Honey Bees Ready For The Storm (Hurricane Helene Prep In The Apiary)

Join us as we prepare our bee hives for the arrival of Hurricane Helene. With our hives secured on steel frames, we take extra precautions to protect them from the storm. After our experience with Hurricane Debby, we’ve added large timbers to the bottom of each frame for additional weight and use nylon straps to keep the hives firmly in place. We are all safe! The storm passed us around 2am. The wind had gusts of 95mph, with a constant of 30 to 50mph.
