Someone should ask Focal about their QC issues. Apparently some pairs of Elex and even Clear and Utopia have clipping issues in the bass region which is unacceptable in a headphone that costs that much. Also, maybe this is Massdrops fault but allegedly Elex underperforms compared to headphones like the HD660S (which is cheaper).
i just bought a pair of these, in 2024. to be honest, i was disappointed with them till i put a pair of dekoni elite sheep skin earpads on. yes, totally changed the sound. which now is nothing like the its intended sound. however, i couldn't listen to them previously. now i can't put them down. they are ssoo good.
Just bought these, they're so fucking amazing for studio work. I spend 7 hours a day with them and they're amazing
Just bought a pair of these. Thanks so much for the amazing in detail interview and review!
A fascinating insight into the design process required to achieve the Elegia. Great talk.
If these are mean to be used portably why does Focal still insist on using such stiff cables?
I love my elegia!!
