you need to balance over an area about the size of a basketball and when you switch from one setting to another you need to rebalance, auto 2 is often just too hot to use causing missed targets. Use the setting that will stay balanced and auto 1 often is the best here in AZ, nice gold
Hey, Bill. Yeah I usually do ground balance in a circular area but in this case there was a lot of variation in the ground and couldn't get it to balance that way. I did have to use Auto 1 quite a bit but I'm stubborn and want to use the hottest setting at all times...lol. I hear you though!

I know how annoyed you get when people don't balance their machine properly...lol... and maybe your right, I should of dropped down to auto 1 or even below that...I was having some issues out there. Not to mention all the hidden little iron stones everywhere...If you ever come up this way let me know...! or maybe I can make it out to your area at some point...?

I was out in cleator..bumblebee area yesterday also..hit a few old spots I knew of and some new ones..beleive or not bbs led me to my first piece of gold out there..bb wedged in hardpark dug it out and there was a piece of gold under it..bbs suck but also a good indicator gold could be near also sometimes....so like u said dig everything!! @@stephenshort839 I actually got a dry washer, its just in Mariposa, Ca. Need to take a trip out that way to get it and hit some old patches! I've been looking at vacuums and they are not cheap... I'll probably make my own.

@@metaldetectingforarizonago7685 having bad luck all year with no gold. Wondering if you would put out a information video. What you look for in a wash, how you’re swinging the detector while you’re searching etc... would be very helpful for me
@@matthewprice7264 Well, lucky for me I have had a friend of mine point me in the right direction a few times. Most people don't want to give up the info but I have been lucky. The best advise however has always been to go where gold has been found before. One time I found a new wash simply by walking through it and noticing chunks of iron stone. At this point I will always check any washes that I find Iron Stone in...Also, if theres quartz in the area thats always a good indicator. I've spent most of my detecting years in California and have been detecting since 2000. The geology in California is much different than Arizona and I'm still learning the state. I started in arizona by joining the road runners club. I was walking in about a mile into the claims because of my cars clearance and just hitting any and all bedrock. Dig the trash, if its there and there is gold in that wash, your probably going to eventually find something. And once you do, that should inspire you enough to work through the trash and bb's... I do have plans on doing some videos on doing research but I cant promise that it will be happening anytime soon... just know that google earth is your friend...look for mines and do research on them if you can... I've also learned that in arizona gold can literally be anywhere...not just in the washes but in the banks and who knows where else... If you see quartz and Iron Stone though, detect...!

Nice gold!! I see alot of people hunt in the setting just before auto 1.. but in hot ground its almost impossible so also usually hunt in auto 1 or 2.

Not new to detecting and figure the monster out in 2 days to work it to my advantage .
I wouldn't balance it the way he does it .got to move the coil away from target and balance and have to balance every time a setting is changed .
Normally a one way signal is a hot rock or just the ground.
Take it off all metal mode when in doubt and listen for the beep in both directions and if still in doubt dig it .
Sometimes the ground changes to much to balance over a bigger area... and I'm not really into dropping the sensitivity down in order to do so. Thanks for watching.

Thanks Manny... I learned to metal detect in Mariposa Ca were there is far less open ground to work. I had to hit all the common spots everyone hit. I quickly learned that the only real way I was going to find gold was to dig up all the trash that people hate digging. I usually would get to some gold after cleaning the area up...It can be very discouraging though, especially those bb's!

i have been finding 30, 50 and 70 mesh gold, but none of the gold i found was found with my gold monster 1000. just cannot make it see anything that small.
Is this the MPAA claim in Cleator?
Never heard of MPAA. Its a private claim that I may one day invite my Patreons to come out to...If I ever get some...lol
you have an older model ? the middle button hold it down does it blink. (fast balance) go slower that detector will find specs. not far down. but specs. i have the newer model. were you can hold the middle button down. i hunt in auto 1 i will try some of your stuff (watching) your lcd. have a good day. thats a bad ass detector.

did you just admit to being a greedy gringo prospector trust me go slower with the gold monster. i cleaned some black sand out of the snuffer. and it had a few specs in it. so i messed around with my gold monster to get it to sound off but slower. have a good day boss.
