After 55 years riding bikes, I now know that they are all special in some way. I cannot remember a bike that I didn't like. Your Honda selection is fabulous. I had a Blackbird when they first came out. That was awesome, as was one of the last Blackbirds before being discontinued. A 95 Urban Tiger Fireblade was a daily driver for a number of years, and numerous !000Fs before that. All I have now (at 72 ) is an 03 blue 954 Fireblade with 12k from new. Enjoy your machines, never part with any, and savour every moment.
@@riderzinc Brilliant choices. I found the Urban Tiger so easy about town. I sold the 954 recently, and unfortunately the new owner had it written off by an careless driver. Happy motoring and Happy New Year.
@@chrispritchard4676 i own a R1 ( 1st bike)(litre bike)(supersport) . 2nd bike is a BX 250 motard (supermoto, 2nd bike) , and a Svartpilen 401 ( 3rd bike, street bike)..
I really enjoy the 954, it gives amazing vibes with the history and the comfort behind it. It makes me happy to understand Baba the designer who made it is an amazingly nice guy and the bike shows it. It has designs even in the fenders, and the fairings even have a cut out to let air through and try to keep the front end planted as well with how the design was made to be ridden better in corners not straights. It has a purpose and an zing history. It’s better than the RC better than an h2 I would rather pay for a stock old bike that holds up to today rather than has speed that I will never use. This is a bike to keep and bring down the family line. The heart of a 954 will never die, they last forever.
@Michael Pullins The 954 was known to have issue with the engine case cracking on its own, even with low mileage and careful ownership. It has to do with Honda expanding the bore from the 900rr to the 929rr and then again for the 954rr, it left very thin walls between the cylinder wall and outer engine casing.
@@Mista_G many of the cracking were stunted, almost all of them are off the roads today. No, they were few and far between. The 900’s are known for their reliability.
I own a Suzuki bandit 600 and ZX6R , but after seeing the video u made of the 954, I started watching other videos on it and I found a friend that had a challenge with his own, and I decided to help fix it. I rode the bike, raced it with another z750 who thought because the 954 had a bit of challenge, I stand no chance. Then 954 blew my mind. Now, I own the 954... and I must confess, u planted it in me. Many thanks man...
@@ThaApEx17that's true man. And the thing is that after his videos I've been very inclined towards the 954 as my third bike. If I'll get it or not is a different story though but still
I lost my 2012 600RR in 2019 and have been disabled since. I had to sacrifice her to save myself - had a minivan pull out last second. She burned down to the ground, RIP. If you get rid of the 600RR, you'll be getting rid of a part of your soul. Do not get rid of a part of your soul. One day, I will get another 600RR when I can ride again! Until then, I continue to watch all your 600RR videos. ;)
I feel you. In 2004 I spent a month in hospital after a driver in a Nissan Altima decided to use my lane instead. Nobody else on the road, just decided to drive in my lane around a corner.
Sorry to hear that man, that sucks. I had a family friend on who rode sport bikes as long as I've known him and it ended up being his like $50,000 harley he got hit on, which I thought was a little ironic, everyone said the GSXR1000 he had was the "death machine". A van pulled out in front making a left turn from the street to right of him and he had no time to do anything and slammed into the driver side/front. It messed him up bad, destroyed his body, tons of broken bones and some brain damage. This happened when he was late 40s early 50s so he decided not to ride again cause his reaction times and memory are impaired. He drives his shelby cobra now instead lmao. I'll tell ya my mother was scared shitless and yelling at me when I bought my second bike cause its fast as hell. But hey you only get to live on this beautiful planet once and riding seasons are short here in Canada so I ride as much as I can!
Bad luck. I was taken out by a SUV last year. I was thrown from the bike but unharmed. Sadly the frame on my '98 VFR 800 was bent so it was written off. Get well!
954rr hands down, I owned a 2003 model. Best bike I've ridden. I have owned just about every make and model and there is just something about these 954's that rip all others. Great vid. Thumbs up.
The more videos I watched of this guy the more I like him, I especially like what he said this video about it is better to have 4 $5,000 bikes then to have one $20,000 bike. I could not agree more. This guy has got his head on her shoulders correctly
Love that I can hear the excitement in your voice man. Feels like a very genuine stream of consciousness without coming across as rambling. My dream garage is a vtec VFR800 and CBR600RR
I gotta say man, you're one of my favorite youtubers. Your taste for bikes is similar to mine. First bike was a 1989 Hawk GT. Love the Honda build quality. Second, huge fan of the 954 build! So much it inspired me to pick up a non running sv650, it's been so fun fixing it up Thanks for the quality and relatable content man
I totally agree with what you’re saying about the old compared to the new. Honda and Suzuki bikes in the early 2000’s were just gorgeous and haven’t been the same since.
