Faye was simply countered quite hard. Great bombards counter crossbows, janissary counters horsemen. And Faye didn't counter anything with her unit choice. Sure the springalds might snipe bombards, but you need more of them and spears to defend.
@@slushg3326 well the buildings that get destroyed seem pretty good but the canons used to roll across the map in the aoe3 it looked so cool, seems more like an oversight maybe to me.
I do miss so much about aoe3 with mainly playing aoe4 but I guess the biggest part why is just being different graphical theme, just like age of empires online with the cartoonish graphics were hard to look at after aoe3

As french vs ottoman it's a hard match up. I'd say red keep TC spam is a creative strategy, but vs ottoman, you can't deal with the great bombard protected by mass Jans with cavalry, even the springald tickles. Royal culve from college of artillery really could have save the day.
Longer games are fun. But we don't care about Ottoman, French, etc. We want Great Bombard to be strong unit because we just want to BLOW UP SHHHHYT. And it's still NOT so

It’s been a lot of fun running 5 military school man-at-arms spam. It’s crazy how quickly they build up, and massing crossbows or knights to beat them gets expensive. MIA building springalds makes any mango threat non existent.

I think the fact that you favor long games leads you into fast imperial meta. Although I do agree that it seems to be slightly more favored lately due to changes in the meta for ottomans and french primarily. This was a fun game to watch. I'm gonna go log into discord and give faye a hard time for being a celebrity now xD.
not really, abbasid have great eco and military bonuses eary on. The Issue is that everyone always goes eco wing and places 3 tc's (some people even 5) and then wonder why they get overwhelmed or focused most of the time. They are insane in the early stages of the game, but no one utilizes their advantages to the fullest extend.
Many people don't care about civs as much as the unique units. We want a genuinely fun Great Bombard to be able to BLOW UP LITTLE DUDES on battlefield (AoE3 physics would help). GB is still SUPER WEAK, same with Delhi elephants

Played a game I totally should have won but for stupid mistakes. I was up against ottoman and kept doing good trades and kept raiding his vils but every time I turned around to check my eco he had another army ready. Low league game but I can see the potential. Seems like they're trying to make the game more console friendly and less overwhelming with micro/macro.
@@minimcune Doom? AoE4 has not been able to crack 8k average monthly players for like a year. Even AoE2, which by no means is a popular game these days, manages nearly twice that.
@@tetefather With Ottomans being second in Conqueror at 53.4% and still the highest average when looking across all ranks. Admittedly AoE4 World only shows stats to July 20th but besides that I don't know what numbers you are going by.

Anatolian hills isn't just about 8 free sheep. It's an instantaneous +15% mining tech. Very useful for fast imp or outmining your opponent in general
