  • In this video we are working on:
Rear end awareness- You can see his improvement in this already since my last video. He is pivoting around on the footstool freely, now I am asking him to pivot and line up next to my left side- in heel position.
Positions: Sit, drop (from sit and stand position), and stand.
"Touch" where he touches his nose to my hand- a good warm up game.
And ofcourse the all important eye contact! (You can see his eyes dart between treat and my face... I click and reward when he is looking at my face, gradually building the duration of time that he is required to give me eye contact before I reward him)

There is no greater joy in the world than being around a boxer puppy.

That was wonderful watching his little noggin hard at work trying to figure out what he needs to do.
A boxer will never concentrate harder than when there's something yummy at stake. The praise was just a bonus haha.
I only just happened on this video but I can already tell you're clearly a professional at this and know the breed like the back of your hand.

haha I would choose to train a Boxer over a lab anyday :) Boxers aren't as food driven as labs, but in some ways that is a blessing! :)

I always wanted to see if boxers could be trained...thanks for the video I'm trying to convince my fiancée that a boxer can be trained just like a labrador

We have had Boxer rescues since 1990 and they are extremely smart and athletic and make you laugh. I have never heard that they cannot be trained

Great video! Makes me sad when I see so many videos using e-collar on boxer... Great to see trainers using normal training methods with this great breed.

How do you stop boxers from jumping up on people and pulling

    • @idaho38

Brett Ford : the dog whisperer says to ignore them when they do that, don't talk to them while they are jumping when you come home, once they calm down, then you talk to them. It works!

In Ireland it is illegal to dock boxers now. My boxer would look more professional and better docked
