I lolled at work :)
My sister and I were there. After the award ceremony we watched the performances again on TV at the hotel room. We were so upset to find that not only did they NOT mention BTS barely at all, but they were showing the crowd more then them during their performance.
They later said that "women" stole the show for the night--calm down everyone I'm all about the girl power--but ANYONE who was there last night knows what happened. BTS without a doubt was the most powerful and influential artists in the whole building. People were chanting their names all day in line and all throughout the entire award show. Anytime they were shown on screen, or when they were mentioned, people would scream. You look at the Bilboard Instagram and it proves this. They have far more likes than anyone else. I am upset because they did not get the credit or respect the deserved last night on the TV version of the program.
Overall it was an amazing experience and I am so proud of BTS. They are not just another "boy band" as Kelly called them last night. We all know that they are powerful artists and a force to be reckoned with!

Like, I’m a full grown adult with a mortgage and I love them for their lyrics, great music, and social conscience way more than how pretty they are. No one seems to ever ask WHY they have such a huge following and why so many fans connect with them despite language differences. It’s like this weird effort to dilute the effect they’re having by relegating them to just a boy band. They’re artists. Amazing, talented artists. I hope that eventually becomes clearer, especially to the American media. Zach Sang should do all their interviews from now on, he totally gets it.
Hmm... I watched it on NBC via Sling, and I think the opposite happened for me. I guess it's a matter of perception, but throughout the broadcast, you could tell everyone was anticipating BTS.The screams brought tears to my eyes. Lol I don't think Kelly's remarks were in the sense of them being just another boy band, as she simply stated that they're the most popular boy band in the world. That's a huge accolade in and of itself. :-)
