Bayonetta - Lost Chapter: Angel Slayer (PURE PLATINUM)

  • PC version. I've edited out pauses where I'm chatting with people in my stream (cuz I'm shy and don't like my voice). I've since done this PP with Jeanne (whose increased damage rips apart several of the nastier fights with ease) and with Little King Zero (hardest character to PP this with due to his poor use of Pulley's Butterfly):
Pure Plat Angel Slayer with Jeanne: • Bayonetta - Lost Chapt...
Pure Plat Angel Slayer with Little King Zero: • Bayonetta (PC) - Lost ...
Kilgore on hands + Scarborough Fair on feet along with Shuraba + Scarborough Fair were my weapons (aside from one fight in Verse 5 where I switched to Durga Fire on both as I was afraid of accidentally touching a flaming enemy). Kilgore is an amazing weapon on hands that synergizes well with Scarborough Fair, Bazillions, and Onyx Roses as charging PKP gets you lots of rockets, as does PPPKKK. You get lots of points for rockets too, as well as lots of stagger when you hit enemys with the tonfas (though it's more important to hit with rockets, the tonfa hits are just bonus).
Pulley's Butterfly, Moon of Mahaa-Kalaa, and Gaze of Despair all see extensive use here. Pulley's Butterfly is key to getting a Pure Platinum as the sometimes uncooperative camera and the generally frantic pace of some Verses means it's nice to have a shield. The magic drain is proportional to how many butterflies are left, so I often purposefully take a hit to go from 5 butterflies down to 1 or 2 left. I can also equip Infernal Communicator with PB, activate, then remove the IC and be left with 2 butterflies, thus draining magic at a much lower rate. Magic drain on accessories also gets paused when you taunt or when you use Shuraba or Pillow Talk's charge attacks. Holding the charge attack can also be a good way of parrying to regain magic as you can halt the magic drain from PB while waiting to parry stuff.
In Lost Chapter, Verse 1 is set to Normal difficulty, Verse 2 and 3 are set to Hard, and Verse 4 and 5 are NSIC. Bracelet of Time is used here not for offense (on NSIC it drains too fast to use it for anything other than Pillow Talk/Rodin, or in short bursts to hit with Weaves). Instead, I use Bracelet of Time to reactivate Pulley's safely if I lose my butterflies. On NSIC, it costs about 4 orbs of magic using Bracelet of Time to safely reactivate PB.
There is a camera exploit on several enemies, namely Joy/Jeanne/Bayoclone, where if you face away from them they will not attack you. This means it is easy to cheese them by charging Pillow Talk and slashing them as they approach, but since this is silly, I do not resort to this. The camera in this arena sucks however and still tends to refuse to face the enemies in some corners, instantly swinging to hide the arena when you are in the corner, which gets annoying at times. If I run away to use Pulley's I try to hold the lock-on button to minimize how long enemies are kept off-camera.
Punish attacks are amusing, but usually unsafe in a group, aside from Kilgore on feet which is easy to do, and fires explosive shots that stagger nearby enemies. Punishes also only work on the most basic angel types, Applauds, and Ardors. To do a Launcher Punish, immediately punch after any successful launcher (Back + P on a small enemy, PPKP). Some weapons can't grab enemies out of midair for this punish, but the smaller guns definitely can. For a Kick Punish, on any grounded enemy, stand still near them and press kick when they are grounded and not moving. Kick Punishes are easy to trigger. Punch Punishes appear to be very difficult, and only trigger using PPPKKP (note: not PPPKK•P which is a launcher finisher). You can't use Punishes in Witch Time it seems, and to get the Punch Punish to connect the punch has to hit on a grounded enemy, and you can't dodge offset from the last kick to the punish P or you'll just do a normal punch.
Double Kilgore on hands and feet is not useful. It is prone to combo drops, actually fires fewer rockets on PKP and PPKKK (the kick only fires one rocket from the feet in PKP as well as on the kicks in PPKKK, though the feet rockets hit more reliably in PPKKK). It also isn't as effective against enemies like Jeanne as having Scarborough Fair on feet is, as Scarborough Fair makes enemies attempt to block the shots, causing them to eat rockets reliably. Kilgore on feet works best with a fast weapon setup like Bazillions or Onyx Roses, so you can get PPKKK stomp rockets, PPPPK kick flurry, as well as jump off enemies and get two rockets for that.
Kilgore on hands has an amusing PP•P combo that can be held down to fire two blasts of double fists, but it will drop the combo always unless you hit with the melee attacks on the last P. Mostly for style. Stick to PPPKKK or PKP when using Kilgore on hands for best results, and charge those attacks.
The second Golem fight was a panicked mess; it's a frequent source of failed runs, as the centipede attack hits a ridiculously wide area.