Reignel Madarang I’ve had a cbr 600 a cbr 900 and I currently ride a blackbird, I’ve had Suzuki’s Yamahas and Kawasaki’s, love them all but my Honda’s have proven to be the better bikes for me!! My blackbird is my favorite and then the cbr 9!! 💯
@@cirosotomayor818 same, wanted a mt-07 so bad but picked up a 2003 vfr800 as first bike. I'll never sell it but may concider adding a fireblade later on 👍
Very cool review. Very good variety of motorcycles. I have owned a 2000 RC51 - SP1 and now I own a 2003 RC51 - SP2. I LOVE LOVE the RC51. It is a motorcycle that makes work at your riding and it rewards you for that hard work. It forces you to pay attention to posture, body positioning, vision, gearing, shifting, leaning, acceleration, braking.....all in all...the RC51's which were very track oriented are a bit uncomfortable to ride on the streets and are still a bit of a challenge even on the track. I also own a 2006 Zx10R. that bike is no problem. It does everything really well but...it is not as rewarding to ride as an RC51. Again, HeroRR - great collection of bikes. Thank you for sharing your perspective on them with us. Be well; stay safe.
Love your commentary Hero. I have an Rc51 that I hate riding thru town but canyon carving on Sundays are magical. In corners it is extremely stable and its power delivery allows me to get on the power out of corners sooner than I could on an inline 4. That allows me to stay with all these new monster horsepower superbikes except for high speed straights.
Enjoyed your video; very nicely done. I own an 01 and an 06 RVT 1000 (both purchased new). The stock 01 is a very demanding - requires your full attention - and is a blast to ride everywhere. I enjoy comparing the changes Honda made between the SP-1 & SP-2. The 06 with zero miles sits in my waiting room and is a joy to look at and will never be ridden. My advice to you, you can never own enough bikes. Keep em’ all.....cheers.
MY wife had the '08 600rr graffiti edition, and I've had the other three. All are exceptional choices. Now I'm down to my '03 SP-2 and '03 Blackbird. I thought I'd miss the '05 VFR, but nope. The Blackbird is everything the VFR was but turned up to 11. The ONLY thing I miss is the V4 sound through Remus full exhaust. That engine is music at full song.
I owned 2 blackbirds and 5 vfr s I never thought the bird was as agile in extreme corners . But both bikes were delicious to ride . I definitely had a lot more fun on vfr but always wanted about 30-40 more horsepower
As an RC51 owner myself.... You are 100% accurate with it. For what it is, it's a great machine, sounds mean AF with pipes and it's like a scalpel on the twisties... I still have mine, doesn't see too much street time any more, since it's such a handful... But I just can't bring myself to sell it for some reason.
I've had all the bikes in the video and a number of other liter bikes. When you add it all up, from the comfort, to the reliability, performance, and everything else, I have to say that a stock 954 is one of the best bikes ever made. That being said, a mildly modified 954 (full exh, PC, gutted airbox, revalved/spring front fork, etc.) is even better. It gains an aggressive edge and persona that elevates it to a new level, which is why I think it's the best sportbike money can buy. And yes, I've ridden the latest round of liter bikes and was unimpressed.
@@usbsol I upgraded the springs in both the front forks and rear shock. The front springs are notoriously soft and the upgrade gave me a ton more confidence going into corners. well worth the $$. I used a company called Shock Treatment in Sydney, they are top notch.
I had a RC 51 and absolutely loved riding up in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Up in the hills the torque was fantastic to have available. You can have a lot of fun without having to wring its neck all the time. I also had a NC30 at the same time. It was fantastic around town, but was arguably just as uncomfortable as the RC51. It felt like a paperweight compared to the RC51. It was also fun when you pushed the rpm needle past 8,000 rpm. Thanks for the video descriptions!
I had an RC51 and an NC35 (at the same time). Those bikes I can say are the best bikes I ever owned, and I miss them both. I've been bike-less for a few years now and I'm currently trying to get back in the saddle without ending up divorced... so I might manage one but not two... shame because I'd like to own another NC35, an RC51, a Blade, and maybe a 600RR. I'm definitely in trouble then...
Love this video, I got 929 fireblade a few years ago and and the vfr 800 was up there as my other option. Those early 2000 fire blades are so comfortable I can ride all day on mine with no problem
Wow, nice video, that's a Honda paradise ! Owner of a PC25 for 15 years now, still can't let it go ! My favorite bikes from this video would be 600 RR, and 954 !
