So you're seeking recognition & respect via legislation? Hmm... That's not a good proposition to me.
The Filipino LGBTQIA+ community is not even monolithic re support of the SOGIE Bill. The question, therefore, is how many of thelis said community is pro-, on on hand, & anti-SOGIE Bill on the other?
And what right does these pro-SOGIE Bill LGBTQIA+ have in representing the whole LGBTQIA+ community when the other members of their community are not even supportive of the SOGIE Bill?

Quick question: Do we have different definition of EQUALITY?

@ChooxX 2 Go Vehemently disagreed! It is never asking for another rights. It is recognizing a right that is deprived in the first please. Anong karapatan ng ibang sabihing paghihingi ito ng extra rights well in fact and in truth these rights which is due to LGBTQ+ are never been given as it should. It is never breaking the right of cis gender. If at all, it respects all gender. SOGIE Bill is not asking for cis men and women to go down but it is asking them to pull LGBTQ+ so that we could stand on the same ground.
Furthermore, under the Constitution there should be one definition of equality. And this equality has never been felt by the LGBTQ+ hence the plea for the Bill. In all legal aspects and objective lenses the Bill is valid and proper. You cannot counter argue that the LGBTQ+ community is using feelings to ask for another rights, if at all the arguments for the passing of the Bill are more objectives than those who opposed who used feelings and religion to counter argue - such a lame arguments in the eyes of law.

Tama rin yung sinabi nung isang trans sa video, na kapag trans pinatay halos walang aksyon pero kapag cisgender aksyon agad. Minsan nasisi pa yung trans. Kung sinasabi nyo na baka 'maabused' yung sogie bill, and mawawalan ng right yung mga heterosexuals to speak up dahil baka makasuhan/makulong. May proper investigation naman and procedure tulad nung ginagawa sa ibang kaso. The Lgbtqa+ rights have been oppressed for millenia and we only want is for equal rights and opportunities. Syempre kung may anti-SOGIE Bill sa video, magkakaroon sila ng representative which is not the purpose of the entire video. The video promotes awareness of the bill and para mas maeducate not only those who doesn't support the bill but also those who fights for it. Ang future of women's sports talaga ang unang sumagi sa isipan ko and not the religious aspects eh. Napansin ko rin naman na medyo nagpa-pattern tayo sa Western countries. actually the answer to this is very simple, sabi ni Ms. Geraldine Roman sa episode nila sa bottomline is "ano bang unang hinihingi pag mageenroll ka sa school? diba birth certificate, so anong sex ang nakalagay sa birth certificate? male. so may valid reason ang school"
so i think depende na din talaga sa institutions if gusto nila i alter ang rules and regulations nila to be more inclusive.

      1. labor law- all individual qualify to a certain job shall take the position.
      - in sogie application from lgbt being rejected shall have a corresponding penalty. ( try to check your qualification first)
      2. separation of state in church
      - preaching once religion is not a problem
-, in sogie, discrimnation that was cause by preach is a criminal offense.
      3. discrimation - what is the meaning of discrimation. the broad spectrum of discrimination should be tackle and discuss in the law.

I have no high hopes for some Filipinos to understand why this anti-discrimination law is important for not just the lgbtq+ community but to many that are underrepresented. LGBTQ+ community is not just letters, these are hard-working, respectful, law-abiding and TAX-PAYING individuals. So to say that everyone has equal rights in the Philippines, is wrong! The lgbtq+ community contributes as much as anybody. So why can’t they have a right that will protect them from being discriminated from getting the job, the respect, or even just a place in the community they live in?

Remember, so many gays have become straight so thats a testament of temporary sexual dysphoria. People of position, don’t ride on this simple CR incident. As of now, we have not heard anything on what the other 2 ladies that complained on Diez and find out their feelings knowing theres a transgender (can be a pervert ) in their restroom. How would you feel if your 10 year old daughter goes to use a public restroom and an obvious transgender follows her at 9 pm or later....Ontiveros, are you still comfortable or would there be a little bit of worry - be HONEST for once....every one put yourself on this situation ....enough said and peace ✌️

What will happen to churches of other denominations that will not employ LGBTs as pastors in compliance with their biblical beliefs? In all of these possible scenarios, the proposed bills may be used to take legal action against churches, mosques, temples, religious communities and faith-based organizations resulting in fines of up to 500,000 pesos or imprisonment of up to 6 years. Proponents of the bill have always asserted that ensuring non-discrimination for LGBTs on the basis of their sexual orientation and gender identity will not diminish or encroach on the rights of others. But the penal provisions of the proposed law say otherwise. Surely, we cannot expect the followers of the great religious traditions of the world to change their doctrines to accommodate a law that will violate their fundamental right to freely practice the very religion that they uphold. Forcing organized religion to set aside or modify its tenets is as absurd as forcing LGBTs to change their sexual orientation and gender identity.

