Here are my insider hacks for enjoying The Palace to the fullest and cheapest; try the Saturday breakfast buffet and then stay for the free tour which will take you behind the scenes to some of the most gorgeous rooms and wrap with a complimentary glass of bubbly under the crystal dome.

Thank you for the memories...we used to go with my parents and relatives every Easter. I am going to have to start a monthly brunch tradition. As a native I prefer this glorious classic architecture to all the monstrous high-rise condos going up in the city....

Thanks for your video on The Palace a truly beautiful place to splurge on the breakfast buffet. And at $40 quite a bargain when a cheeseburger and fries with shake set me back that much at a trendy place which I will not name. The information on the free Saturday tours are worth $40 alone. You are a treasure of information of my favorite city.

Hi Zeene, we watch & enjoy your San Francisco video's each weekend as our wine and cheese entertainment evening/s. We don't get to 'subscribe' etc as we watch it via TH-cam on TV and therefore don't see all the "Subscribe Buttons" like now here on this computer (TH-cam fix?). We stumbled across your video series and watched as many as we could before our Empty Nest Getaway to San Francisco in April 2019. We had booked a week and have just returned and visited so many of your tips / recommendations. We totally re-organised our tour due to your videos and wanted to thank you so much for all your research. We had breakfast at the Palace, we had drinks at the Piped Piper, we had a Sushrito (chicken), the Coit Tower Step climb and the list goes on and on. My wife and I said so many times during the week 'what would we have done without Zeene?" So big thank you from two Australian's that thought we really liked San Francisco, but now say we love it. Much Appreciated!

Hello! So I just checked and unfortunately the tours are temporarily suspended due to covid. They've even suspended the free tour of the Palace Hotel given by the public library. Sorry about that! Hopefully we will get back to normal soon and they will start the tours back up. In the meantime you are free to go in and wander around the public areas yourself.

@@elyrojas4738 hello, unfortunately they’ve suspended tours. However, check San Francisco City Guides (affiliated with the public library) who do tours of the hotel. Probably no champagne though :(

Technically this tour does not need advanced reservation, however, I've found it best to call ahead so they are prepared for you. There are days when no guests show up so this alerts then that someone will be showing up. It is given by the Concierge so ask to speak to the desk -- they are super helpful and nice!

Hi SAnDee! I just called the hotel and unfortunately they are still on hiatus from covid and no information on when they are going to start this up again. Bummer. There is another tour offered by the San Francisco Public Library that comes through the Palace Hotel but it's not at the same level of access.

Hi sophie75! It's really beautiful - nope, do not need to be a guest to enjoy the buffet, drinks lobby area, or go on the tour!

Yep, Mon-Sat breakfast buffet is $37pp + tax & tip.
Don't know if they do it anymore but on Halloween there's a free tour of the supposedly haunted areas of the hotel. In truth, it's not very creepy as you're there with about 100 other people or more and if *I* were a ghost I'd keep away. 👻

@@ZeeneInRealLife There's also a similar haunted tour of city hall and like the Palace tour, not very creepy since you're surrounded by about 100 people or more.
There used to be one of the Presidio but I haven't seen anything about it in years.

@@ZeeneInRealLife So I went on the tour with a friend today and had a blast! As the tour got started, the concierge conducting the tour asked how I found out about it and I mentioned this very video. The other couple broke into a grin and said that's how *they* found out about it too!!
I asked about the Halloween tour and the concierge admitted she'd never gone on it herself. She also said that a number of her colleagues *had* experienced some type of supernatural encounters of their own which confirms the hauntings....

Certain parts of the video was panned too fast and not only does it make the viewers feel dizzy, it defeats the purpose of recording it since you couldn't really see it. Slow it down please.
