Grizzly G0513A40 - 17" 2 HP Bandsaw - 40th Anniversary Edition Unboxing and Setup

After a year of contemplating and hesitation, I finally pulled the trigger on a new bandsaw. Originally I was holding out for a great deal on a Laguna 14/12 but this Grizzly G0513A40 - 17" 2 HP Bandsaw - 40th Anniversary Edition was too good of a deal and setup to pass up. In this video we go from unboxing and assembly to making our first cuts on the machine.

Would you buy it again? I also am torn between the Laguna and the Grizzly. I'll be resawing and resawing some cutting boards I make. Thanks for the video, cheers!

I like it a lot. I use it daily. I've never used the laguna but I feel like it would be hard to bear this saw. With that said it probably is nice to have the upgraded bearings and such.

How do you raise the Orange Upper Support?
What blade do you recommend for cutting large logs of firewood?

On the front of the machine is a handwheel that raises amd lowers the guard. There's a lock know on the right side you must loosen first and then retighten after setting the height. For logs you'll want a wide resaw blade with a low tooth count.

I was going to buy this saw until I watched the table alignment part. That made the saw look cheap. No way I’m going through this.