A good selection of Honda motorcycles. Honda is my favorite motorcycle manufacturer. I own a Honda CBR1000RR SC59 myself. I always have to smile a little when I see videos from the United States showing super sports motorcycles with over 120 HP. Riding such potent and sporty motorcycles in a country where you can legally drive a maximum of 70 mph is a little ... um ... unusual. Here in Germany I can at least let off steam on the Autobahn if my fingers itch. In the United States, I would have been in prison for a long time for speeding.
Really...really loved this video. I owned a 2006 CBR600RR. Yes, the 2007-08 CBR600RR was the best ever. My favourite of the bunch is the RC-51. I tested one years ago..absolutely loved it..and it was in Colin Edwards' color. I rode the VFR too...along with the BlackBird. Both good bikes but it doesn't speak to me..y'know. I've not ridden the 954 before but I rode the CBR900RR...the first generation. That's another amazing bike. I can ride it all day. Absolutely loved it. I was offered to buy it but the guy wanted too much. It was in Camel Honda color. I still ride my 2006 CBR600RR...and yes, I commute on it..always the long way home. Damn..this lockdown.
HeroRR in the future no more rough roads when riding the RC please! It nearly threw me out of my chair watching the RC hitting those bumps. 🤣 I sure hope Honda does a great update to the 600RR for 2021. I wanted the new RR-R but Honda wants way too much money for it and it is very track focused. I have a 2019 Fireblade SP which is a great on the street. BTW I think you did a great job on the 954.
I have to agree with you Hero, I love my 954, going 16 yrs. strong!! You're right, there's no other feeling, I have rode newer bikes. It's not the same.
Do it I've got a cbr600rr, cbr1000rr, cb500x (comuter) and seriously considering a Daytona 675 (I'm even cashed up for one) I can't recommend a 'fleet' of bikes highly enough Riding as many different bikes as you can only helps your ability All the best with the collection and ride safe my friend
Great video. I know what you mean about not wanting to get rid of the 600RR. I have a 600F4i and it feels like part of me! I was looking at a CBR954 though which brought me to this video so I would say I'd pick that. Great content, keep up the good work. 🏴
Me too! I have a '01 F4i that I bought new which I will never sell. Truly, the bike is a extension of me. Through all the miles on the street and track, she's my baby.
Been watching you for a few years now. I have an 07 VFR 800 and 15 Grom. Currently looking for a clean RC51 sp2 to add to my stable. Thank you for always putting out the best Honda motorcycle content on TH-cam!
That VFR is gorgeous, but I got a super soft spot for that 954. I learned to ride on one. I just got a hold of a project CBR600F4. Gonna do the full rebuild from the ground up. First bike. Wish me luck.
I am a fireblade fan but I also love the vfr. I own a 91 vfr750 and a 2014 fireblade sp love both bikes but always wanted the rc51. The fact that you are a true rider and dont care about the newer bikes with more Bhp and abs and lift control and everything that takes away from the skill of a rider says a lot about a true bike enthusiast. Stay safe and rubber side down brother
very well made vid, I was considering a 2000 RC51, but may have to rethink that. With the 954RR, adding a steering damper makes a huge difference. I purchased one for my 929rr and this made a big transformation in reducing the twitchiness through the bars
Great review... Honda for life!!! Only thing is I'll would rather ride my RC51SP1 than my 05 Fireblade or even my 09 Fireblade, so for me RC all the way.
Great video.. great channel...👍🏼 First bike I ever rode was a CBR 400 NC23 I bought. Then got a 400 NC29... Now I have a 954 that I use as my daily commuter... And I second everything you say about it... What an amazing machine! Amazing power! And I can throw this bike into a corner with buckets of confidence. Love my 954 more & more every day!
I have the 03' RC51 and you are correct if you are not near curvy country roads or tracking where the 51 can breath, it's hard to justify. Your Honda collection is perfect and I'd never get rid of any of them.....great videos man!
Great video. I'm a summer rider here in the UK who is seriously thinking of getting a 2008 CBR600RR. I'm 52yrs old & my current bike I a 1997 ZX7R which I've owned for 15yrs now. I don't want a litre bike (not necessary for the road imo) & I could do with something smaller & lighter to manoeuvre into my small garage, plus the 7R puts strain on my wrists with the low clip ons, so the CBR 600 seems a good solution for me.
Love the channel. Love the content. Keep up the good work. Im sure your audience are mostly Honda fanboys myself included. They are just great bikes. My fav amongst your fleet is the 600RR.
