    There's a proverb created in the Lake District that says... 'There's no such thing as bad weather. Only bad clothing.' A place where you can experience every season in a single day.

    Amazing. I would never have guessed that you are Austrian. I have known a few German/Austrian people in my life and you could always detect the German accent when they spoke English. Your accent is perfect. I really think you must have been British in a previous life. I'm British and didn't realize how much I loved it here until I lived and worked in the USA for 12 years. Just as you said, you can get anywhere really quickly in the UK. We have over 11,000 miles of coastline and the variety of places is insane. We have beautiful countryside, beaches, villages, towns and cities etc.
    I'll never forget returning for a holiday to the UK during my first year working in the USA. As soon as I got off the plane at Manchester, the freshness of the air just blew me away. It's small things like that which make a huge difference.

    I am a Brit who lives in the south of France and after watching this video i am now feeling homesick, after living away from the UK now for 14 years this christmas i would have sold my great granny for a traditional British christmas dinner. I don't normally miss back home but i think this lockdown has been playing games with me and made me think of all the things i miss from back home, we may have some wonderful food here in France but a French christmas dinner isn't a patch on a UK christmas dinner. There is just no comparison.

There’s no doubt that the U.K. has some exceptional characteristics, such as diversity of people, landscapes, sub cultures & so on, rounded off with amazing history & architecture of the times. If you haven’t, you really ought to visit the Isle of Wight, a microcosm of U.K. history in all its glory. Best wishes 🙂👍

    You know most of us take for granted the History around us daily. I come from a village within the north west. The local church dates back to the 11th century. No records before because they couldn't write. And it was mainly the priests that where the only ones that where educated enough to keep records. Within those records there's a gap in time without a priest because of the black death. The church is Anglican now, But would of been catholic back then before Henry 8th dissolved the roman catholic churches and monastery's. There was a window i remember pieced together jumbled. That was the repair after Cromwell attacked. Unfortunately some lune put a new window in some 20 years since. If you enjoy history its all around you . Local places can hold some real interesting History.

    • @seeker1432
      @seeker1432 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Greenwood4727 I guess we be excited to if that was our history. In The UK and Europe. Theres peoples private homes with secret rooms. Ancient cellars and even Historic foundations. But there private so we may never see them. We dont even fully know what's around us. Can be very interesting. In my own area I know from people that have passed away certain History's, of the area. But being rural many new people now sit on the council's and live here. Much of what was known is being forgotten. Some years ago I compilled information from several books and put it together in a file and shared them before all was lost. That's my effort to save the past. But theres much I dont know.

    An excellent list. We really do pack a lot in to a pretty small island, oh, and Northern Ireland. And I can agree, I've been to most of the places you mentioned, lovely all. Oh dear though, and i hope you don't get to much stick, but the New Forest, in NEW Hampshire. No, just Hampshire, haha. It's still a long way from the New World.
    BTW, isn't it annoying 'when you leave your phone in the car' Great vid.
