So you just put the stone up and apply some mortar around it and it doesn’t fall right off? I mean kudos to you, I had no idea how people do this and now I really want to.
Cover the plywood with a tyvek or tarpaper, staple it on with a hammer tacker, then install a flashing at the top of the area desired to have stone so water never gets behind your stone, then lathe the wall with a 1/4 inch wire lathe, then buy some type s mortar mix at home depot Lowes, or a hardware store, then add water to it then mix it to a manageable slump the put the mortar on the back of clean stone and stick it to the wall, try and keep the joints consistently the same size, clean excess mortar off with a brush as the mortar starts to dry, in a nutshell that's the jist of it.
What State is this in? Need to do the same thing to my house. I live in MN. Would the coldness in my area loosen the rock and fall off? Not sure how strong the bonder will bond in this weather. Thanks in advance
And your trowel skills are lacking my guy but no worries I'll come up there and help you out one day. I charge 25 a foot min. For that type of stone just so ya know
Just watch out for Kaiser during a hysterectomy. My surgeon cut into my intestine which made the initial surgery last over an hour longer, and as soon as I barely came to they were telling me I need to go home. They did this because it releases them from any legal liability. They had me sign paperwork after I was under general anesthesia. Beware!
I really dont understand why people do this sort of thing. Its cheap, does not endure, and it looks terrible because its a lie. And if that is what you value, why not just put up some exterior rock wallpaper?
It's approximately 1/2 the cost in comparison to real river rock, looks acceptable and I'd dare say 98 percent of everyone that looks at it can't tell the difference between real and cultured.
@@SolidworksUnlimited it's not 1/2 price. They double the price of rock. They create an inferior product, double the price of the original to tell you're getting have the price. Beautiful!
Thx!
So satisfying to watch😅👍👍
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it.
Great video love the end 👍

Nice bucket blowout!🤣 Just did that the other day on a job.
I know those cheap home depot buckets are getting as thin as their plastic bags lol
That’s nice 👍👍
Thx
what mortar did you use and what was the ratio?
I use type s mortar. Just add water
Cool!, do they make a smaller size I have to do two chimneys.
Most brands will be pretty close to the same size, but they do change them up sometimes.
@@SolidworksUnlimited Thanks, I'll keep looking.
How much did you end up paying for the stone total?
漂亮!赞一个
Thank you very much.
Hey I wanna make my own wall what do you use to shape the mortar
Here's a link to the tool amzn.to/3ICE1uS
Put a hole in the white bucket while mixing? Nice video
Ya lol
Ah yes fast forward through the part I wish to see 🙈😅
I didn't know people wanted to watch the boring part 😁
No sería mejor empezar de abajo hacia arriba?
I want this done to the bottom of my cabin but they have ply wood on bottom half and no clue what I need to do to prep for stone :(

@@SolidworksUnlimitedmay I ask what kind of bonding agent to add ? Or is type S mortar perfectly fine
Type s is fine if your just putting it on wire lathe, the bonding agent is only for sticking it to existing concrete walls.
Are you mixing just plain mortar, or adding something to it
Adding a bonder for installing it to a concrete wall.
No scratch coat?
Where are you based out of?
What was the cost of the rock?
It varies in price from place to place, but close to 8 dollars per sq ft just for the stone

Also a Minnesotan and we have similar rock siding and it has held up great since we put it in 4 years ago
Although we used grout
I've dealt with so much real river rock I'm doing stairs with it now. Nice worry.
wtf music. good vid to watch, thanks
It was Christmas man lol
I agree with your comment. Especially "why music"! Volume off!
Are you damn rookies calling that cobblestone 😅
That's an ugly thing to say 😁
Not as ugly as that " cobblestone" wall😜😂
@@tysonberry4552 cobblestone?? Lol
Yes sir that stone is not cobblestone

A bear trap! Cruel!!!!
Cowaaaabunga!
Get those joints a little tighter my man
You didn’t explain what you used and the techniques that you used.🤔🧐🤷🏻♀️
Sorry noreen, I'll try and do a better job next time, are you installing some stone and need more pointers?
I am! I could use pointers. It’s on my house, same deal as this.

Is it falling off yet? It will.
It hasn't and it won't 😁