Dude, at 22.30 you said it. There is something so special about early mid 2k bikes. All of them. The feel, the smell, the overall experience. In my opinion it was the golden age of sport/super/hyper bikes. I actually went BACK to a gen1 Hayabusa because the newest offering from book or kawi didn't offer me the "essence of riding", and I wanted to go 200+ if I'm being totally transparent. In my opinion, its the last time bikes were....raw.Which u said as I was typing this, lol. No nanny aids, limited electronics, hell not even ABS yet(except the VFR, lol oh Honda) It was an era when the bike was still the boss, and commanded respect. Don't get me wrong, all the tech nowadays keeps people alive, but in many instances, the experience has become numb. Also, I could not agree more about Honda, especially since my Busa's bunkmate in my garage is an 04 VTEC Viffer. Only mods being Leo Vince sbk exhaust, cuz a V4 is hands down the greatest sound ever, and full galfer lines. Quite possibly the greatest do every damn thing really well while sounding better than most bike I ever owned. I will not sell it. I do 500mi days and have NEVER felt anything, other than joy, when getting off it at my destination. So after fanboying ur video I need to ask u a serious question due to ur very specific to my situation experience, I want a third in the stable. I have very carefully narrowed it down to 3. A 954, an rc51 or a TL1000R. Given that I have a VTEC VFR and a first gen Busa, where would you go? I got the rocket ship and the commercial airliner...what makes it the trifecta? thanks for ur vid, it was awesome. Ride safe!
The Vtr1000 it good up till 100 launches well but the pull from there is good but the 06 Cbr1000rr is terrifying a crazy seems like it just waking up feel like the works ending! Not to fun at lower speed the VTR1000 sound so sweet too miss it a little RIP
Great Vid Herorr, since I’m into Honda cycles myself. I currently own a 05 RC51 & 99 CBR1100xx. I sold my 07 VFR 800 last year in favor of the Blackbird because it’s every bit as comfortable as the VFR, more power & torque, and you just don’t see them around. The B.B. really isn’t much heavier than your VFR, and Is considered a sports tourer also. So add a Blackbird to your stable, and you’ll be glad that you did. I need a 954 but haven’t come across anything worthwhile yet. I too would rather have several used bikes than just one brand new one. Peace
I have a 5th gen, 1998 VFR800 right now. I think my next bike is gonna have to be either some sort of 600 supersport or a 954rr... absolutely love the vfr800 though, always an absolute blast to ride. and the V4 sounds incredible with the gear driven cams and the delkevic exhaust I have.
When you mentioned wanting to have several cheaper bikes instead of one $20k bike I can absolutely relate to that. I love having a variety of bikes to choose from. I’ve got a zx14, a goldwing, a crf450, I had a magna vf500 and a cbr600.. all the different bikes have their own sound and their own personality.
Pretty decent video, I enjoyed seeing someone else's opinion about 3 of the bikes I've put many miles on. Since I live in an area that abounds with canyon and mountain roads, my only bike has been the RC51 for the last 10 years and 50,000 miles. Rode my VFR on a road trip to LA, damn near got blown off I-5 on the way back. Too light for a touring bike. And although older than yours, I first rode a cbr600 f2 as an introduction to sport bikes. What a great bike to start off with.
I think what you were trying to say was The 07-08 rebuilt generation of the cbr600rr made it the highest power to weight ratio bike Honda has produced to this day That's why I own the '07 Totally agree, they are the most beautiful beast of all the 600rr This virus thing has delayed the '07 cbr1000rr ive just bought being delivered from Melbourne, can't wait Great review, live well, ride safe and be happy my friend
the sp2 puts 145 wheel hp. I ride a cbr 600 f3 have had it since 03 love it. im 67 and ride it down to blue ridge whenever i can I rode a vvt vfr 800 for 120 miles it had an elf single side swingarm, seemed kind of clunky Im not crazy about v-4 harmonics reminds me of my old panhead to much vibration. the honda 4 cylinder is very smooth. Great video. Thank's for posting, new subscriber. Stuck in nhrthrn Indiana, for another month.
RC51. Is so unique. So powerful. So rare. It will never be made again. The engine sound with its geared cams puts a smile on your face and has crazy torque. The only negative is it's weight. A must for collectors.
I've owned a CBR '08 600RR for about four years now and I've ridden the utter crap out of my bike, growing ever more confident each day, especially considering how light the bike feels. I can honestly say it's a fun piece of machinery and it has never let me down. I've serviced it once a year with the only real consumable I notice being rubber. The biggest problem I've faced is having to circumvent the kickstand sensor which gave out (minding that I bought it second hand with around 60 000 Km on the clock) and honestly it just keeps going. The bike is on 116 000 km now and it just keeps begging for more. This bike has made me a genuine Honda fanboy.
