Pretty ideas, but a lamp should be higher to where the lighting from the lamp is shining down onto your book, not your hand on the sofa.
And too much on a side table leaves no room for a beverage and/or snack. Less is more, especially for small tables.

Just to let you know cream colors and grey are totally in right now. They match perfectly. U can do a grey sofa and a cream colored rug to match the walls. Put a pop of color with your sofa pillows and find a picture with the same color to hang over your sofa.
