    Hello, suppose a part of a property is within Flood Zone. But, the other portion of the property is not in Flood Zone, meaning it's above the BFE. Would a house that's not in the flood zone still be required (by a lender, for instance) to have flood insurance?

      Yes, in many situations it would until a letter of Emaan. It was completed showing that the structure was above the base flood elevation. Typically this is done by getting an elevation certificate and going through the process with the federal government. I actually did this on my own property more than 12 years ago and I've been helping property owners do the same thing ever since Typically takes the federal government about 30 to 60 days to approve it.
