I’m absolutely guilty of neglecting the fundamentals because they’re not as interesting… I definitely want to try out doing studies like these!
You really should I did that mistake too for 3 years. Only copied reference of real life or peoples artwork and it did 0 help to me. Only made me use the pen better on paper but that's it. I've actually started to study anatomy and figure drawing books now and it really makes you see things differently. Try Michael Hampton figure drawing book I recommend it. Not much text and very important fundamentals for drawing bodies and gesture etc. Hopefully I can apply the knowledge well ❤❤
honestly yeah it bores me learning anatomy cause it’s not as fun as coloring…. but i should start coloring pretty pieces
I've only been drawing for the past week or so, but I'm happy that I started with the fundamentals like you know constructing the pose with a mannequin, learning anatomy, gesture drawing etc. I don't find these as boring as perspective but that's just me probably 😅
At first it's hard. But there honestly so interesting, I really like them. Give anatomy a shot. The body is fucking awesome
@@hellofellas9896 best thing is knowing the bones at every angle. Putting the muscles and skin is then easier
Is it normal to only be 2 minutes in and on the brink of frustration tears
2 minutes? the moment i pick up the pencil i feel like im gonna burst into tears of frustration
Yes.
Yes
Yes it absolutely is. My recommendation (how I got over this) is to really try and stop thinking of getting some kind of result, and instead just enjoy the process itself. Go into every session with no expectations, especially when you're new. Also, try to avoid setting any kind of timeline like "I'm gonna get good at drawing in X days/months/years". If you can get yourself in the headspace where you can accept that you might not like the current result, and don't feel pressured to get good fast, then you'll surprise yourself with how much fun you can have!

heard a great quote before:
"if you can't draw a simple shape and make it look interesting, how are you going to draw the more complex ones?"
drawing the simple stuff and getting good at it is simply necessary if you want to progress 👍
Thank you fore the quote!
"6 Steps to Draw Anything" - proko video with Antonio Stappaerts, the quote was from his teacher.
"Allah! There is no god but He - the Living, The Self-subsisting, Eternal. No slumber can seize Him Nor Sleep. His are all things In the heavens and on earth. Who is there can intercede In His presence except As he permitteth? He knoweth What (appeareth to His creatures As) Before or After or Behind them. Nor shall they encompass Aught of his knowledge Except as He willeth. His throne doth extend Over the heavens And on earth, and He feeleth No fatigue in guarding And preserving them, For He is the Most High. The Supreme (in glory)."
[Surah al-Baqarah 2: 255]
personally I recommend getting an anatomy encyclopedia cuz you can see every single muscle where it connects to the bone landmarks and how muscles look when stretched or compressed and for every action there is a reaction and make your sketches look like the muscles but not the actual muscle just a shape that looks like it and then flesh it out later and I recommend getting books about the subjects you want to study cuz they really help and try to make gesture drawing continues and smooth you don't need any muscles just the simplest shapes you can use. (also quick note if you can get colored pencils use them for the under sketch and then draw on them after fading them a bit for me when making characters and not studying I use red and blue for clothes/armour and I fade them with a kneaded eraser then draw on them and very important thing don't be afraid of making mistakes and just have fun with it cuz you don't want to feel like you're entitled to make it look good just do your best and with time and practice you'll get better) btw I'm trad so this is for the trad artists out there and well a lot of those things work on digital too and I do both actually
you got any names you would suggest?( books i mean)

I've been struggling with drawing for a while now. I've only started focusing on anatomy a few days ago, so seeing you post this really motivated me. Thanks!
