Alright, this is my theory.
As a child, Shouta was scared of his mother because well, at first maybe he was crying because of a reason and maybe he didn’t wanted to disturb his mother and his father was at work, so that’s why he cried. Then when Shouta called his dad, his dad thought that Shouta’s mom made Shouta cry, so he rushed home and wanted to talk with his wife/Shouta’s mom. Then they had a huge fight and I think Shouta’s mom thought he cried on purpose so his husband/Shouta’s dad would love him more, so she started to hate her own son/Shouta. Then Shouta’s dad became very very, very over-protective around Shouta thinking that his wife/Shouta’s mother would abuse him. I don’t know why him/Shouta’s father gets weird and creepy because his memory is getting worse, but I think he’s scared that’ll he’ll just forget about Shouta, his son, and then his wife/Shouta’s mother will hit and abuse Shouta, so I honestly don’t know but this is my theory! -A huge fan :)
Edit: Though, I am pretty sure that Shouta’s father still loves Sayaka/Shouta’s mother. I found out what her name is, it’s a really pretty name!

When I finally got it I felt so bad. The dad has a mental disorder and the mom is crazy and believes that she’s entitled to the dad’s love to the point where she doesn’t care about Shouta. Then she forces them both to stay.
When the mom said “you’re never leaving me” I’m like Aizawa remember what she said and tell the judges