The 954 is an amazing motorcycle let alone sport bike. My first street bike was a Honda shadow ace. Followed by a 2003 954 rr. I’ve had a 2014 zx10r and currently have a 2015 rsv4 and I can honestly say that other than the crazy top speed of the latter bikes the 954 has a character that they lack, even the Aprilia. Amazing bike. As far as can you track it... I would say yes. You know if it’s sound. I have seen countless guys throw their bike into the sand hard at a track day, tape, zip tie it back together, and track it hard for the rest of the weekend. Not to mention the overall condition of some of the bikes these guys reliably track week after month after year. Regardless, awesome collection. Ride safe!!
I had an 08 as well p5, ported head, 2brother juice boost, sprocket change +520 kit, full exhaust but put toce slip-on custom tune only thing I didn't understand was Honda is super reliable but never increase power.. But handling/ reliability 2nd to none should have kept mine I sold it bought an r1
I am an old man compared to you, and i ride a Honda ST 1100. I like big engine bikes and have had many bikes over the years. To answer your question though, i think i would pick 2 out of the 4 and go with the VFR 800 and the 954 Blade for sure. The power of the Fireblade has got to be a blast to ride, and because of your channel, i searched for some, and found 2 for sale , so, you never know ! Stay safe, keep up the good work.
My goal is to have a lineup like yours within a year or 2. Thank you for the videos. I gotta say I love all your bikes. But something about that 954 gets me every time
i just got my first ever bike and it's an '05 Honda CBR600RR and i love it! i love everything about it and can't see myself ever selling it. it'll always be my 'first love' lol... ALL my 'firsts' are on this bike...it's not stock either it's got some upgrades and an ECU tune...it's FAST and handles like a pin!
Nice video and summary. If you put so much work into the 954 keep it man. It goes and looks so nice. Just double check things if you feel unsure. Love all your bikes. Completely agree with you. One can get an amazing machine in great condition for little money. Same thing here in Sweden. I love my VFR 800 from 2003.So sure footed. I love my Yamaha Fazer 600 from 2000.Goes like hell. Still have my old FJ1200. Over 100km but always reliable. Love my original Kawasaki GT550 from 1983 which I completely rebuilt and will never sell. Would love a 954 one day. Ride safe!
I've owned several bikes almost exclusively HONDA and the only bike I have now is my RC51 - I would disagree about being a great street bike but that depends on what you're riding for and I love the precision and torque of this bike. I have the means to own any bike I want but the character of this bike alone makes it my personal favorite.
I have a Superhawk 995 and the VFR800, both amazing bikes, Honda really did a great job with both. I have a 1000RR on my list for the next one! Cool vid, thanks for sharing.
I have an 05 1krr, coming from a carby blackbird! It was a big upgrade. Enough power to be mad on the streets and just modern enough to be a monster in the twisty department as well.
Been riding Gold-wings since 2000 had a 25 th anniversary and also bought a brand new special edition 40 th anniversary, before that i had a V45 since the 90s and now just bought a VFR 800 2014 that i haven't tried yet since it winter, it gives me time to put it apart and inspect everything and see how it ticks, the bike i would like to try is the 600RR since the power weight ratio looks interesting, i don't think i will ever own one since the plates here in Quebec for a sport bike are 1400$ for 3 months of nice weather. Great work on your videos i am going throw them one by one especially loved the VFR complete life span it what made me chose to buy my VFR has my next bike. Thank You and i am also a Honda freak on all my vehicles.
Love my VFR vtec even more every time I ride it. Awesome, extreme comfort and right power. I'm complitely agree with what you said. Only a little problem, now (38.500 KM), She makes an annoying ticking, probably chain tensioners. I took she to a mechanic, he told me that it could be to adjust the valve timing and check the seals. He told me I could spend up to 1000-1500 Eur
I own 2 RC51's, an 01 and an 06, I have had the suspension tuned for my weight and it made all the difference when I got back on the bike..It was softer because I am not a big guy and it was what the doctor ordered. They are Race Bikes and once you remember that the rest doesn't matter. The Riding position is purposeful and the bike is amazing at speed!!! btw, I also have riden the CBR's and they are great bikes and yes, they are fast!! My Buddy just refurbished an Erion 929R and it rips...very fast bike. Take it to redline and you better get on that tank and hold on!!!
