I appreciate that you noise-normalize your videos. The saw is obviously louder than your voice, but you took the minimal effort to reduce the volume during the loud parts for us. Viewers like hearing the machinery, but we don't like them damaging our speakers or eardrums. Not a lot of people making YT videos consider that, especially Auto channels. They'll talk 8 feet away from the mic, you crank the volume just to hear half the things they say. Then out of the blue they fire up their air ratchet or impact seemingly right next to the mic, and just like that, you're deaf.
Another excellent video for two in a row! The background audio was perfect (none) and the narration NON sel-depricating. This video is model for future vids... You done GREAT....
Really enjoyed the video. Especially the differences between cant/cain't and naked/nekkid. I will use the nekkid definition at some point in the future. :)
Just a friendly suggestion, i bought the automatic water system for my LM29 and it is worth every penny. Especially in the winter in Canada using windshield wash fluid at $3+/ gallon!
I'm curious if you have the option to select ad length in your videos. I let most of the five minute and shorter ads play through, but some channels will have two 45 minute ads. Is that something the creator can choose, or youtube doing youtube things? I find your channel very helpful, especially when considering property. Keep up the good work.
@@CliffsideStables they are expensive plus he would also have to spend more to front end to accommodate it on top of running new hydraulic lines to operate it. Hundred bucks at most vs a few thousand.. but yeah if money wasn't an option you are right on that.

I enjoy watching the mill do its job but like others the noise level is outrageous! Thank you for toning the sound down. Do you ever put a flour sack on the sawdust catcher to get some to fix some of the cracks in your wood? It works wonders and it is easy to do. Where's the Butter? LOL
Juat figured out why USA lumber prices trippled and overhere in western Europe doubled. The Canadians normallly supply the USA with lumber, but their big plants did shut down because of the Covid. Now USA is importng lumber from northern Europe, causing shortages overhere. Some products even have a waiting time of 2 months overhere now. I bet a lot of my fellow Dutch lumber traders did earn a big bonus buck to redirect the stuff to the USA.
A cant in the UK railway industry is the difference in height of one rail to the other. Used to help a train go around bends. The outer rail would be higher than the inner rail and the difference is called the cant. Same word different meaning, I wonder if anyone else has a different meaning of the word?
How important is it to get your cant square? I always see a little bit of a rhombus - would you just clean those edges up with a table/band saw if you wanted them completely square?
For outdoor stuff like barns, sheds, coops, fencing, and such it's not that important. For precision carpentry, furniture, trim, and the like youd use a combination of a planer and jointer to flatten and square your lumber enough to run it through the table saw. You can then run it back through the planer if you need to reduce the boards further in thickness.
I can see pretty far over the steering wheel 😂 Been very happy with it. It is 17 years old now so I am not sure if the new ones are anything like this one. Been a solid tractor.
My father put me on a tractor when I was 6 yr old ,all I could do was hold it straight, could not reach the clutch nor the breaks ,we did 128 acres that first yr dad would watch at each corner and come up and get us going down another row with a Leader tractor.
This made we literally laugh out loud. The old blade folding. Took me a while it get it down. I actually did a video years ago on this channel detailing how to do it.
Every Citizen in the whole country should be Pro Constitution not just Pro whatever they think is right and or wrong! Thats one of the problems in America today, everyone wants to be special! Our forefathers came up with a good idea (compared to what the rest of the world was doing) and modern society has expanded upon the 10 to make things correct (fix what was overlooked). If someone isn't happy with our current rights then they should go somewhere else because we got it pretty dang good here!

I'm really enjoying learning cool stuff from the vid! However, I'm not pro 2A as there's lots of work in the pro 2A arena with which I greatly disagree. Perhaps if you want to talk up some good gun control measures I'd be more interested to hear about that.
You've very quickly become my favorite homesteader as an aspiring homesteader. Hopefully I'll get my 10+ acres in the next 2 years.
Shucks, you’re making me blush! I hope you get your land soon!
Nice to watch a saw-milling video where the sawyer is not throwing wood all over the place. I like methodical, tidy working practices.

As a homesteader and a West Virginian, your stuff always makes me proud. Glad to have you in WVCDL.

You guys are doing the heavy lifting. Thank You
You fixed the sawdust chute.
Good.

Fellow WVCDL member here. I just noticed this was linked on the Telegram group!
I like it when you explain as you are milling.

Really enjoy the sawmill videos. Also the language lesson was educational.
Yup. 2 pulls after 2 months. My Norwood had that Honda 9. Bulletproof!
Love the humor and play on words.....
I really like the challenge some of you guys have trying to get the most boards per log. Some just run them through.
I wish it was that cool here.
I also wish I had your mill.
Didn't get too much done on this Mother's Day. Ate lots of crawfish!!!

That is so interesting. It’s like a jigsaw puzzle
Wvcdl is now in my priorities. Should be swapping plates an license ETC to WV by end of June.
All the way with 2A, I don’t live in WV but they are moving the right direction 👍👍
Still say you should get a second log clamp with one on each side of tractor bucket and you can pick up logs higher and even and safer
Or better yet buy a grapple! It would not be a purchase you regret!

If up the sawing sawer!😃
All the way with 2A 👍👍👍
Love the Appalachian humour! Born and raised next door then KY then al . 2a👍
Just curious-what do you do with all that sawdust?
You are way better at this than those girls in TicTock leggings
How often do you check level on your mill? They seem to take a little beating every time a log is loaded. Is it an every use thing?
How long did that blade last before changing it?
Do you sharpen your blades? If not who does yours? Whats it cost? I need to get mine done
Can you show how to fold up that blade again I did not see that way to do it before.

That sawmill music is a real toe tapper but you have to tap really, really fast!

When i was pulling green chain inth saw mill cannt was cannt lift them lol 6x18 x 16 ft green cannt lift
Do you ever sell lumber? If so do you sell true 2x or nominal?
What is your view on your Kioti tractor 🚜.

Also with a wheat binder.
Thanks God for mother’s this day
Kant is edge in Danish/Scandinavian so it figures that a square log is a kant.
In Alabama, Kaint means it ain't good.
Label your piles so you know what's what :-) It might help :-)
Pressure wash your logs before stacking them, will double your blade life
