- Built the lower chassis so I can quickly see if mounting a gearbox can be possible. So far the results look promising with several options available.

Loving the progress, it just gets easier every time you put something together from scratch!
Thanks
Good to see an Aussie truck build. Lesu have the Best 1/14 suspension and parts. Love your work Steve!!
love watching these things get modified cant wait for next episode
Thanks mate!
Awesome Work! Thank you for sharing.... I shared this to a few Facebook Groups for RC Big Rigs...
Oh sweet, thanks bro
Lots of thinking on this project, gonna be awesome!
Most definitely Stevo
Skills bro! Love the custom stuff you're doing so please keep it up👌
Much appreciated bro
Awesome
Custom RC. I love this..
Hello I from indonesian.
Kota mana bro..??
Hayuk kumpul
Great as always Steve. Thanks.
Thanks Robert, much appreciated
awesome awesome work
Thank you so much 😀
Nice video, i like ❤️
What an awesome way to step up the toyan conversion! The TH-camrs doing this will have to be super creative too top this one!👍👍
Thanks mate. Appreciate your comment and thank you for watching
Unfortunately, with the powerband of the 4 stroke engine being so limited, you are going to need 2 speeds. Otherwise, if you gear up for speed, it will bog and burn thru clutches. And if you gear for a proper 1st, it will run outta motor speed real quick. But that's just what I think. A Tamiya 2 or 3speed from a bruiser would be better, but idk. U have already successfully made one of these work, so you know more than us bud. But we do appreciate the videos, cause it gives us a headstart when we want to do our own. So thank you!!! Johnny Q is the OG, and you are the OG of making it work in an R/C.
Much appreciated bro! Definitely try some different gear ratios. The Tamiya three speed is pretty big and it would be hard to adapt the brake on the output shaft.
This is awesome 👍 gonna be so cool Steve great job
Cheers bro
that is looking sweet already, great stuff
Thanks 👍
nice job
If it's RC related you will never bore me sir, Very Cool so far.
Thanks bro. Thanks for always watching and commenting
Great update 👍🏻
Cheers mate
Great video on the stirling kit gear box brother! I wanted to see the size and components, just trowing it out there but if you had the room you could use the buggy 2 speed spurs with your 2 speed clutch bell. awesome frankenstein build on your brake set up also!
Thanks Dennis! Seems like a decent bit of kit. The single speed might be fine for this application. Now just trying to get everything to work together and play nicely, haha
Good
MORE INTERESTING
Iv seen on aliexpress they do a mount plate for the motor
I like
I would use that reverse box behind the 3-speed box that already came with the truck.
Very hard to make it fit and there is no reverse unfortunately
Hey buddy
I have a question about a x Maxx 8s
Iv noticed some people hit the break and are able to go again without coming to a complete stop
Mine if I hit the break it waits till it comes to a complete stop or almost complete stop before I’m able to go forward again
Not sure what will happen if I hit a jump and hit the break to level out yet
Got one of my Emaxx gearboxes from JennysRC a while back! Cool work buddy, still not sure about a nitro powered hauler but hey still looking forward to see you make it go matey!😁👍
Much appreciated mate
The semi truck was meant to carry load, and move slow not fast. Myself and others don’t even change gears when working them we just use one gear all day. We wonder sometimes on even keeping the Tamiya transmission, or getting a single speed. But in a gas conversion I would think the more gears the better. Should sound really nice when shifting gears. Or make a racing truck and go fast.
Great video, where can you buy the COMPLETE TRAXXAS REVO 3.3 TRANSMISSION?
Have to buy it online. Ebay usually has them available.
I have a question. will this gearbox ( 4:45 ) be able to change gear from neutral to forward and then reverse while engine running?
or I have to slow down the engine to switch gear?
You can change into reverse when moving but would cause damage.
I know I'm watching this in the future of original post but I thought of doing this too
Cheers man
How does it shift from one gear to another?
👌
hi, the gearbox c12015184 where to buy? may i get the link please
I would like to see a video with the Gasoline version (FS-S100G) - setting the ignition timing. We've all see tons of nitro (aka methanol engines). A 4 stroke single cylinder gasoline engine would be a nice change.
Hi, another awesome video👌. Can we fit the FS-l400 Toyan engine into this truck ?
Hmm would be a tight fit
@@RCTanksTrucks247 Thanks
Use both transmissions... 3 speed plus reverse and brakes. Be tight but it will work
I managed to get one to work. It's in part 3
i need the whole thing
I think the truck cab is going to dictate using the small gearbox with reverse and being able to get it low in the frame will keep the driveshaft from binding. You also might be able to mount the brake servo under the engine.
Yeah that's what I was thinking mate. Appreciate the comment and thank you for watching
If u have to use the rubber band to make that trans work
Can it be mounted upside down?
Yeah you could
Yeah the Revo transmission has to go with the V4 engine. Adding the brake to the forward - reverse one is brilliant! Looks like it was just made for it.
Thanks man. The V4 would sound cool ay
@@RCTanksTrucks247 oh yeah it would sound great while shifting gear. Looking forward.
Is there any tatra rc model truck with detailed chassis on the market?
Not sure
Salut
Nice video I am 15 year old I make a chassi but novice ıron chassi
lol if I had a lathe and a mill I'd just make you a bespoke transmission for the thing. 3-speed forward, 1 reverse, park, neutral. Tiny little replica of a TH350 automatic, complete with torque converter where the clutch normally sat.
Yeah man, love to get one eventually
In regards to suspension, there are upgrades to give you better articulation...
Thanks man
Show
How much your engine sir?
You could just run a sleeve with grub screws from the engine to that transmission 👍
Spins way too fast
Needs a clutch tho
You really have got the bug for fabricating now. so far it sound's and look's like it could work.
You could do with making a brake rotor guide to mount opposite to the pads, like the LOSI 5ive-T system runs to stop the rotor from wobbling and possibly popping off.
Thanks bro and cheers for the tip
lets find that 1 dislike guy sooo cool that small motor you are the man
Haha
I want to try this with a traxxas TRX-4
Very limited in space but you could do it.
@@RCTanksTrucks247 I was thinking since I've already got a good radio system that the TRX4 sport kit would be an easy and reliable conversion by replacing the stock gear box with the revo gear box (if it fits)
Steve; can you build me one of these rigs? Lol...just kidding
Haha
Noticed that there was a cross member in the chassis witch looks like it was going to in the way of the drive shaft be careful
Yeah that can easily be moved
Kevin talbot needs your help he's trying to figure out how to swap the fly wheel for the silver one
I spoke to him. Sometime it is just super tight. There is no thread on the shaft.
@@RCTanksTrucks247 he just needs to give it a good wack lol
How about making your own chassis out of metal and make it as realistic to a lorry chassis as possible
Pretty big job. Would be fun tho
Don't suppose you could PM Kevin Talbot, let him know how to remove the flywheel and install the gearbox? He's struggling.
Just commented on his latest video 👍
Or install turbo inside the Truck.
You love your turbos
No "rubber band" drive, it will only slip !
Yeah I thought the same thing
It's not chazy it's chasey
Hahaha
WTF are Chassey rails... too much American TV as a kids.
Lol