It was designed to be the single most fun chapter in the entire game. It's a shame a lot of players miss it, as well as neglect to put time in learning Dodge Offset which completely opens the game up and changes Bayonetta's combat system radically when you incorporate Dodge Offsets.
For the casual player, Bayonetta appears one the surface to be an amusing button masher, but for the dedicated player it's a solid 3D beat em up with a relatively simple but super effective combo system. It has very few genuine flaws at high level play.

It took a lot of attempts to get there, including one where I got hit exactly once, one the final enemy, with about 1/4 of its last healthbar remaining. But I wasn't disappointed at that point since I knew if I could get that far the Pure Platinum was in range. I just had to improve my techniques (and being more aggressive about using Shuraba's charge modifier to disable Pulley's Drain and get parries to refill magic was very helpful).

You also get small health items whenever you kill enemies with a Torture attacks, but it'd take a TON of attacks to heal back to full to the point where if you're taking damage you'd probably be far better off taunting to heal as needed.
Moon of Mahaa-Kalaa also heals very slightly whenever you perfect parry but since you lose like 20x the health if you take damage by mistiming a parry, it's not meant to be a source of health.

Years ago if you had asked me, that's what I would have said. However, practice makes perfect and you'd be surprised what you can achieve when you put your mind to it.
Getting good with parries really helps. I turn off Stiletto and Heel Slide and get in the habit of mashing forward on the stick whenever I'm in a 1 on 1 fight. Kilgore on hands also makes things a lot easier as it's an insanely powerful weapon even at long range. It also helps to get good at Tetsuzanko with Shuraba, which has infinite range if holding lock on. Shuraba's Tetsuzanko and PKP rips up Fairness and Fearless (the dog things), easily staggering them when it hits (being like, the only weapon to reliably stagger them).

I've probably put in over 100 hours, and Bayonetta only get more fun the better I get at it. I play pretty casually without trying to learn techniques, but it's amazing how many secrets this game can still hide.
For reference, here are 10 minutes of random gameplay that I decided last week. Obviously there's no need to watch all of it, but I love to spam ppppk with Kilgore. photos.app.goo.gl/ZbK2nbyPgkH5HgudA

@@bobbyc1120 Kilgore is a weird weapon - on the feet it actually disables guns in hand slot that would normally fire shots in combos except for PPPKKK - it's usually not useful to go double Kilgore since the damage isn't much higher and you get more rockets in most combos from Kilgore hands + SF/Baz on feet. Kilgore on feet is useful for PPPPK, close range PPKKK stomp charges, heel stomp charge, and jumping off enemies for rockets though! It's also the coolest looking foot weapon. :V
Some nice moves you've got, like the stomp punishes in your vid, nice work. Sai-Fung + Kilgore's a great combo! Try to find those missing heart pieces! The easy ones to miss are the ones in Isla Del Sol where you have to torture attack the big blue angels in the rocket riding segment for them to drop the heart segments.
Nice job with the aerial heel stomp to rocket charges on the gracious and glorious wave, it's so good with Kilgore feet.
Don't be afraid to use tortures! Each torture kill gives a small health item and you can throw the Star of Dineta on during any easy wave when you're down to 1 enemy to heal up by taunting. :) Don't give up!

