One thing I adore about this scene is the dual purpose of the animation. Once the bird lands, Curtis is entirely immobile, while Dan continues to use his usual idle animation. It puts focus on the bird, but it also contrasts behavior; Curtis is completely serious, while Dan acts like he's bored out of his mind.
God, I love how every word Dan says in this scene just oozes condescension and smug superiority. Everything about him in this scene makes it clear he's surpassed his former mentor, the one who stabbed him in the back and killed him, and he knows it.
Two things about the battle: 1) Creepiest boss music i've heard in a long time 2) i love how when you land a shot, the graphics go wireframe to indicate score

For those not keeping score, the pigeon flies a few seconds after you hear it coo. This chapter freaked me out the first time I played through it... mainly because Curtis is a creepy enough bastard that he makes the team of assassins you're controlling look reasonable.
I bought this game (gamecube version) at the san diego comic con 2006 for $10, best 10 bucks i've ever spent. I haven't played a game yet that feels like this game.
Wow this game did not get enough praise on how awesome creative, and unique this shit is. Suda 51 other games compared to suda 51 aren't that great in my opinion but this game is a masterpiece. Only wish it was longer.

After 10 years of intense research, I have determined that I was in fact wrong about the voice actors. Michael Gough (VA for Dan Smith) voiced Osmund Saddler in Resident Evil 4, though so I knew he sounded familiar somehow.
Honestly felt the same way. The build up made it seem like it you're going up against a professional killer and that it's going to be fair game, which it is, but I was expecting more of a epic shootout and not uhhhh this lol
As much as I know, "the neck" could also mean the way birds flutter them when they make sounds, thus technically the kid warned him that once the bird makes a sound, he better be careful. Justified by this clip right here, since the bird only takes off for real after it makes a sound.
This boss battle is so satisfying. After seeing what Curtis had done to Pedro and his family, you can't help but feel Pedro's anger. You've come not only for your objective, but to avenge you and your partner's death.

i luv this fight its kind of like a holy version of a cowboy duel and ive always loved the oddness of the game especially the two office brain bosses and all the evil laughs
The members of Killer 7 were all living people in the past--they were killed by Emir, and Harman's god-like abilities (he is a god, afterall) brought all of those dead people into Emir/Garcian's memory. The memories are all real, because they were inserted from the deceased. It's all about two gods squaring off: Kun Lan and Harman Smith.
I'd say it's him and Mask really. Mask gave DePaul the benefit of the doubt and saved him. Dan is just an epic badass with a score to settle. Actually if you think about it, Dan's real enemy is Pedro, he's the one who got him killed. Though since Pedro was dead already and Curtis was the target, this still works out in his favor.
When it comes down to Kun vs Harman, you gotta ask yourself, who is God? Who is Devil? And then you gotta ask yourself- whose side are you on, anyways???
Well the trailer looks cool so far, way darker than No More Heroes and Lollipop. I mean I love those games, but it's been awhile since Suda got a more serious tone. Even Shadows of the Damned was more on the funny side (but also awesome^^). I just hope for a more complex story after that streak of mindless games that he put out after killer7 =)
I probably didn't phrase myself quite right. I wasn't thinking that they were the same persona, more that they have very similar personalities; Dan was Curtis' protege after all.

This is a pretty easy boss fight and it is true that you shoot when the bird makes the sound and flies off. Just don't get too trigger happy or impatient or you're fucked.
Fitting in with the cyclic theme of this game's story, Curtis is pretty much just an older more corrupt version of Dan; perhaps how Dan would have turned out if he hadn't died, err... twice.

Gamecube disks could only hold 1.5GB and Killer 7 was made exclusive for the gamecube.
