Zapier errors and how to troubleshoot them

  • If your Zaps don't work the way they should, how do you go about fixing them? The best thing to do is to go into the task history and follow the chain of events to see what happened. You should see a task that hit an error or filtered out for some reason. You can then view the data to see why the error occurred.
    Was all the correct information submitted and in the right format? Often filters can cause issues and you need to think carefully through the logic of what data is required to make a Zap run (what if a field is empty?).
    Sometimes apps get disconnected. Try reconnecting or see if it's been updated.
    TIP: Run through your Zap manually through each step with a clean set of test data.

    hey Paul I am struggling big time with my zapier account please help!! every time I try to add my teachable account I keep getting error code 401 Unauthorized

    Pls do you know what might be the reason for my zap turning off immediately after switching it on?
    No error while creating it just switch itself off

      I'm not sure sorry. Usually they'll tell you the error. It could be that a required field is missing.

    may anyone help regard this error on Zapier "Error while hydrating data from Google Drive: ENOSPC: no space left on device, write"

    I'm not sure what changed but I realized Zapier doesn't rerun the Zap with error using the new version I've edited, but the old version that causes the error in the first place. 😔

      It sounds like you didn't publish the changes to the Zap after you made the edits. Check that you don't have a pending draft saved.

      That means zapier access was revoked, probably due a password change or something. You can reconnect your app account to zapier to solve the issue

    Hi, Paul! How do I Disable or uncheck the "Required" option on Zapier? The email is required and some contacts doesn't have email and it becomes an error

      What action are you using? If the action is to send an email, this would be required so there is no way to remove it I'm afraid. Instead, include a filter so the Zap only runs for contacts where the email exists.

    Hey Paul, i have a question. I authenticated followup boss in zapier, made a zap, got it to work and then a few days later it said "failed CRSF". I went to apps and tested the connection and it still said connected. Tried re-authenticating another API and also a new FUB account and still received the same failed crsf error :/

      Sorry, that error sounds quite specific to the app which I haven't used before. When this kind of thing happens to me, I reach out to Zapier support to see if they can troubleshoot it on their end.

      Hi there, what do you mean by "missing leads"? You mean the Zap can't see them when you search for them? It may be best to reach out to Zapier support for this issue.

    Paul, I am getting an error code in
    zapier stating 4401Invalid parameter for the date of birth. I keep getting this error. When I delete the field it works fine but I need the date of birth. the format is YYYY-MM-DD does that make a difference? Please help

      You don't usually end with a search. Normally a zap contains a search which you then use the output of within an action step. I expect this is the issue.

    Hey Paul I tried to do a zap where everytime I add a video into a folder in google drive it gets uploaded to TH-cam but when I transfered a video file to that folder the zap didn't trigger can you help?

    Hi, Paul! Thanks so much for your helpful videos😊 Please help! I am struggling so much to make my zap work. I'm trying to send a recurrent email every month, which should be fairly easy. But everytime I'm going to enter data into the "to" box (where email addresses should go), it displays a drop-down menu with the following options: 1. Date month 1. Date year 1. Pretty date... and so on. It doesn't show me my contacts even after selecting my gmail account, and it doesn't let me type them in manually either. It also displays the same menu for most of the fields, which makes it impossible for me to set. What can I do?

    Hey guys,
    I am trying to automatically transfer a few pieces of information from a new Magento order to a google spreadsheet. But when I want to select "payment information" (example: moneytransfer, paypal, credit card...), which is shown in Magento orders, but I can't find it as an option in Zapier when selecting which fields/elements I want to transfer to a new spreadsheet row.
    I hope someone can help me. Thanks, to anyone who will take the time to help me.

      Unfortunately it sounds like Magento haven't included this information in the integration. I'd suggest contacting them to see if they can update their integration.

      I'm not sure to be honest, it might be a Zapier issue or maybe it's an issue with Discord. But I'd recommend reaching out to Zapier and they'll be able to narrow down where the delay is occurring.

      This would indicate there's an issue with your trigger and Zapier isn't receiving the data or is not being triggered for some reason.