It's the best chapter in the entire game, I think. Non-stop, pure combat. Keep at it, Verse 3's boss fight is really good, you can do it! If you're going for a first time clear, make sure to abuse the everloving heck outta stuff like Star of Dineta to heal between fights and learn what stuff works reliably and what doesn't so maximize your chances. It just sucks that the best accessory in the game is always way weaker as Zero because of his passive Infernal Communicator. Thanks! The Onyx Roses actually work pretty decently on Jeanne/Bayonetta Clone too, they're unblockable at close range (but they can block the shots if you're at a distance). Scarborough Fair will definitely get the job done too, it's just tougher as they block a lot of shots. Keeping Scarborough Fair on the feet is actually a key part of my strategy as it causes her to try and block bullets, thus stopping her as she eats rockets to the face.

Thanks! Across the Xbox 360 and PC versions I've got about 1000 hours I think.
The trick to Kilgore is to ignore the melee hits. They're a bonus, but it's really all about the rockets. Those are the main attack.
Learning to use Pulley's Butterfly is a big help if you're wanting to clear this with PP. This chapter is... technically Pure Plattable without Pulley's Butterfly if you're okay with resorting to ULTRA CHEESE tactics (I've got a clear on TH-cam showing that), but it's way less fun as you have to play it super safe. Pulley's Butterfly lets you have fun with the combat, giving you a nice margin for error to style on enemies. :)

If you're getting burned when you accidentally hit one of the angels with a fire aura/shield (the standard humanoid types up to Ardor), there's a few options you can use. I found going for combo points with rockets at a distance wasn't too bad, but it's very annoying if your attack hits one by accident. You can use double Fire Durga and all your attacks will be totally safe against them. Kulshedra's whip strikes are safe too even at close range, but don't accidentally do a pull grab as the hand slap combo will cause you to take damage from the fire aura.
You could just resort to using angel weapons. They're all considered "long range" for the purposes of the fire auras and are safe to use. Good luck!

    • @BareKnuckleRoo
      @BareKnuckleRoo  4 ปีที่แล้ว +16

If you can get to the Bayonetta clone fight Pure Platinum, you're pretty nearly there. Don't give up! The hardest fight of the chapter is the Triple Jeanne fight right before; it's shorter and they die quickly, but it's far easier to manage a single target than it is three different aggressive enemies at once.
Bayonetta clone is functionally identical to Jeanne version 3, with two tweaks: she can finger swap up to 3 wicked weaves in a row, and she has a midair gun attack that Jeanne only uses on the ground.
The easiest weapon to beat a Jeanne or Bayonetta clone 1 on 1 with is Kilgore on hands, with Scarborough Fair on feet (not Bazillions!). Use charged PKP or PPPKKK and fire off rockets repeatedly at her. During kicks she'll attempt to block the bullets which also leaves her open to the rockets (she will randomly block them, nothing you can do about that). Try to stay somewhat close to her; if you're in her face the tonfa hits stagger her well, but if you get too far you're at higher risk of instant snap weaves. You're still susceptible to them at any time, but being in her face reduces the chances she'll use them.
If she does start snapping her fingers, dodge like crazy. If all else fails, mash dodge to get Panther Within, whose startup appears to have some invulnerability.
Use Pulley's Butterfly to keep yourself protected at all times as usual while managing your magic meter. Taunting her is risking; best to go for parries while using Shuraba's charge to stop the magic drain from Pulley's.