I've got an '84 CB700s and want every one of these bikes as my next bike. Love your channel, looking forward to the verdict, I'm leaning towards a VFR800
HeroRR, in all fairness you could buy a 954 which someone has done what you have, but has had crash damaged in the past which may not be present on the surface but may fail on the track so I wouldn't let that put you off at all... P.s that classic whine when you start going through the higher revs...oof I love old bikes for that! My 02' (51 plate) zzr600 does the same thing 👌
Hero, I knew you had these bikes from watching your videos, but never thought you had all 4 in the stable at one time. I'm guessing the "dream house" should have a 4 bike garage? Almost lost my mind at the intro!🤯. Love the comparison video! Always great content. I'm partial to the 600rr. I own a 2007, which ironically looks identical to yours, with the Corbin seat and exhaust, but not the red (or stock matte grey) middle cowl. P.O. must have been a Hero fan?🤔Awesome bike! Super fun! I'll admit I'm a older rider and I think it's the most comfortable supersport. I did a lot of research before I bought it. Honda quality, reliability, performance and looks sold me. The bike is nimble and blast to ride. As a kid I always wanted a VFR 750 interceptor. I had a RC51 pull up beside once, the sound of it accelerating is still stuck in my head. My vote would be to keep the 954, but I totally understand your dilemma. It would a bit of a gamble to sell the bike, unless you found the perfect replacement first. Maybe a 9th generation? If you pull that exchange off you would truly take the "Hero" moniker to another level in my mind🤯🤯🤯🤯!!
I completely agree with older bikes, don't get me wrong modern super sports are great but are basically one trick ponys apart from the really expensive stuff they all feel the same. Older bikes have more character as companies were willing to take risks more risks, I also have 4 bikes: 1988 FZR400 1992 FZR1000 1996 RF600 2000 VFR800 They all have their plus points but the VFR gets ridden the most. Out of your bikes Id choose VFR or the 954. Stay safe
pretty much my dream Honda line up. I've ridden the 600RR, 954, and RC51 (I owned a TL1000R). Always wanted an Interceptor. Sadly injury keeps me from rear set pegs so I putter around on a CTX700 DCT these days and really like the little cruiser.
I know it's a year old video I'm new to the sport bike scene being in the market for my first definitely going 2nd hand so I appreciate videos with actual honest owner/rider comparison and opinion, I do understand your feelings on your 954 I have rebuilt several crashed muscle cars through the years and always had that "it's not 100%" conversation in my head as well, but thanks for the video, good info I need I'll stay tuned.
954RR guy here.Drop the front end down ONE inch to tame the wheelie-light front end.Made a huge improvement along with damper and steering tapered roller bearings.
HeroRR, doesn’t care about specs or what’s on top, just what puts a smile on his face the most. Respect
One of THE best HONDA reviewers on YT w/ out a doubt.
I've owned 600s and 900s. My VFR800 KILLS...
At 72 you’re riding a 954? You’re my hero! I love my 954 too.
I actually own 2 bikes, one is a 94 urban tiger and the other is a 03 954 in blue
@@riderzinc Brilliant choices. I found the Urban Tiger so easy about town. I sold the 954 recently, and unfortunately the new owner had it written off by an careless driver. Happy motoring and Happy New Year.
That’s sad 😢
@@chrispritchard4676 i own a R1 ( 1st bike)(litre bike)(supersport) .
2nd bike is a BX 250 motard (supermoto, 2nd bike) ,
and a Svartpilen 401 ( 3rd bike, street bike)..
Well said!!
Unless of course the engine block cracks and coolant comes spewing out.
How is 04-07 cbr1000rr compared with 954?
@@Mista_G many of the cracking were stunted, almost all of them are off the roads today. No, they were few and far between. The 900’s are known for their reliability.
I own a Suzuki bandit 600 and ZX6R , but after seeing the video u made of the 954, I started watching other videos on it and I found a friend that had a challenge with his own, and I decided to help fix it. I rode the bike, raced it with another z750 who thought because the 954 had a bit of challenge, I stand no chance. Then 954 blew my mind. Now, I own the 954... and I must confess, u planted it in me. Many thanks man...
this is amazing
@@ThaApEx17that's true man. And the thing is that after his videos I've been very inclined towards the 954 as my third bike. If I'll get it or not is a different story though but still
I lost my 2012 600RR in 2019 and have been disabled since. I had to sacrifice her to save myself - had a minivan pull out last second. She burned down to the ground, RIP.
If you get rid of the 600RR, you'll be getting rid of a part of your soul. Do not get rid of a part of your soul.
One day, I will get another 600RR when I can ride again! Until then, I continue to watch all your 600RR videos. ;)
Agreed. I think I'll keep mine. Even tho it's just a 600 I like it a lot. I'm beginner and this bike is really user friendly 😀
Get well!
