Ingonyama Trust | Residents 'vindicated' by court ruling

They took on the powerful Ingonyama Trust and won. Now, residents from rural Jozini in KwaZulu-Natal’s far north say they feel vindicated. A ruling by the Pietermaritzburg High Court declared the trust acted unlawfully and in violation of the Constitution, by concluding residential leases with people who are, in fact, the true owners of the land in terms of Zulu customary law.