Accessories are Pulley's Butterfly at all times, with Gaze of Despair used for most waves to get combo points, fuel Pulley's Butterfly, as well as fuel magic for Tetsuzanko, Heel Stomp, Crow Within feathers, Tortures, etc. Gaze of Despair gets removed for particularly dangerous waves in favour of Evil Harvest Rosary (for fights involving groups, such as 2 x Jeanne, Jeanne + G&G, 3 x Jeanne), or when in a solo fight, Moon of Mahaa-Kalaa. Moon of Mahaa-Kalaa always gets put on in a Jeanne fight when there's one of them left, since it's much easier to focus on parrying when there's one of them.
Kilgore on hands + Scarborough Fair on feet are personal faves for most of the chapter, as well as for any 1 vs 1 Jeanne fight (including the Bayonetta fight) for several reasons:
      • The rockets reliably stagger enemies, even when they're enraged.
      • The rockets give tons of combo points, easily getting you Platinum combos.
      • The rockets are very strong for a projectile attack.
      • The melee hits reliably stagger Jeanne and open her up for rocket hits, as long as she's not taunted/enraged.
Bazillions on feet are stronger, and can break through Jeanne/Joy's guarding, but I find it more useful to have Scarborough Fair equipped on feet for the Jeanne fights. Instead of damaging her and causing her to charge at you, she'll often stand there and try to block the bullets, making it easy for a rocket to connect with her while she's blocking the bullets.
Shuraba + Scarborough Fair/Bazillions is ideal for any Fairness/Fearless fights because the PKP/Tetsuzanko Wicked Weave is very, very powerful and is one of the few things that reliably staggers them.
Any fight against only Grace/Glory/Gracious/Glorious can be cheesed by using 2 Afterburner Kicks into the air, then using Crow Within and holding lock-on while mashing punch to spam feathers at them. Use Eternal Testimony to keep your magic meter up when doing this.
Durga Fire + Durga Fire or Kulshedra + Durga Fire can be used to safely melee the flaming enemies that damage you when you normally hit them. Be warned that only Kulshedra's long range hits are safe, and that the special slap combo you get after a grab is unsafe and you take damage from flaming enemies if you try to use it on them.
Scarborough Fair + Scarborough Fair, Onyx Roses + Scarborough Fair, or Bazillions + Bazillions are all good general purpose setups for groups of smaller enemies that rely on numbers, but can be staggered easily by gunfire such as Dear + Decorations, Enchants, or Harmonies.
Afterburner Kick is arguably the best move in the game for gaining magic. The only faster way to gain magic is from the use of Angel Weapons, such as the polearm kick (poledance) or the flail punch (the multihit overhead spin attack).
Don't be afraid to experiment; there are plenty of other viable weapon setups you can use to Pure Platinum this, though the one weapon I'd avoid is Odette. It's basically one of the worst weapons in the game since its charge modifier is effectively useless and just present for amusement. There's no real practical, useful reason to use Odette, since the freezing is too much effort to activate and doesn't do nearly enough damage to be worth it (you can quickly trigger it with spin attacks/bullet climax, but even then, freezing an enemy just isn't worthwhile compared to keeping them staggered with Wicked Weaves).

It's not just viable, it's one of the best hand slot weapons in the game. It's the top tier weapon for any 1v1 Jeanne fight as the tonfa hits and the rockets stagger her super well, as well as staggering many other enemies reliably, all while giving massive combo points and damage.
The initial punch in PPPKKK or PKP is a bit slow but you can dodge cancel it or use it far enough to get the rockets firing safely.
I tend to use Shuraba for the 1v3 Jeanne fight though because the sweep attack the sword has on PKP works well to hit multiple enemies quickly. But rockets do work well there too.

Getting good is just a matter of learning to use your abilities better. You have plenty of powerful tools in Bayonetta at your disposal; I've seen a lot of people try Angel Slayer and say how hard it is, without ever having used Pulley's Butterfly as an accessory. Pulley's Butterfly is absolutely the best accessory in the entire game for both offense and defense, and learning to use it will really make things a lot easier for you! Don't give up!

