I came from poverty and no one in my neighborhood wouldn’t give their last dollar to help someone but now that I have money and hang out people who have money and grew up with privilege the amount of disconnect is depressing sometimes. People really just turn a blind eye to the pain in this world. It's most commonly the poor and homeless themselves who are the ones to help. And having been on the streets myself I can attest to the validity of that. Sad to say but some times, often times those who have been through it are the only ones who are willing to do something about it. I first noticed this trend a while back working in hospitality - poorer folks are generous whilst richer ones are stingy. My hypothesis - western capitalism enriches the selfish and exploits the honest and altruistic. This video like everything I've witnessed supports this. That woman reminded me of what Jesus said, very heart touching. While others who have much, oftentimes don't give at all. Lives can change in an instant and any of us can become needy. I've been there before in my life and I know many others who have also been there. Even still, I help anytime that I am able to. It's most commonly the poor and homeless themselves who are the ones to help. And having been on the streets myself I can attest to the validity of that. Sad to say but some times, often times those who have been through it are the only ones who are willing to do something about it. Thank you for the inspiration as my partner and I are trying to come up with a plan for giving back as we are both recovering addicts and grateful servants of God. Says a lot about people. In general, the more successful they are, the less compassion they have.

I first noticed this trend a while back working in hospitality - poorer folks are generous whilst richer ones are stingy. My hypothesis - western capitalism enriches the selfish and exploits the honest and altruistic. This video like everything I've witnessed supports this. I'm happy that our shitty societies are falling to bits - things need to change.

But, sometimes people are homeless and hungry through no fault of their own. Maybe it was a job loss, a death, sickness, a fire or tornado. Just because you give to someone, doesn't mean you expect a payday. I just think his eyes were opened to the fact that those who had little or nothing were the ones who gave the most, while seeing the heartless attitudes of those who do have, turn a cold shoulder like he use to. At least that's what I choose to believe he meant.
The way I see it is from their position. It's not about any of that. It's about knowing how bad things can get and knowing what you don't really need. Mr Raya, if you have the means, keep stuff on hand in your car. A fresh pair of socks means so much. Gloves, water, shirts, toothbrushes, jackets, and really all the stuff you take for granted makes a guy feel like a real human. A fresh outfit makes someone feel like $1,000,000.

I love these types of videos honestly. This shows what kind of people are out there. And that people who need help themselves are willing to help someone else. As opposed to people with money who treat people like shit. Well guess what, the ones who helped got blessed and will continue to be blessed. Thanks for the videos. It's truly awesome knowing that there are still great people in this world. It's amazing that more often than not, those who don't have much to give, often give. While others who have much, oftentimes don't give at all. Lives can change in an instant and any of us can become needy. I've been there before in my life and I know many others who have also been there. Even still, I help anytime that I am able to. I wish more people would step up to the plate and be more proactive in their communities. The world would be a much better place.
And to the TopNotch Gang (and their patrons) thank you for your honest generosity. And for the videos. It shows the contrast of the world we live in and the enormous need in our country (and beyond).