Babae ka! at the end of the day LGBT community, in the eyes of God, all of us will face him! sabagay, most of you people are not of God! dahil ang mga kagaya ninyo ay sinunog na sa Sodoma at gomora! :) Wake up people, all of us will be judge, and will be judge according to Gods law! and in the Bible, #walang created na Bakla or Lesbian! dahil ang ginagawa ninyo ay against the teachings of Christ! #HABANGBUHAY! araw araw gabi gabi tsk tsk tsk :( :( :( tsk tsk tsk LGBTQ+ community does not really know, the true teachings of the Bible!

NO TO DISCRIMINATION in any form or to any one - black, fat, disabled, gay, poor, etc etc. But what is DISCRIMINATION? Looking down and treating someone less than a human being. The thing is there are some who also abuse the definition to the point of narcissism or entitlement. Just because they were turned down on something, discrimination already.

In light of recent events regarding Alex Diaz being outed without his consent, I just read about the SOGIE Bill situation in the Philippines.
It's literally a law that simply says "do not discriminate LGBT people" or "LGBT deserve the same rights under the Philippine constitution." Or something like "do not discriminate any Filipino under sexual orientation."
It is so disappointing seeing many Filipinos in the comments section being so against it and thinking LGBT people want special treatment. They literally just want equality and not be treated as second-class citizens?? How is this a hard concept to grasp?? Canada has a law that specifically says not to discriminate people for their sexuality.
It's even more infuriating how internalized homophobia made LGBT people speak out against it thinking that getting validation for their opinions will make them favoured by homophobic bigots. No, you're literally asking to allow yourself to be hated for who you are.
Hinahanga ko kayong mga nasa video and yung mga students from UP, Ateneo, Le Salle, etc. Lahat kayo ang future ng Pilipinas. Sana in a few year's time maging mas accepted ang LGBT people there. It's clear na ang educated are at the right side of history.

Pero ang sa akin lang, there are laws n covered n yan, may equality n talaga. What your’re sayin, is to accept things based from ur own perspektiba, them that’s not equality but bullying. Right now there are lots of lgbtq+ in the highest position, but the’re never complaining, if u asked them they are against the idea. Gender identity is fine if not to all. You can identity your gender based on ur own feelings, thats fine! But please dont make it come to concrete reality by passing a law. Ur feelings and my feelings are not a solid foundation. In fact there’s one said “decide when u are not driven by feelings or emotion”, How about the word of God? Just because marami na tayong nalalaman na paliwanag, we tend to kick the Creator? Nabuhay tayong lahat because of His Love dont give HIM the reason to Kill us! Matagal na tayong pinagpapasensyahan ng ating Panginoon. Dont give us the excuse God loves us, equal in his eyes. Yes but not the sins!

    1. "Wag mahiyang mag-tanong" - So we've reached societal standards that we need to ask every person regarding their orientation, so names based on gender; or even by simple looks cannot determine your gender? A law (ie. SOGIE) should not be convoluted with new terms that will confuse the general populous.
    2. "It's all about respect" - And yet we force people to call you new terms that they aren't comfortable with, respect should be equal and not be covered by some law that is clearly biased to LGBTQIA+ people.
    3. "Oportunity to educate yourself" - With all the previous research about gender dysphoria, they are still considered theories -we cannot force society to follow your "feelings" just because you don't follow basic human decency (ie. you were born a man, therefore should use a male lavatory). A mother with their child would ask "why is a man dressed as a woman in our CR mommy?" would cause more harm because it'll make the child think that the MALE/FEMALE sign in a restroom is not a rule but merely a guideline.
    4. "Do not let your prejudiced minds or bigoted thoughts, to get in the way of the rights of other people" - Well... Your statement is contradictory, the majority of society is heterosexual -and you are the vocal minority, should the law be biased with the minority? The US is doing it -and look whats happening in their country right now.
    5. "Maraming studies..." - All are theories, none are considered facts -gender dysphoria is the best LGBTQIA+ could provide as their source, but the end study was not even confirmed.
    6. "Gender and sexuality are a lot more complex" - If you want REAL equality, then we are indeed HOMOSAPIENS -but adding a label to something makes it more POSSESIVE. And here I thought the LGBTQIA+ wants equality, apparently they want their labels to be enforced. That's not equality, that's one-upping society who has a standard set-up already.
    7. "Years of maltreatment and discrimination..." - After all that strong talk about being equal and unified, you act like a victim now? Like I said, LGBTQIA+ doesn't want equality... they want to be treated special.
    8. "There are a lot of genders identities in the spectrum..." - For a law to be passed, that "spectrum" needs to identify HOW MANY terms are there in LGBTQIA+, the law is precise unlike your "special terms".