@@pepobonitto283 Pulley's Butterfly is 100% the best accessory in the game for survival, as well as for safely trading hits in offense. If you're not using it, you're making the game harder on yourself.
Evil Harvest Rosary is very, very strong. If you're having trouble finding openings to attack enemies, using this is way stronger than getting Witch Time is, not to mention the NSIC Verses won't give Witch Time anyways.
Moon of Mahaa-Kalaa is very useful for interrupting Jeanne, and you can safely make parrying attempts with Pulley's Butterfly active. If you fail the parry, the butterflies will protect you, making it a great combination.
Star of Dineta is crucial for healing if you take damage, don't be afraid to kill all but one enemy, put up a Pulley's Butterfly shield, then run around taunting with Star of Dineta.
The worst weapons in the game are Odette (the iceskates) and Durga Lightning (the lightning claws). They're both strictly close range weapons. Onyx Roses are useful up close and at medium range and more versatile than Durga Lightning is, and Odette just plain sucks (kick flurries are not useful on higher ranking enemies at close range).
Kilgore is great for staggering enemies, but Shuraba's Punch Kick Punch and Tetsuzanko are also super powerful. Onyx Roses are also very effective, and Durga Fire on the foot slot is extremely powerful for blasting through groups. I'm using Gaze of Despair and Kilgore most of the time to guarantee I get a Platinum Combo score, but if you just want the clear, use Pulley's Butterfly + Evil Harvest Rosary at all times, and blast your way through enemies with something like Onyx Roses or Shuraba + Durga Fire on feet. Run around comboing and laying down fire bombs, luring enemies into running into them.
Bazillions are also useful for the high damage laser shots, and Rodin is great for quickly tearing apart enemies if you don't care about combo points. It's a bit slow for Jeanne though, but Rodin is useful against most angel enemies. I don't like Pillow Talk at all; it's Shuraba but without Wicked Weaves, and all it can do is use full charge slash -> quick charge slash constantly. Pillow Talk is great with Climax Brace, but Lost Chapter doesn't let you use Climax Brace if I recall correctly, so ditch Pillow Talk in favor of the far better Shuraba.
Don't be afraid to abuse the heck out of the Kilgore Glitch, especially if it's your first time clearing Lost Chapter. It's a very, very powerful tool you have available (do PPPPK with durga on feet, switch to kilgore on feet as soon as kick flurry starts and keep mashing kick, watch 13 or so rockets melt enemies).
The Fairness and Fearless dog type angels can be reliably staggered with Shuraba's PKP combo as you can see in this video.
Kilgore on the hand slot and firing rockets constantly is the safest way ever I've found to deal with Jeanne aside from Pillow Talk charge slash abuse while she's offscreen. Onyx Roses are also effective at blasting Jeanne. Jeanne tends to dodge Durga Fire blasts a lot but they do hit for good damage eventually. Experiment and see what you feel comfortable with.

Wicked Weave combos also let you attack at long range, so learning a few combos can really help (hit the inventory button in a loading screen to enter combo practice mode).

I'm afraid you're probably watching the wrong video then! This was the first time I Pure Platinumed Angel Slayer, and I was mostly having fun with it so I didn't resort to anything super cheesy in terms of tactics. Pulley's Butterfly and Star of Dineta to heal is really helpful; one of the last fights in Verse 5 is against 3x Gracious and Glorious. Kill off two of them, and you can safely taunt to heal on them before the Jeanne and Bayonetta fights. If you want to fight them "normally" without using anything too silly, Kilgore hands and Scarborough Fair feet are the best setup for any 1v1 Jeanne fight (including the Bayonetta clone fight) as both the rockets and the tonfa hits stagger her reliably.
If you're struggling with the really difficult fights and want to see ULTRA NON-STOP MAXIMUM CHEESY TACTICS GALORE, you'll want to check out the video I have highlighted at the top of my channel, where I do this using Zero without ever using Pulley's Butterfly. It was kinda boring, as I had to plan and resort to INSANELY cheesy, safe strats for all the fights that would otherwise be fun and exciting with Pulley's Butterfly. This includes off-camera AI exploits on all the Jeanne and Bayonetta fights. Zero is the weakest character at using these strats (as he sucks with Sergey's Lover compared to Bayo & Jeanne), so you should have an even easier time! Take a look here:

    • @BareKnuckleRoo
      @BareKnuckleRoo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I've probably got well over 300 hours in Bayonetta's Xbox 360 and PC versions, and 50-100 hours alone in Lost Chapter because it's simply that much fun to replay. It was a long time working up to a Pure Platinum, and Lost Chapter wasn't something I ever approached with the goal of getting a Pure Platinum. I just had fun with it, and it ended up being that I realized I was only getting hit a few times on specific difficult fights, which meant if I learned to beat those, a Pure Platinum was potentially doable.
      The hardest fights are:
      • Triple Jeanne: Hardest fight in the entire game to avoid damage without using off-screen exploits while all three are alive, they can attack suddenly and unpredictably.
      • Jeanne + Gracious & Glorious: Much trickier than the later Jeanne + 2 Joy fight, Gracious & Glorious dodge weaves frequently and there's only a few things that reliably hit them (fire bombs, shotgun blasts). Dealing with them before you run out of magic for Pulley's Butterfly is very important. Jeanne also snipes at you if you jump into the air, which denies you a useful and safe way of dealing with Gracious & Glorious.
      • The two Golem fights: These actually aren't that bad for me any more, but the centipede attack is incredibly dangerous and was a frequent source of failed attempts.
      • Harmony fights: They can use their rapid fire ranged attack that fires blue balls from offscreen with very little audio telegraphing. It's extremely dangerous to have one suddenly blast at you, especially on the Hard/NSIC verses.
      • The Enchant fight in Verse 4: Unlike the first Enchant fight in Verse 2, Verse 4 doesn't let you bring a sousaphone in for spin to win tactics (you could bust out Rodin here though). It's easy to get overwhelmed by them as their combination of ranged attacks and melee rushes don't really allow you to re-apply a Pulley's Butterfly. Putting Durga Fire on the feet and doing midair PPK(charge) combos to blast them is a current fave tactic.
Fights which look scary but are actually pretty manageable:
      • Fairness & Fearless fights: Shuraba PKP/Tetsuzanko staggers them reliably. Just keep your magic meter up for shielding.
      • Grace & Glory / Gracious & Glorious: Jumping high into the air and raining crow feathers is 100% safe when you know what you're doing. Put Durga Lightning on the feet to block their electrical attacks. Shotgun blast combos and Durga Fire bomb setups also work effectively, as does Pillow Talk charging.
      • Inspired fight in Verse 2: They're kinda nasty, but you've got a lot of moves that can quickly wipe them like Shuraba PKP/Tetsuzanko, so lean hard on those and you're good. It's a LOT easier to keep your distance and dodge the fireballs rather than try to dodge the bites at close range.
      • Bayonetta clone: Her enormous health meter and overaggressiveness on your own part are the biggest danger of this fight. The key here is focusing on managing your own magic meter. Don't let it drop too low and you can maintain Pulley's Butterfly effectively. She can use three wicked weaves in a row, so any time you see her stomp or do finger snap weaves you should dodge as though three are going to come out, don't just assume it'll be one or two. The parrying technique I use is my preferred way of regaining magic (charge P on Shuraba/Pillow Talk to pause the drain from Pulley's, magic forward to parry, repeat), but you can also run from corner to corner and taunt, while keeping the camera off her.

      Chapter 3: The Burning Ground
Chapter 5: The Lost Holy Grounds

Use Pulley's Butterfly + Evil Harvest Rosary for any dangerous groups, and Pulley's Butterfly + Moon of Mahaa-Kalaa for any 1v1 fights (when you're down to one Jeanne, Bayoclone, etc). Make sure to use Star of Dineta to heal before major fights, or really after any fight where there's easy enemies to heal from. There's no shame in using it to go into every boss fight at full health, and lots of enemies are safe to heal on like all basic versions of angels, Ardors, and Grace/Glory/Gracious/Glorious when fought alone. Put up Pulley's Butterfly, then taunt away while holding lock on to recover health and magic, panther away when approached, then repeat.
Don't be afraid to use Pillow Talk charge slashes to quick kill enemies; it's not good for combo points but if you don't care about combo score it's pretty effective.
Shuraba PKP weaves stagger Fairness and Fearless reliably, and are also one of the better ways of going after the Jeanne bosses when multiple Jeannes are active. Or nearly anything else for that matter.
Rockets reliably stagger many enemies and deal good damage while giving lots of combo points. They're also very effective 1v1 on Jeanne, as are the shotguns at close range, which she can't block. Bazillions are good on many angels, but are far less effective on Jeanne specifically, as instead of being suckered into trying to block the shots she responds to the damage by rushing in to attack you, and she dodges the full charge laser blasts easily.

You have to save your progress after the chapters to make sure it records the alfheims as cleared. If you're sure you have records in your play history for all alfheims cleared in a single chapter, then beat Jubileus again and try seeing the ending.
Most likely you missed clearing one though.