Can't believe how well that VFR's design has held up.
It’s a little bug eyed like the rc51, but I love mine
954rr hands down, I owned a 2003 model. Best bike I've ridden. I have owned just about every make and model and there is just something about these 954's that rip all others. Great vid. Thumbs up.
Klonky gearbox
The more videos I watched of this guy the more I like him, I especially like what he said this video about it is better to have 4 $5,000 bikes then to have one $20,000 bike. I could not agree more. This guy has got his head on her shoulders correctly
"got his head on her shoulders" thems fightng words.
Love the 954RR, but that's probably because I've owned one for the last 17 years.
Best 17 years of your life.
Next month I'll have had mine for 20 years. Bought it brand new in May '02. Haven't even sat on it for about 4 years. That might change this summer.
I’ve owned my 03 954RR for about seven years now with no plans of ever selling it. I was lucky enough to get a pristine example as well.
So much it inspired me to pick up a non running sv650, it's been so fun fixing it up
Thanks for the quality and relatable content man
Bro 954 all the way. Plus you brought it back to life with your own hands. Which were awesome video's 👍 Keep it .
I totally agree with what you’re saying about the old compared to the new. Honda and Suzuki bikes in the early 2000’s were just gorgeous and haven’t been the same since.
Difference being.... They were built to last not to a budget like these days mate 👍
K7 - K8 were definitely the prettiest though
Analconda i guess it comes down to personal preference. I’m currently rebuilding a k8 but I’m more into the 2001-2003 gen. To each there own 🤙
Honda really proven itself as reliable fun and functional
Reignel Madarang I’ve had a cbr 600 a cbr 900 and I currently ride a blackbird, I’ve had Suzuki’s Yamahas and Kawasaki’s, love them all but my Honda’s have proven to be the better bikes for me!! My blackbird is my favorite and then the cbr 9!! 💯
@@tonykennedy5183 Honda's just have that kind of character that is really addicting
I bought a VFR thanks to this channel. And yes I love my bike.
Max Gemmill Got my 99 VFR last year, mint and stock condition. I paid 1900, felt like a steal
I was about to buy mt07 til I saw the video about best beginner bikes and saw the vfr love it. So first bike ever vifer
@@cirosotomayor818 same, wanted a mt-07 so bad but picked up a 2003 vfr800 as first bike. I'll never sell it but may concider adding a fireblade later on 👍
I've been watching you for years and so glad to finally see all your bikes together like this. What a journey it has been!
I like the V motored bikes, the VFR & the RC51. I don't think I'd ever get tired of hearing them roar.
@@mattdrinkwine1936 6mm spacer on the rear strut of the Blackbird completely transformed the corner turn-in. Look into it if you still have one.
The VFR is my favorite no doubt!! Great vid bud stay safe
Just upgrade that suspension like I did to my 2007 and they are a fantastic bike
Just wait'll v-tec kicks in.
@@Mike-cz9nw what did you upgrade to?
usbsol replaced front fork and rear shock springs. The front is notoriously soft. Made a huge difference and well worth the $$$$
@@usbsol I upgraded the springs in both the front forks and rear shock.
I really love your channel man, you're so passionate about these machines.
Honda and their gear driven cams.. Never get tired of that sound!
Ran a 900rr daily for 12 years.Didnt even touch the valves. It just never gave up....til I handed it over to junior. Now its in the boneyard!
One of your fireblade videos was one of the reasons why I bought one. I do not regret it. great motorcycle👍🖐
I have to agree with you Hero, I love my 954, going 16 yrs. strong!! You're right, there's no other feeling, I have rode newer bikes. It's not the same.
You inspired me to start collecting bikes.
I love it!
Do it
I've got a cbr600rr, cbr1000rr, cb500x (comuter) and seriously considering a Daytona 675 (I'm even cashed up for one)
I can't recommend a 'fleet' of bikes highly enough
Riding as many different bikes as you can only helps your ability
All the best with the collection and ride safe my friend
Great video. I know what you mean about not wanting to get rid of the 600RR. I have a 600F4i and it feels like part of me! I was looking at a CBR954 though which brought me to this video so I would say I'd pick that. Great content, keep up the good work. 🏴
Me too! I have a '01 F4i that I bought new which I will never sell. Truly, the bike is a extension of me. Through all the miles on the street and track, she's my baby.
954.. dream bike for me and i don't even know why. It's just something about the bike i can't explain. Honda is a legend and it shows!!
What a tease I thought this vid was available, still man got good taste!!
