Welcome or welcome back to my channel. My name is Jess and I love doing DIY, making clothes in a "simply but pretty" way.
In today's video, I'm going to share with you the third episode of the Dating wardrobe series. Dating wardrobe is the sewing tutorial series where I will share with you my picks for the dating outfits I would love to wear on the different types of dating. And in this video, I'll share with you how I made my lunch date outfit. I choose the sleeveless milkmaid mini dress for this date. It's a pretty but also a bit sexy dress. The fitted look makes it sexy but the mini length makes it feel active. That's why it's perfect for a quick lunch date. I hope you like it and try it out.

- Material: 1m of soft cotton fabric
- My body measurements: 82-66-92cm. I'm 165cm tall and usually wear Small size.

I love your tutorials, very detailed.
Just did this super cute dress, it was my first time making an actual garment, very easy to follow the steps.
Maybe it's common sense for experience sewers but I recomend to try on the dress just before the step at 11:00, to make sure there is no gaps or anything (I had a little probleme with the under-arm area, maybe I made à mistake at the pattern making).

What type of fabric did you use and where did you get it, if you don't mind me asking?
OMD I can't wait to make this for the summer!!! I feel like it would look gorgeous with puff sleeves in a satin fabric for a more dressier look- like an evening date. But I love watching your tutorial so please keep up the good work☺

Thank you so much for this tutorial! For future patterns, it would be helpful to know how you determined the size of your darts. I'm a very different size and I wasn't sure how to determine what mine should be.

It's a mix of cotton and muslin fabric

Very new to sewing but this was a great tutorial! Still having issues measuring myself properly so I’ve actually made 2 of these dresses - one that fits and one that’s too small! 🙈 I made them out of cotton but found they were quite stiff, does anyone have any fabric recommendations?
Try rayon mixed fabrics. It worked for me. 🙂
Make sure to cut on the bias of cotton fabric so that the dress has a little stretch to it
please tell me, is it possible to sew ribbed fabrics?

At 1:23 does someone know what the measurement is supposed to be? From the shoulder to the nipple? I don’t know what “from above to the middle of the breast” means and I can’t seem to figure it out😅
It's the width from the highest position (which is also the position of the shoulder strap) to under your armpit

So "from above to the middle of the breast" means from the top of the shoulder to the middle of the breast? I made this pattern for my wife but the bust had a lot of left over material - I need to start again but I want to know where I went wrong...
@@georgeisratemint I had this same issue, ended up just sewing another inch further in on either side of the bust part. No idea where it went wrong though either!

how do you make a loose seam? does anyone know a good tutorial for it?
I use a straight stitching with the maximum thread range which is the between gap between 2 needles
