I am redoing the front suspension and had an interesting situation installing new bearings on a brand new 126 spindle with factory installed TRW ball joint. We tried and tried to put the outer bearing on the spindle and it wouldn't go on. We concluded that either the bearing was too small or the spindle was too large and needed to be milled.! I went around to different machine shops and no one could help. So I went to the owner of a Indy MBZ who was former shop manager at Augusta Ga MBZ dealer and showed him the spindle and bearing. To my amazement, he slipped the bearing on the spindle in a few seconds and then took it off. "HOW DID YOU DO THAT?" I said. He said "you have to be very gentle because the tolerances are so small, any forcing it won't work." 30 years as a MBZ 126 mechanic helped a lot, too.😃 So I bought lunch for him and his crew. A small price for what he did..And, no pizza for you, but thanks for the great videos.😃
It’s so hard to find quality tires anymore. I am constantly checking my tires on all my cars. Use my oil change intervals as a good time to take a look. Glad you found it before it got dangerous
What was the date the tires were manufactured? They looked like good tires just judging from the tread (aside from bald patch), but tires will sometimes sit on the shelf for quite a time.
You're correct. I did not think about that until much later. This model of Cooper tire is no longer made. I'll have to get a different brand unfortunately. Going with Falken this time.

😁 Thanks for stopping by !
Dang, now I’m going to have to jack up and check my front wheel bearing plus inspect the tires on my classic Mercedes.
It will sneak up you.
Great catch!

Thanks! Me too!
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I like the Romex wire idea. I've been using whatever is handy....but Romex scraps are everywhere. tHanks for the video
They are also great for hanging small parts for spray painting.
@@ImpalamansGarage tHanks.....tHanks again
Great job on the early catch!
This one was bugging me big time!

@@bradalloway3232 0418 so they were about a year old when I had them installed in 2019. They only have about 25k miles on them.
I don't think they make 14in cooper tires anymore? Pierre made a video about, not to long ago.

@@ImpalamansGarage Make sure to check the tires build date, before you buy them.