Same I literally got started anatomy like yesterday, and I was struggling😂
@@X_luvs_art same, I could not draw and I was crying and having a breakdown bc of it 😭
@@k.kgacha I feel you, but one day we will get good at this so this problem we have now is only temporary
@@X_luvs_art you right
W pfp here to learn so i can draw Shirou
i jusr drew my first full body in so long. i’m happy with the results especially since i haven’t practiced in a year. this motivates me to continue to practice :) thank you so much for the helpful video, it opened my perspective
when i 1st started drawing when i young i totally skipped learning the fundamentals of art & drove str8 into it. while i did improve with time, at around jr high, i felt as if my art was so stagnant. it wasn't until recently i realized how important it was 2 learn color theory, proper anatomy, etc. as well as being able to take genuine constructive criticism. its rlly helped me 2 improve! im so gr8ful 4 the people who take the time 2 record lesson videos, tutorials, & guides like this! Thank you!!❤️
i normally just eyeball everything when I'm doing a sketch and try to fix it accordingly, but after understanding like basic shapes and fundamentals of it all it makes more sense and it wayyy easier
Been getting better at drawing cubes & shapes, which have been giving me a lot of motivation lately. Starting to draw actually references now. So I appreciate the uploads❤
Try drawing gesture it can be really fun and easy without stress. Also make you bigger at drawing bodies and making them show expression ❤❤
I noticed that you're style of drawing is analytical and structured, the gesture drawings are not loose which is totally OK because you simply follow your nature, but how long does a gesture drawing session lasts? I feel like you capture many elements in a fast amount of time
from my experience, dont worry about hyper fast gesture drawings or anything, but aim for 10 mins tops at the start and lower your time as you get better. learn body landmarks to capture those elements very quickly. niro has found a great way to do this with the placement of the torso and hips in ovals and rectangles, but whatever way works for you is good.
Dont worry about time, you become faster with experience
If time limits are super important, limit yourself to 1 minute per gesture sketch. The amount of sketches is unimportant just building the muscle memory is.
Finish your session with a 5 minute sketch and indulge yourself with extra detail.
Started to try out anatomy recently, and I was disappointed by my tries to draw from imagination, I need to start from the basics, thanks for this video! Your content breaks stuff down great NIRO.
this was genuinely one of the most helpful anatomy videos i've seen, thank you so much this was so helpful!!
Thank you, THANK YOU VERY MUCH! This literally enabled me to breakthrough what I was lacking on, thanks to you I finally fully understand 3 dimensional spaces and perspective!
This video really opened my eyes, I didn't think that drawing simple shapes would help but I guess it did. Thank you!
i can't even do gesture drawings😭
😂😂😂

Practice
real
this is insanely useful and even though i know I'll need a lot of time to understand everything and improve faster i already feel more motivated after watching this video
Put this video on loop while I practiced simple shapes cuz I j love your voice mixed with that music
the food analogy really helped me understand what he was talking about- your explanations really helped me understand since it wasnt all too complicated or overexplained like in most videos
The gesture drawings were SO HELPFUL TO ME !!!! thank you so much ‼️
When the world needed him most, Professor NIRO returned!
Great video, it was super insightful :) Massive congrats on 24k!!
For some reason, it’s soothing to listen to you talk while I draw😭😂
countless of tutorial i watched but this is the only one that i really understand love you bruv💆🤝
Your videos are sooo helpful! Thank you for making them🫶🏻
This honestly was very very helpful and definitely helped me progress. You just earned a subscriber.
Thank you for all of your videos! They give me so much inspiration and got me to practice anatomy everyday, and when I feel disappointed with what I draw I just remember to practice with discipline not motivation!💖
You should try posting your practice on social media or even on TH-cam. People can give you even more motivation and inspired to also study with you in art❤❤
this might be weird but I did get more familiar with anatomy when I started going to the gym lol. I get the sense of muscle connections, how big they have to be, how long, etc.
Thank you soo much bro.. I'm really tired of searching good anatomy videos on TH-cam but finally your video is a master piece
So far this video really helped me alot on what to do first, thanks alot
Literally? Thank you for what you do.
You're an inspiration to us all.
A very simple and excellent way of explaining the basics and foundations of anatomy! Thank you, @NIRO
Thank you for the video it was really helpful! I also like the small little character in the corner it is so cute!! 💜💜
super summary very useful, thank you keep it up it's very interesting to have this kind of video as a reminder!
This help better than any other video u made it sound so simple the other videos were full of memes and distracting me from learning thank u ❤
using forms to draw has been the best way for me to improve at drawing just about anything and I wish I learned it way sooner.
So much content! Definitely worth pausing to study! Thanks so much
Part 2 of this video pls you explain very well. the editing of the video makes it entertaining and dynamic
this video was very helpful !! and your art style is v pretty
This is litterally the only tutorial i learned from. You and drawing with waffles are gods.
Finally I been waiting for an upload 😀
this actually helped me thx alot! i understand your video so easily
woah this was a nice breakdown! it isn't in-depth, but that's what makes it exciting
Your video quality is improved. Amazing video
Finallyyyy I found the perfect educational vedio!
