Yes please! A video on storage workflow, especially on how you manage / catalogue / store long term for both photo and video content would be amazing! Thanks Pat, love the content and congrats on the move to Japan (finally!)
Your overall aesthetic is goals man. Whether it's your brand, your workspace, your content, your art; all so cohesive and sophisticated. Thanks for sharing!
honestly i think that these videos are seen as the gold standard that everyone should have if they can do anything successful on the internet. but in reality you could something that works just as well for you for like 1500 or less just cause it works for what your needs are. i say the things you should have as a "gold standard" is the overall organization and cleanliness since thats what gets you to work quick, sometimes you need things on top of your super clean desk cause drawers dont cut it. So organizing it while looking good is the real skill to take away.
I mean don't get me wrong, not everyone can afford this stuff, but that statement is just about as true for any bit of kit for any hobby or job. What you didn't see in this video are the two other desks that I have in the studio that are cobbled together with Ikea bits and random legs off Amazon. You can make most any setup look decent at a minimum, but some people like to see things they can aspire towards, or are just geniunely curious about how other people decide to spend their money.
@@patkay Fair point, i mean it is why i watched the video in the first place. This video was probably not the best place to mention a point like this since your just trying to show your gear after moving and stuff which i think is dope. I loved the setup, especially the desk itself i love the wood top and color. But gotta ask about the keyboard not having a numpad, i mean it know its out of style and everyone likes 60-75% but i cant use the calculator without it so i wonder how thats been for you lol.
Great design and equipment selection make the video a work of art as well as a medium for delivering information. Thanks for sharing. May your studio provide support for your inspiration.
Amazing videos and very educational. I'd really like to see how you manage those 32TB of SSD storage! Being portable and fast at all times is also one of my concerns.
Nice tour and super clean setup! Congratulations on making the move to Japan happen. That has been a process. I noticed that you didn't point out any editing accessories. Do you do all of your editing with your mouse now or do you use a tablet or deck?
Awesome setup! Love the style and the aesthetics. Can you tell me what phone charger this is? I have been searching for one that I can use with the new nightstand feature of iOS 17 while also charging AirPods and the Apple Watch. Thanks! Keep up the good work !
Great video! I am curious about using your Sony as a webcam. Besides it giving crispy video, is it easy to set up? And does it overheat? Also would love to learn more about your workflow on storing video and photos.
Absolutely, but most of the time it's either not fast to edit video directly off of, or definitely not portable enough to take with me. I used to have a Thunderbolt DAS too, but that was also in the same vein.
Interested you mentioned that, I’m in the struggle of trying to buy a monitor for Mac that scales well. The options are really limited, depends on the PPI as well. So my current dell aw3420dw is actually ok due to the PPI being low enough. There was an article that explained the PPI you need, it basically needs to be below or above a certain range. The LG Ultrafine 5k/apple studio display are just too overpriced for me in the world of sub £1k stunning OLEDs
@@zenful7487 Yes, I've seen the articles and videos that discuss this topic as well. Those suggest either buying a 1440p or a 5k monitor on 27/32 inch. But in my opinion 1440p is not enough resolution and the 5k ones are way too expensive. So there isn't really a great option. But I've seen many TH-camrs using the Dell or LG 4k monitors, so I'm wondering if it's actually that significant..
Its probably less of an issue that I'm thinking, I doubt a good 4k monitor would look bad to most people. Colour accuracy is probably more important to creators@@moritzrodl3881
Thanks! To be honest, not really, because I always like the look of 1440p on a 27" screen, so im always down resing to that resolution from 4k and everything remains super sharp and looks great.
Unfortunately not! It's fully digital so that you can take it with you wherever you go. Perhaps one day I'll make a physical book, but it's not likely to be a guide.
Can you please make tutorials about transition like the masking transition and other transition that content creators and videographer use . Love ur videos 💯👌💪🔥
Its definitely a nice table and the perfect size too. My workstation at home is my most important part of the home. But hey, why not just say it ( or did i miss it? 🤔) you said its expensive, so what exactly is expensive ?
Yeah, but I also kind of didn't want to spare any expense, so it was an automatic buy. Also, so many things are just marked up in Japan for no reason 🫠

100% would love to see your storage workflow. Not a want, but a need. As always, great video Pat.

I appreciate you thinking that! Cheers!

congras Pat. Your life, my dream. Thanks for sharing~
A standing desk with 4 legs sounds so great. No matter how much others keep saying they can be stable I'm super allergic to slight monitor wobbles.
Congratulations with your great studio! Love to see your storage process!
Thank you! I'll put that on the list of videos to make!
Woo! Excited for this new stage for you! Thanks Pat!
I love you aesthetic and taste! I also have a Herman Miller Embody and hope to never need another chair again 😄
100% would love to see your storage workflow and file organization. Certainly not sexy but it’s a super important part of managing your craft!
Absolutely! It's on the list.
Nice to finally see another G Pro X Super-light user on their work setup 💪🏼
More power to us!
Great design and equipment selection make the video a work of art as well as a medium for delivering information. Thanks for sharing. May your studio provide support for your inspiration.
Thank you so much for the kind words!
Loving the keeb collection brother!
Cheers man!
Nice setup! Congrats on realizing your dream and moving to Tokyo.
Yes to the storage video :)
Yoooo studio looking sick!
Thanks man!
Great (dream) setup! Yes please could we see how you do your storage workflow? Would be great to see
Absolutely! It's on the list.
Very clean looking.
Glad you like it!
6:20 Yes please, do a storage break down video. This is such an under reported topic inside photography/videography.
that desk is sick, fr
Really nice, clean setup. Would definitely like a vid on your storage setup and workflow. In the process of looking for a better solution myself.
Awesome! Will add that video to the list.
Damn that M1 Mac Studio is a beast!!
For sure! Still goes hard.
would love a full studio tour!
jaw dropped at the prices of these, especially that storage. would love a video about them!
Yeah honestly most of the time my storage costs more than the cameras that use them up 😂

Loving the setup! What's the arm/mount holding up the Sony ZV-E1 on the desk?

So nice! What did you use on your black wall? What is that? Cheers
It's a soundproofing thing that I put up myself for the entire wall.
Love the vid. Have you thought about using NAS storage?
Absolutely, but most of the time it's either not fast to edit video directly off of, or definitely not portable enough to take with me. I used to have a Thunderbolt DAS too, but that was also in the same vein.
@@patkay How you keep back-up of your videos and photos? are you using cloud or external HDD?
you should do an house tour!
Great Video! Do you have issues with the scaling of MacOS on 4k Monitors?

Hey Pat, how much RAM memory, and SSD memory does your Macbook Air have?
I actually changed the Macbook to a Macbook Pro 14" M2 Max. On that I'm running 64GB/2TB, however 64GB is definitely overkill.
Hi Pat, I'm just wondering if you sell the physical version of your eBook "Photography Guide to Japan"

I don't ever do those transitions so I don't think I'm the right guy to teach that.
Much appreciated any way 💯🔥💪
Bro plz make one video on house tour tokyo

I showed how expensive the Desk was via visuals at some point!
i read productivity and get flashbacks of ali abdaal :p neat video otherwise.
Haha. Unfortunately that titleing didn't really work for me. But all good
and the question is...... what games do you play :D
i only can afford the bonsai c:
Haiyai! Second....
hiyaaa!
first hehe 😋
heh heh you got it!
Really surprised you got that Herman Miller here, it's so much more marked up in Japan 🫠
Yeah, but I also kind of didn't want to spare any expense, so it was an automatic buy. Also, so many things are just marked up in Japan for no reason 🫠
