Zelda Okey, this is just my opinion, but I would consider him a "real fan" even if he doesn't know all the names. You could see how happy and excited he was seeing them live and I think that says it all. He has shown so many times that he really cares about them and that says much more than the fact that he didn't take part in the fanchants. I have been a fan of bts for maybe a month (I listend to some of their songs before that, but it wasn't before a month ago I became a genuine fan) and I just recently learned their names. It takes time, and some people learn them faster then others. I also think it's a bit unfair of you to imply that he HAS to learn them. He can do whatever he wants. He doesn't HAVE to do anthing. As long as he knows their stage names then I think it's fine.
Zelda you don’t have to know the fan chant to be an ARMY. I’ve been a huge BTS fan for over a year now. I know their names but I still get the names mixed up while saying the fanchant. He has expressed his love and support for BTS for weeks now. He shows genuine feelings towards their music. A lot of ARMYs need to be more supportive and open in letting people into our fandom.
Zelda On top of all of that, look at how happy he is throughout the whole thing. I’m personally very happy he set the goal to make it there and he didn’t let us or himself down.

I was a non-ARMY until I saw the video for Mic Drop. It took me about 72 hours of constant BTS watching on TH-cam to become full-fledged ARMY. Now...They got me. I am 100% BTS fan. I know all the members names, their songs, their birthdays and I am currently trying to learn Korean and I have my trip to South Korea planned for 2022!!! Safe to say I'm OBSESSED!!!

This is insane because the AMA performance is what made me discover their music and the first time I watched it I distinctly remember seeing the cameras cut to you and realizing how lit the crowd was! Then I watched your reaction to Mic drop(without knowing you were in the audience) and you were also commenting on how lit the crowd at their shows are! Now you’re part of the crowd and chanting with them! I SEE WHAT BTS DOES TO PEOPLE NOW! THIS IS AMAZING
This is why I love ARMY Cali Army came and made BTS more comfortable on stage and not nervous :D. Notice when BTS came on stage the place was lit with both BTS and ARMY :DDDDD

I'm Asian and have been listening to KPop since 1997 (when it was H.O.T, S.E.S, G.O.D, Fin.K.L and so forth AND were only known by Asian people).
After 20 years of listening to KPop, I have not learned Korean. I dont need to learn Korean to appreciate their music. I guess it is nice to know what they're saying, but again, I dont need to learn Korean.
Here's a sad truth, the majority of the Koreans that I encounter discriminate towards me too, why? Because one, I am not Korean; two, I have tan skin.
Despite my experience with some Koreans, I welcome everyone to listen to Kpop.

The FANCHANTS! It's heard so clear here. While seeing them on TV I was quite afraid that they hadn't listening to the support the amazing US ARMY gave them but then they did Vapp live and I was so grateful and relieved and now I can actually hear it myself

One more thing, this whole “if you were a real army” thing has got to stop. It doesn’t phase me because I have been a fan for sometime and I’m not likely to be turned away. But the boys just introduced themselves to a whole lot of new people and we, as ARMY, cannot be the ones that turn them off of BTS because we think some fans are superior to others or because someone asks a question or makes a comment that you don’t think is right/appropriate.
There will be a lot of newbies and we should all treat them like new additions to a family and not like they are unwelcome intruders.

AsynC But I’m not tho? He literally set up a gofundme and opened a PayPal and asked his followers to donate so he could buy tickets. He said he already had $600 and Army’s gave him another $1000. So some Army’s called him out and he said he would donate the extra money to the Love Myself Campaign but where is that proof? Probably in the jacket he’s wearing or his girlfriends ticket that wasn’t supposed to be bought. I’m not doing anything but telling the truth and I hate how naive Army’s can be. Not everyone is nice and sweet just because they have an interest in BTS.

Welcome to your first taste of Kpop Nirvana!! There is nothing like the Kpop live experience....and you only got a little taste. I got my first full dose earlier this year when Shinee made a tour stop in Dallas....holy crap!!.....I'm a 53-year old Kpop fan and have been going to concerts since I was 16...I have seen some of the best tours of all time....yet nothing like a full blown Kpop concert. To see 12K Kpop fans together in one auditorium....not to mention 12K lightsticks......it is an ocean of color unlike you will ever see at any other type of concert. To have 12K fans that love and adore the group onstage all together at one time is actually quite emotional. That night in Dallas....you could feel the emotion in the air....it crackled like electricity....so much so, that the group themselves mentioned it. I think it is especially special to international fans because we get so few opportunities to see the Kpop groups we love do live shows. I remember when the lights finally came on....people were exhausted.....there were lots of tears running down lots of faces....it was almost spiritual. Here's to hoping BTS will make lots of stops in America on their 2018 world tour.
