That's not the last pitch of the 1984 World Series. Alan Wiggins popped out to Lance Parrish for the second out of the ninth - the play you showed - before Tony Gwynn flew out to left two pitches later.

As a Tigers fan, I was looking forward to Larry Herndon flagging down Tony Gwynn's fly ball for the last out of the 1984 series, and then watching madness break loose. It looks like this video shows the 26th out.
Love the compilation and love the comments. I am so glad to hear your passion. Question for you guys: Do you really think that baseball is dying as a main sport, that people care more about football and basketball?
Something's starting to smell fishy. All these teams breaking long droughts or winning first championship. Since 2001: D-backs, Angels, Marlins, Red Sox, White Sox, Cardinals, Phillies, Giants, Royals, Cubs, Astros. This after 3 straight Yankees championships, Even with salary cap, its just odd.
The Marlins had just won in 1997 (before the Yankees' three-peat), and although the Cardinals had last won in 1982, they had an NL-leading 9 championships at the time (now 11), so they were hardly an underdog. So I think the introduction of the WC (which, incidentally, has been around since 1995, back when the Yankees were still a "dynasty") is only a small part of the explanation (if there even is one). And steroids aren't the whole explanation either, because plenty of non-Yankees (e.g. Bonds, Sosa, Ramirez) were doing them too.
Still till this day, one of my favorite World Series which a lot of people forget was 1986 World Series Mets vs Ref Sox. It was an amazing series
LMAO, look at 0:00 the fans and the announcers are not even excited 😂 the fans are casually clapping 😭😂😂😂😂
Bennett Flach omg lol back then it wasn’t as important
If you're talking about the first one, I think it sounded like a recap and it was a road win
Lol
Well that's Fenway Park and the St. Louis Cardinals had just beaten their Red Sox. Actually showed a bit of class by the normally classless Sox fans.
The last out of the 1984 World Series was a fly out to left field. It was incorrect.
Tigers Fan All Day go tigers
That was only the second out
What do all these have in common.
No Mariners.
Andrew Behrend you’re all right...
Your all right😏
The Nationals as well because like the Mariners, they haven't been to a world series.
Ethan Broussard expos/nationals almost would've won in 1994 but strike happened
FartyPants911 the Nationals wouldn't exist if they won that year.
No padres
*Are they playing baseball or football?*
😂😂😂

I think they where 😹
To all those asking about 1994: There was no World Series. The players' strike ended the season in August. Do some research please
poor Expos

It’s crazy that from 2008-2014 the NL was represented by just 3 teams
Phillies, Giants and Cardinals
Always reliable for good content. Thanks sporting videos!!
That 1993 home run was unforgettable.
I know. I saw it on TV, rooting for my Phillies. :(

you can really see the slow rise of joe buck's voice in this video

Clorox Bleach I know it weird
Lol perhaps the crowd supported the losing team and were a little put out by the whole thing.
All of these titles were won fairly, except the last one.
Thank you for saying that I am a Dodgers fan
Actually, that one was won fairly also. If everyone is cheating, then no one was cheated.
Hence it was just as fairly won as all of the rest.
congratulation Astros you DESERVES the win
We earned it. Nothing was deserved.
Why i am a dback fan supporting the astros
In 1996, that was so cool watching Charlie Hayes pound his glove once before catching the final out.
2010, 2012, and 2014 GO GIANTS 😀👍🇺🇸💙⚾
Yes bro go giants. Never forget our dynasty and we are the team of the 2010s.
7:59 my team right there! I was literally the only person in my colorado dorm going nuts.
After all the struggles and suffering that the Astros have faced for the last couple of years, they deserve the World Series.
Competitorcycle im a dodger fan but i agree
Competitorcycle ill never forget those 2 dollar tickets. They couldn't even give em away nobody wanted to go lol.
It went from “take any seat you want” to “I think there are some seats way up there” in a year
Yes you do guys, i can wait till the dodgers win for another couple years
Especially after Harvey hit us
1:54 Reggie Jackson just plowed that guy 😂
never forget #2010 #2012 and #2014
we aint doing well rn but we have the city and the money to get back at it soon
GO GIANTS
Man, the splitter to end it in 2013 by Koji Uehara and the absolute darted heat from Davis in 2015 are two of the nastiest pitches I've ever seen.
The cubs waited 108 years so the people that were crying at game 7, we waited longer than u

Congratulations the astros, what a team
Either 2001 or 2011 WS was the best imo, an emotional rollercoaster through both
2011 and 2017 were both series that would have been among the top 5 in history if Game 7 had lived up to the promise of the first 6.
Watching this video, I didn’t realize how many of these series were won on the road. Doesn’t seem like nearly as many were won at home.
I like the clip where the Astro won
Fox needs to bring back that close up shot of the pitchers after the out. Shits iconic
1:54 ????????????
Sno Coke Lol
Trying to get out

Craig Counsell scored the winning run twice, 97 with Marlins and 2001 with Diamondbacks
No, Counsell was the runner on first in 2001, so his run didn't count. Jay Bell scored the winning run from third.
Everyone please look at the change of MLB graphics on TV. It changed from 2008 to 2009
thank you for putting the Harry Kalas call of the 2008 world series.

1984: Final out was Tony Gwynn's fly ball to left fielder Larry Herndon, not Wiggins foul out to Parrish.
Imagine losing a World Series watching a pitch
Cabrera did that in 2012 after winning the Triple Crown that year. :(

2018 is gunna be so sad if the dodgers win it
hopefully they don't
1993 Joe Cartes 3 run homer is my favorite. Who agrees?
I'll never forget that!!

In 1992, the twins are actually more north than Toronto.
Dude. Camera quality visibly changed in 2009. I lived through that and didn’t even notice
I’m a Florida native and I am still mad about the 2008 World Series every time I go to a game

great video....but, 1984 isn't the last pitch. The last pitch was hit to Larry Herndon in left field.
Also pay attention to the difference between the quality in the early 1970's and the quality in 2017