You unlock the third secret character of the game, Little King Zero, for beating this chapter. There's no reward for beating it with a certain medal, so feel free to abuse Star of Dineta for healing if you just want to clear this!
The only performance based rewards are unlocking Jeanne (beat all chapters on Normal with at least a Platinum ranking in each chapter or above), unlocking Bracelet of Time (beat any difficulty above Easy under a certain time, 3 hours I think, it's quite easy to do by rushing through areas), and unlocking Lost Chapter (find and clear every Alfheim, easiest to do on Normal).

It's also a fantastic way to instantly get hit and ruin a pure platinum run. The button mashing on Hard and NSIC difficulties require you to completely max out the meter, already a difficult task on the 30 FPS XBox 360 / PS3 versions, and a nightmarishly hard task on the 60 FPS ports like the PC version.
It's generally considered standard when playing Hard or NSIC to ignore the button mash prompts for this reason unless you've got an autofire setup, or you're using an exploit such as pressing both a controller button AND a keyboard button to mash faster (like how the PC version lets you). Most of my serious PP runs are shown without the use of autofire, though for casual play I definitely recommend it to spare your thumb and your controller. And I do have at least one "just for fun" PP run of Lost Chapter that uses autofire and does the counters: th-cam.com/video/XDcGdSnBZfo/w-d-xo.html

@@BareKnuckleRoo that's why I asked, because on the PC version, you can assign two buttons for kick and punch, like right mouse click, and some key on the keyboard like "F". So I always push the two buttons, and it fills up super fast. But I get it, it's a exploit.

I can't beat this. I can do every verse no problem other than the last two. The 3 Jeannes and the bayo with 5 health bars.
Had full magic and health but couldn't even beat one of them without getting my ass kicked in under a minute. Reaaaal salty 😒

    • @BareKnuckleRoo

The 3 Jeanne fight is arguably the hardest fight in the game if fought "normally" as they're 3 aggressive and wildly unpredictable targets. Make sure you're using Pulley's Butterfly to shield yourself from hits. Evil Harvest Rosary also interrupts them well and sets them up for being hit if you bust out a weave just as a bomb connects. My strategy is usually just to run around and PKP with Shuraba which has such a wide slash it frequently hits multiple Jeannes.
There is of course a way to exploit their AI if you want. They only attack when onscreen, so you can charge up Shuraba/Pillow Talk from offscreen (hide in the entry doorway) and unleash when you see their shadow approach. Sergey's Lover multiplies the damage from the charge slash unleash by a ridiculous amount, so you can always use that to cheese them.
Bayoclone is just an endurance fight. Jeanne alone and Bayoclone are easiest with rocket hands and gun feet IMO. You can pump out a constant barrage of rockets and bullets she'll try to deflect as rockets are flying at her. Just keep your magic up (I use Shuraba charge + parries, charging Shuraba or taunting halts the drain from Pulley's Butterfly while you're in the animation). Bayoclone can be safely healed on by running to the entry way, healing while holding lock on (which won't swing the camera around in the entry way), running to the far corner of the map when the boss approaches, then repeating. There's a number of ways to cheese the fights so don't feel bad resorting to those if need be!

@@BareKnuckleRoo At first I had the butterfly accessory with the heal taunt accessory, they're really useful to use, not to mention it increases your magic as well.
The start of the battle they instantly popped all my butterflies and I couldn't even catch up without getting combo'd and therefore left with like 3 orbs.
I quickly took out the heal taunt and replaced it with witch time accessory and equipped Rodin along with pillow talk and Lt.kigore . My strategy was to do spin kicks and stilettos with Rodin because they can massively recharge your magic as well as deal huge damage. I was planning on recharging magic to use witch time and just spam PPPPK with Pillow talk and Lt.kilgore.
I couldn't do get many hits with rodin as they kept dodging and weaving round the place, it got down to half a bar so I just equipped evil harvest rosary and kept attacking them in pure panic. Didn't work out.
I'll definitely try your tips though! I really appreciate the help, thank you so much!

@@wacklegend9334 Congratulations, I knew you could do it! There's really no shame using "cheesy" strats to beat them, especially if it's your first time beating Lost Chapter. That's the beauty of Bayonetta, there's tons of freedom in how you deal with enemies, and lots of frankly ridiculously powerful abilities, so you can choose how to play and make the game as easy or as difficult as you like.
