Avenger.

Awesome vid. Man I remember when they were just starting to sell houses there on Baseline.....great memories.

Nice video of some interesting aircraft 👍
Great video, beautiful airplanes!
loved that red baron plane. i miss the old red baron pizza squadron. nice video.

Thanks, Mr. Vic. I appreciate the support!
That does sound like a great series with some actual vintage planes being used. Thanks for the suggestion!
I landed there 2 different times, without a doubt the smoothest grass runway anywhere

Once lined up on runway they lock the tailwheel
@@AreeyaKKC Thanks for the reply! I got to thinking about it and it only makes sense that the tail wheel has to be locked in position.
When you push the stick all the way forward, tw unlocks, for those groovy turns. Rest of the time locked
@@Bakes-z4c Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!. Thanks also to all who answered the question to teach us how the tailwheel locking works.

As a FYI ALL Merlin engines Mustangs used the PACKARD Merlin modified and built in America, NO RR built merlin was used in any production Mustang.

The Biplane stunt team reminds me of the fatal that happened years ago. Airplane stunting is not worth the risk.