After 10 years on 1999 CBR600F I just bought 2003 954RR, so smoooth, all the goodies, can't go back :)
Thank you for bringing one back from the brink and letting us see the process.
very well made vid, I was considering a 2000 RC51, but may have to rethink that. With the 954RR, adding a steering damper makes a huge difference. I purchased one for my 929rr and this made a big transformation in reducing the twitchiness through the bars
Cool, I’m getting a GPR stabilizer for my 954.
I get your love of the 600RR. For me it is a different model but most bikes are part of your garage, a special one is part of your estate.
954 FTW!
Honorable mention: RC-51 lol
agreed
RC-51. Best bike BY FAR that I’ve ever owned and always will be😆
Good selection of bikes honda was at there A game with the 954 and love the look of cbr600r 👍🏿👍🏿
Great review... Honda for life!!! Only thing is I'll would rather ride my RC51SP1 than my 05 Fireblade or even my 09 Fireblade, so for me RC all the way.
Love all of them, but I would go with VFR.
Great video.. great channel...👍🏼
First bike I ever rode was a CBR 400 NC23 I bought.
Then got a 400 NC29...
Now I have a 954 that I use as my daily commuter...
And I second everything you say about it...
What an amazing machine!
Amazing power! And I can throw this bike into a corner with buckets of confidence.
Love my 954 more & more every day!
I went nc23, nc29, vfr400 nc30, 05 r6 then just bought a 954 in october, The 954 is an amazing machine, feels like a 600 but with more power/torque
Awww come on I gotta see the 954 more...
@Charles Williams Jr yessir
Ride safe!
VTR for the win all the time :D :D love it, never get bored to hear that rumbling and popping sound of my Firestorm :3
The Vtr1000 it good up till 100 launches well but the pull from there is good but the 06 Cbr1000rr is terrifying a crazy seems like it just waking up feel like the works ending! Not to fun at lower speed the VTR1000 sound so sweet too miss it a little RIP
I'm so happy you made this video. A lot of what you said is how I feel about my 5 bikes.
Damn man...Awesome line up on Bikes...Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for taking the time to make this review, very informative
There was a recall for the wiring harness on the VFR. I have almost 40k on mine and never any problems
Yep, the VFR did, CBR never had a recall though :)
Rode my VFR on a road trip to LA, damn near got blown off I-5
on the way back. Too light for a touring bike. And although older than yours, I first rode a cbr600 f2 as an introduction to sport bikes. What a great bike to start off with.
I think what you were trying to say was
The 07-08 rebuilt generation of the cbr600rr made it the highest power to weight ratio bike Honda has produced to this day
That's why I own the '07
Totally agree, they are the most beautiful beast of all the 600rr
This virus thing has delayed the '07 cbr1000rr ive just bought being delivered from Melbourne, can't wait
Great review, live well, ride safe and be happy my friend
Your videos are officially my favorite on TH-cam
the sp2 puts 145 wheel hp.
Man, I wish I could find a GSX-R 600 fan boy that put out quality content like this.
Disclaimer: no honda fanboys appearing in this video
RC51. Is so unique. So powerful. So rare. It will never be made again. The engine sound with its geared cams puts a smile on your face and has crazy torque. The only negative is it's weight. A must for collectors.
I own 07' 600rr. It's the so balanced and light. Engine midrange is strong!
I bought a 929RR and I'm in love! Keep rocking, amazing videos!
Thank you! The 954 is an amazing bike. Possibly the best one in the lineup.
I own an RC51 SP1 and have never looked back. Easiest the best sounding and looking bike of the lot.
CBR600 &954 is what a cycle must do to win the hearts
and HONDA stands out never let you down regarding innovations
Awesome collection!! I always loved the 954 throughout the years!! The 954 is the best!
Ride safe!
I wish they still made that kit to turn the VFR800 into a super sport.
all of those bikes can go in a straight line doing 50. great insight. thanks.
"This is my VFR800 I ride Ever Day" BINGO!!!!
I just bought a 2008 CBR600RR, I'd like to try a 954
The best lineup 👌
You are my hero
Allerapap do not believe the mileage u have on the “dash” your bike could have done double of that
I own 2 RC51's, an 01 and an 06, I have had the suspension tuned for my weight and it made all the difference when I got back on the bike..It was softer because I am not a big guy and it was what the doctor ordered.
Older bikes have more character as companies were willing to take risks more risks, I also have 4 bikes:
1988 FZR400
1992 FZR1000
1996 RF600
2000 VFR800
They all have their plus points but the VFR gets ridden the most.
Just picked up a 2003 RC51, one owner, 26000 miles, and well taken care of.
AND heavy duty fork springs WITH heaviest oil.
