    I love this stuff. People helping others to learn , especially something like music!
    There is hope for humanity, yet; I swear there is.

      I hear that! Sure there’s the super commercialised content being churned out these days, but I love that everyone now has an opportunity to share their ideas and information. 🤘😎

    I tend to record bass direct in garageband, as I do (did) to tape. Either direct through the instrument input or at most through one of the amplitube low gain ampeg models.

    Some interface pre's are noisier than others when boosting more towards top limit before clip. One thing i do, is run
    the guitar through just a boss EQ pedal before the interface( or similar...i just use the boss). i then just add a touch of gain from the pedal (sometimes a small tone adjustment if desired), but mainly just small(very small), gain from eq. it allows a better signal i have found, and one can run the interface pre's lower. better waveform, less noise. wouldn't have to be EQ pedal, something like a clean boost pedal(like MXR micro amp or similar) would work also. just a thought, something you may want to experiment with. all the best for your endeavors!...i go by fred....just goofed long ago when i made the account using my first name :-). Especially helps with single coils or low output guitars. All this just helps keep the interface pre's set a little lower but with still a nice quiet signal.

    Do you know what it means when you're recording and you can hear the processed sound (like a distorted amp) PLUS the clean signal at the same time?

    • @PeteJohnsMusic
      @PeteJohnsMusic  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey there. Yes, sounds like you might be monitoring through your software and hardware at the same time. Turn the direct monitoring off and monitor just through the app.

    Alright, I'm having trouble using the amp sims.When I'm trying to record guitar or bass, I'm getting almost no signal, even though the gain is set correctly on the interface, The amp is doing weird. things.I tried to use one of the amp simulators with effects on it. The effect was there, but there wasn't a pedal in front of the amp. I tried the tried and true fixes, turning the pad on and off uninstalling garage band and re downloading it. I'm really getting tired of downloading these soundpacks. Could you please help?

      Hey there. The gear used is a guitar, bass and interface. Not really sure how you’re recording without these? I have virtual guitar videos if you are just using GarageBand. th-cam.com/video/kiCgUtGDK1E/w-d-xo.html&feature=shares
