What happens when you make consclusions from incorrect assumptions is those conclusions are nonsensical. Trump's assumptions are: the effect of deadly shot is worth 3 mana in this meta; adding effects to a card is worth the same as drawing card; and drawing a card is worth 2 mana. One, two or all of these assumptions are incorrect according to Blizzard, otherwise the card would cost more than 5. I would say the first two: deadly shot is not worth 3 mana, else it would be played; and adding an effect is not the same as drawing a card, else you run into nonsensical conclusions like "Dark iron skulker is -9 mana 4/3" (it's a card that "draws" up to 7 backstabs, each "draw" is worth 2 and the minion costs 5, 7*2-5=-9)
@@exantiuse497 I get your point, but is not like Blizzard is particularly amazing at balance. And the fact that Deadly Shot is not used it's not because of the mana cost, but the card cost. @@HackionSTx well it depends on the meta. This year with all these small lackeys didnt make it easier for deadly shot. I think it's still really good against embiggen druid I guess.

@@SuperDiscoPanada admittedly stupid on my part but I assumed you could craft the cards so I didnt save gold, 700g a chapter for 8 chapters is easily a few months of gold haha
Trump's stance that adding an effect is always worth a draw leads to nonsensical conclusions like that. If we calculated the value of cards like that, then Dark Iron Skulker (the Rogue minion that deals 2 to all undamaged enemy minions) would be a -9 mana 4/3: 4/3 that "draws and plays" up to 7 Backstabs, each "draw" is 2 mana so the battlecry is worth 14, the minion costs 5 so 5-14=-9. An mediocre class minion becomes one of the most overpowered with these calculations
"0 mana 6/5 but really you pay 5 mana for it and trump's comparisons are stretching it even for him and his clickbait title is excessive?!" Fixed the title for you trump!
10 mana for 8/8 is typically too slow. You play it and then die the next turn, and if you didnt die then you were already far ahead that you didnt need it
You will probably be able to craft them once they rotate out of standard, just like all other adventure-only cards. You definitely won't be able to craft them before that, I'm 99.9% sure
Trump: "It's a 0 mana 6/5!" Me: "Oh cool Trump is playing Rotnest with Scarlet Webweaver." Trump: "No I made a dumb conclusion by dissecting and stretching the value of a card."
Rotnest is exceptionally underwhelming. On paper, it's a good card. In another class, probably would be a good card. In hunter, you don't have a lot of value outside spell oriented decks, and you don't have card draw to keep up what little control you can pull out. Hunter's control cards are pretty high costed compared to other control options. Hunters are not even really good at being midrange. Both paladin, and Shaman are better at it. If you aren't playing an oppressive hunter, then you should be playing something else. You can run dragon package still too. I run dragons, with cheap spells to close out the game without the secret nonsense. The only secret worth putting in is explosive, because it deals face damage and weakens their board. Usually secrets are really only good at either prolonging a game, or luring the opponent into a guaranteed event. Snake trap is another I would say is fine too. They're playable proactively, so you don't lose tempo. I use Vareesa with Arcane shot, Rapid Fire, NO KILL COMMAND, and Corrosive Breath. That way it's about 12 damage with just 2 full Rapid fires + 2 weapon hit + 2 hero power on turn 8 if you curve into it. I also like using Cobalt Spellkin since it can give you more rapid fire/arcane shots/Toxic Reinforcements. You might get bad 1 cost spells like Bestial Wrath, Beast Within, or Clear the Way, so it might be wise to make it a one of with a one of Rotnest. No Kill Command, because you shouldn't have beasts in Dragon hunter. Unleash the hounds, and Animal Companion, and that's about it. Not worth having it collect dust in your hand waiting for a high roll. I have a pretty decent winrate with my dragon hunter deck, so when I heard people saying Rotnest is good, I knew they meant in some other class. It doesn't really fit too well with a tempo deck due to the variance, and it's not low cost enough to make it worth it for the tempo. Honestly, I question if this would be good in any other deck. Even without the dragon prerequisite. We're talking the levels of a 4 mana 8/8 with rush if you have another minion on the field. 5 mana 6/5 with deadly shot doesn't compare well.
Yeah, welcome to Adventures! Which means spend all your gold or pay up, because they're gonna exclude you as a free player until you give up loads of packs for a few new cards. Oh and you get more run-of-the-mill solo shit that can be interchanged with the rest of the shit.
@@paulgrimes818 The quests are also there for you to waste that gold on the adventure and not to spend it on packs, which are far more valuable. But packs aren't gated, so you *need* the huge gold wave for a few cards. It's so you're barren when the next expansion rolls around, so you can use real money to catch up. No matter what you do, you're behind.
@@SomersBugtopia yeah... i agreed. if i managed to open all the adventure, it costs 6300 gold.. or same as 63 pack for the new expansion.
