- This 1972 Fender Stratocaster needed some attentions. This guitar is so old and have gone through so much work that 3 dots of the fretboard were missing or damaged. In the end we decided to change them all because the new one looked so good!
Of course we also did a good fret job, we restored the original Pickup configuration, we did a full setup an change of strings.
Enjoy!

The most satisfying moment in this video is when it gets its original pickup back. Good job :)
I totally agree!
Hard disagree
@@serpentsbane9166I disagree as well! I'm about to get a Strat sized humbucker for my 72 reissue.
I cut my teeth on a 74 bullet with three bolts, and while I have fond memories of it because it was my first real guitar, that thing never stayed in tune. Ever. That guitar was a CBS exercise in cost optimization. I cannot believe they actually reissued it. It would be like Gibson reissuing pancake Les Pauls as if it were a feature.
Great job on the dots and setup!
Thanks mate! Sorry to hear that you ‘74 strat gave you so much headaches!
Very nice restoration, I enjoyed this video, another restoration with ASMR qualities. Although for me personally it was very unfortunate that you restored the bridge pickup. This Guitar was clearly a player with a story and you erased some of that by reverting to stock. Sad to see so many vintage axes with a cool backstory so easily swept under the rug when we supposedly crave guitars with mojo...
I actually simply restored the original pickup, and that just because the humbucker wasn't working anymore
Hypnotic... 🤩
Fantastico!!👏👏👏👏🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸😏😏😏
Well done. Someone will pick that guitar up and smile when they play it.
Thanks mate!
Awesome man!!! Love you videos.. 👏👏👌🏼🤘🏼
Is this bridge replaced? Wadda beautiful guitar.very nice work.
Thank mate!
awesome work
Thanks mate!
I have the same guitar, 1 year older from 71. My paint is better, the neck is secured by 4 screws. The rod in the neck is adjusted at the bottom. Also, my guitar only has 1 string tree. My guitar should be worth a lot today.
Would love to hear what it sounds like... what pu did you replace the bridge one with?
What size of Allen key do you use for pickup height gap?
3/32" you can go even closer but keep checking the intonation of the strings at the twelve fret because when the pickups are to close you will start having intonation problems
Thanks
Honest advice.
Make your bench more rigid.
Make yourself a fret sanding stick with a hollowed edge to wrap the paper over when polishing.
Mask each fourth fret then recrown and polish them before moving on to the next set. This avoids the tedious and wasteful masking of the whole fretboard.
Yes sure. Fender from this era had some poor build quality.
Thank you for the advice, I'll give them a try!
OK elle sonne comment ?