You raised some interesting arguments. I commend you for spending that extra time to voice out your opinion on the matter at hand.
I am a cisgender and I am currently trying to understand both parties regarding the SOGIE Bill and whether or not our society will benefit from the law. Here are my thoughts so far:
The SOGIE Bill or Anti-discrimination bill is a bill that already passed the lower house in legislation and is currently being processed in the second reading of the Senate (or upper house). Tito Sotto who is currently the head of the Senate openly declared that the bill is unlikely to be passed as majority of the upperhouse is against it.
Advocates of SOGIE claim that this bill is for all, either you are cisgender or trans. LGBTQIA+ and women just happen to be at the short end of the deal (meaning, they have it less) than that of men so in that light, most of the explanations of certain situations are made with scenarios regarding this. We all have sexual orientations, gender identities, and expressions which this bill will protect as a secular and civil right.
This bill is made for the recognition of the men and women together with this minority (LGBTQIA+) and to protect their rights for their SOGIE (sexual orientation, gender identity, and expression) as this will no longer be a parameter for them to be discriminated about in the society, workplace, and government institutions. No one will be forced to call someone through who they identify as, in adverse to what you've written. It's just that we are urged by this bill to be more considerate with others' rights as human beings of the same citezenship, as co-Filipinos, and see them as *who they are* not just what they wear and who they are attracted to.
The equality that SOGIE wants to bridge is not formal equality but substantive equality which means that no man is born equal and since people such as the gays, lesbians and the like have lesser, it is the job of the State to ammend that inequality for their constituents to stand on equal footing.
Anti-SOGIE people such as Rep. Eddie Villanueva claim that this bill will threaten parental rights to which if you actually *read* the bill, in section two you'll be able to see that the bill states the parents' upbringing and religious beliefs that are made and taught for the child's best interest will remain to be of paramount importance.
When a child asks regarding a man crossdressing, it's totally up to the parent to respond to that. Being in a democraric country means we have the right for expression. No matter how much you pamper a child, he will encounter complex situations anyway so there is no use for censoring for "the children's sake". It's better that we raise children who are well-equipped to face life's challenges head on.
Pageants and sports that have separation of gender will now be inclusive having a third bracket for the transgender people or not at all depending on the organizers.
Those who will be sanctioned for discrimination on the basis of SOGIE will be highly deliberated on in court and will be punished accordingly if proven guilty.
Implications of SOGIE or anti-discrimination bill incliude the workplace (applications, promotions, etc.), government institutions (incentives, civil rights, etc.) and school (bullying, curriculum, etc.).

God bless this. It's a slippery slope is all I can say. Much worse than the US, are the "progressive" Scandinavian nations where boy, girl, man, woman, gender, sex, and other related terms don't even fully mean what they have for 99.9% of human history anymore.

Base on my feelings I am robot. Is that ok base on biological dna. There is no gay genes. Being homosexual is base on influencial by sorrounding. Gay people have mental issues same as psychopath. Sabi sa feelings ko na alien ako, Sabi sa feelings ko dios ako. Ok ba? Hindi. What if Jesus was gay and mary was lesbian is that ok? No. What is the bases of your morality as a gay or lesbian person?

What is gay bisexual transwoman was terminated or fired from work due to negligence, incompetency etc and use this bill as a defence mechanism saying that they discriminated inorder to save them from being fired or terminated.
I used to work in an American firm in manila but was closed. The company has policy about gender equality and respect. Transwoman or gay employee uses male toilet while lesbian uses female toilet.
If lgbtq people want to be respected, firstly they should respect people around them. If the female are not happy or reluctant to have transwoman or gay. They should respect that. Is lesbian or happy to use male toilet?