This is a really, really, well made video. Im a Games Designer, so i’m not just studying art, but also programming and psychology, so i’ve always feared how to fit all of this stuff in, how to break it all down and actually learn it all. I knew what I needed to learn, but didn’t know how to go about it beyond “gesture drawing and anatomy”.
If you’re at university there should be free classes you can go to where you can draw from a model in person. This is very useful to get a better understanding of depth imo, I do about 2 hours of this a week. Otherwise, there may be other places you can go to, to do this. I also know some people learn from using a mirror.
Your videos are dope, thanks!
this was really helpful, thank you so much.
it was very helpful keep up the good work !!!!💖💖
I love the little mini teacher Niro in the corner♥
Honestly, this is the best tutorial ive ever watched lmao
I FOUND THE METHOD PRAISE GOD 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🔥🔥
thanks NIRO😄
Thank you this is super helpful 😊
tysm!! this helped me so much!
i got kinda lost on what tolearn to draw so this video helped me a lot so thanks guy
Thank you. That's really useful
Thank you so much for this helpful tutorial! I suck at drawing anatomy (mainly focus on faces) but i learned that i have to stick to references. I learned so many things, so thank you once again!!
Also what's important is to draw the reference properly in your way by applying the anatomy studies you've learned etc. Try Michael Hampton book on figure drawing . Will definitely help alot ❤
For studying anatomy what I did was look at iron man the early movies the suit is litteraly boxes ang circlels
And for drawing legs look at any gundam. They're armor is litteraly general shapes on legs
thats smart
Thanks for this ❤
im more impressed how you find so many of these real life pose pictures as reference
the little teacher niro in the corner is so cute!!
Really love this video thanks wishing a beautiful day or night
Where was this when I needed it😭😭😭
thankyou for the helpful video!
Amazing help I was struggling with figure drawing that I almost quit art if I had not found this video in time I would have been long gone out of the art community
I haven’t gotten at better at drawing and I want to change that. We got this ❤
First off thank you again for this tutorial, and also your editing is very profession !
finally.. i learned it! :D
Thank you
この人がすごいと思いました
drew along with the video and god i feel powerful
it’s fire🔥
the great prophet niro has arrived to bless us with his knowledge! for me one things that helped a lot was basic shapes and learning basic perspective, for me the order that works best and i wish i did when i was younger would have been shapes, form, perspective, forms in perspective then started going into humans going from the top down
thank youuu!!!!
I started drawing in 2021 and I usually neglect learning how to draw the basic stuff too. I'm starting to practice more now because I've realized a limitation in my drawings hahah some of them are ending up crooked. Frustration might be a game changer lol
Niro! 🤩 Finally
Omg, dude. This is not a tutorial at all! This is the path to enlightenment. You saved me from being drowned in the ocean of information.
"This way we use our big brain"
damn it.
Thank you for the video
Didn't miss a thing👌
Thanks so much
mhmmm I feel stupid, but this tutorial works! thanks for the video :D
Idk why i understood this video more than the others. They all said what this video said but i didn't understand. But golly this vido just made it clear. Thanks
thanks for sharing 💯💯💯
I like this content you just try your best and be appreciated what your doing for me i try my best
please more detailed videos for each part
I noticed for your torso you're able to use boxes in different angles / perspectives to help pose your character. Do you have any recommended exercises for practicing boxes and posing them in different angles?
Thank you for making this video!
If you want try figure or gesture drawing rather than only boxes. I tried that but didn't help me personally
I personally used to sketch random objects laying around my desk! All of them (just like the human body) use basic 3D shapes for their structure and will have their own degree of perspective, so if drawing a more detailed human body is too daunting you could start off with that :^)
I recommend drawabox
For me I practice drawing shapes for the ribs I think it’s an egg shape
Finally I was waiting on this video since the last video what brushes do you use and what software
This is what i want!!!
I like the analogies
thank you
Thanks bro
I've seen a video like this before when i was starting out I was drawing shapes and it turned into a fighterjet
I start right off the bat and go hard. I have drawn heads more than a million times and now I can draw it any way I want to without any guidelines. I also started drawing heads without any guidelines and practiced with the same. Currently I am practicing most of the muscles of anatomy without any guidelines and also focusing on their movements.
Nice art
amazing video
As a beginner to drawing, you have shown a great way. I wonder if there is a guiding document available to draw anatomy?
Shit you not, I'm immediately better after this video. That's unreal. Thanks!
Thanks
very good video, I liked it
