    I used to have a coworker do that sip/sigh routine… it did drive me insane…. I started pretending to do a ‘silent fart’ after every sigh (a little lean to the side and slight facial grimace). She didn’t like it, but never said anything…. So….. We both merrily entered the lands of insanity together……..

    I don't see how thanking the bus driver or saying hello to a total stranger are problems. I'm a southerner and lived in London for over 20 years and I do both of those things!

    • @danosverige
      @danosverige 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Try doing those in Sweden and you'll be very close to getting arrested! As a Northern Brit', it comes natural to me wherever I am. However, do it in Sweden and you may have well just shed all your clothes and asked them if you look ok for a 'streak' the way they'll look at you!

      @Graham Pearce, that's exactly as it should be, however having lived in the Northeast of England for most if my life and now living near Watford I find that the few times I've travelled by bus and said thankyou the driver has totally ignored me. I do get a few acknowledgements when saying hello passing strangers but nothing like the response in the North.

      @@peterrichards7387 It doesn't matter if your thankyous and greetings are ignored. That's the recipients problem! That was fun - and the weather bloke was absolutely on point. This has been a patchy summer and i seem to have worked on the nice weeks and had a couple of rainy weeks off. Duvets and changing the covers are the bane of my life - I'm only 5ft 2, and end up having to crawl into the cover to make sure the duvet is laying flat. Every time I change the damn thing, I can guarantee there will a lump or folded in corner! I end up a sweaty, stressed out mess and definitely need a lie down to recover. 😆 😫

    • @MeFreeBee
      @MeFreeBee 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The secret is to turn the cover inside out, put your arms in through the opening and grab the far corners of the cover and the corners of the duvet at the same time from inside the cover. Keeping a tight hold you can then shake the cover over the duvet, safe in the knowledge that the corners are perfectly aligned.

    As a late Boomer, I'd just like to say we haven't all had it easy either - I bought my first flat age 28 with a BIG deposit loaned by my Dad, just before interest rates soared to 15%. For 5 years my salary (graduate engineer, well paying job) just paid for mortgage interest, food and petrol to get to work. So I empathise deeply with young people today, but you're not the first generation to find life hard.

    • @jca111
      @jca111 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I had a very similar situation. I got my first flat, and one month later the interest rates rocketed. I had £10 a week to live off for a long while. Then the roof needed replacing. And the whole market went negative for nearly 8 years, meaning I couldn't sell. So it was not all easy for the older generation. It seems to be fashionable to blame older generations for everything.

    • @kwanarchive
      @kwanarchive 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, the problem is boomers blaming young people for a) the way they were raised, as if they were responsible for that, and b) for not understanding that their life is also hard, and not because of avocado sandwiches. Boomers don't seem to understand economics and doesn't understand that houses have inflated in value because old people buy it all up and hoard it, wanting to be rich by doing absolutely nothing. And then turning around and saying that young people don't want to do anything.
      Buying up houses and selling them off for a profit by squeezing the market is the epitome of laziness.
